Nice video. He played pretty well for us last year (during the season) I wouldn't mind re-singing him to a long-term deal. Even with Acie its good to have a solid veteran such as Bibby on the team.

Seems like the Hawks have made several additions to their roster in the past few weeks. Can anyone tell me if they are pretty much done or do you expect them still to try to add another Center to the team? I am hoping Randolph Morris will able to provide some help inside with his size and strength and maybe since he is still young he will prove to the Hawks and the NBA that he can become that quality NBA Center that some had thought a couple of years ago.
A lot of ppl ripped the signing when we first got him but I think it was because they were upset with the Smith and J-Chill situation. Looking at the Morris signing it could really pay off. He is making next to nothing, he can't really do any worse than he did in NY and maybe with the change of scenery he will become a better player.

I think you listed two terrible potential centers in Wright and Barron. What scares me is that I think there may be a chance the Hawks sign Wright, but with Rick Sund at the helm and not Knight you never know. I would love to sign Pollard because he can get those rebounds, something Wright and Barron can't do as well with their height.

Is Nick Fazekas still available? That guy will be a very savvy pickup for some team, and by some team, I mean probably the Spurs.
Nick Fazekas are you joking? He was the reason they made the movie White Man Can't Jump.

This kid is clueless. Does he not realize he has a job and that even though the season is 9 months, you work all year around. While Deron Williams and Chris Paul lead the US agianst the world he is at UNC getting his degree. Are you kiddding me? I think this says a lot about his lack of passion. Al Horford needs to go up there and slap that bitch!
Disgusting.....................

Apparently he is now Marvin the BEAST!

Yes, I have been on those boards for 4 years now. I love the improvements to the board but there are too many Shockley fans. LOL
Frank! Good to see ya here. This is TFoATL from EBSports. I guess I should've told you about this site, I had no clue you didn't know about it.Oh well. Welcome to the boards though!
Yea I just figured out about it on a blog in the AJC. Its great, but EB is also solid. Eze is a good source of info for insider information. Plus I am a moderator over there.

Everyone is saying we need a big well lets bring back the man himself the internationaly known Mutumbo for good reasons, still have fond memories of Mutumbo, Blaylock and Steve Smith doing it up in ATL.
Horford/Mutumbo/MORRIS TRADE SOLO for cash considerations
SMITH/ZAZA/
WILLIAMS/EVANS SIGHN LUKE JACKSON
JOHNSON/FLIP
BIBBY/LAW/ClLAXTON
I wouldn't mind bringing back Dikembe. He may not be a scoring threat anymore but the boy can still rebound. He would get 5-8 RPG off the bench. I wouldn't mind making the move. I dont know what all the hype is on Luke Jackson. He obviously tore it up at Oregon but he appears to be a college player. Just like JJ Redick.

I don't think the Hawks signed Flip to get in the way with the PG's. He just so happens to make a nice addition to that spot. Furthermore, this allows JJ to play SG, SF rather than SG,PG.

Bynum walks away with the winner for Bridesmaid. But Mo had a good looking girl.

Tried to think of who that would be and drew a blank. Smitty? It's been a long time and such a talent adds a dimension that we just haven't had.
Wow this is actually a very good post. The Hawks haven't really have a great 3P shooter in decade. Steve Smith was good but nothing amazing. My pick would come down to Jason Terry or Steve Smith
Oh and of course this discussion doesn't include Bibby or Johnson. Because it would be tough not to give it to one of those guys.

Very good article thanks for posting

Welcome aboard! We've been around as Hawksquawk.net for about 7 years now and for several years before on the old EZ board. It still surprises me that more Hawks fans don't know about us.
Whats the "old EZ board."

Interesting. Took long enough! LOL
Anyways, Sekou mentioned that the Hawks had some interest in him.

Lets put the Josh saga's aside for a minute and give a quick review on this off-season.
Sund addressed a potential big man by signing Randolph Morris. Although Morris has not performed very well in his two-year NBA career, I think it was a decent signing. First off Sund signed the guy to a two-year deal with the league minimum contract. You can't really go wrong there. Secondly Morris has never really been given a shot playing for the Knicks a disgruntled team the past few years.
Another singing made was Maurice "Mo" Evans. A guard who has been in the league for 5 years. He has potential to put up 10 points, 2-3 rebounds and 2-3 assist off the bench. This was a good signing I think it will be interesting to see how he performs with other athletic players.
This recent signing of Ronald "Flip" Murray is actually pretty good and came at a surprise. This is another "under the radar" made by Sund. Murray is a veteran with playoff experience, has played with great teams in the East such as Cleveland and Detroit. Murray is a solid 6th man.
Now back to the Joshes. Personally I think the Hawks were very smart with the Josh Smith situation, they noticed that teams such as Philly and LAL were not making lucrative contracts to him so they decided to wait. Once a team proposed an offer to him they matched. I truly think that they would've matched as high as $70, but they felt no one was going to offer that much so why should they jump the gun. Anyways we all know how I feel about loosing J-Chill, he was the glue that held this team together but I think Murray or even Evans is an acceptable replacement. Murray has very similar stats to Chill when putting up around the same minutes, just less rebounds and more assists. So what does this say? We need to go out and sign a good big man or make a sign-trade with Salim to get that big man.

Dude Herb was great. He should have been promoted to HC when the spot was open this off-season. There is a reason he coaches the Maccabi Tel Aviv team.
