Go for the division and the higher seed hawks. If we want to be considered an elite team we cant be scared to play the elite teams.
Id rather dodge a team and make it to the conference finals than try and go for elite and lose in the semi's.
-
As much as i really love winning, we really dont want to play Orlando if we make it to the second round. Id rather take my chance with Cleveland, esp. now that Shaq is hurt.
-
Any scenario where we dont play Orlando is a good one.
-
Good thing i will actually be at the game.
-
I hope people have finally come to grips that we need to avoid Orlando in the playoffs. They pretty much own us and i dont see that changing any time soon.
-
I absolutely think we can make it to the NBA Finals as long as we somehow dodge the Magic in the playoffs.
-
Why do we always lose on a day they have Inside the NBA? I wish we would win once so they would have to say something positive about us during the show.
-
He watches enough to know a random regular season game means little to nothing when it comes to winning a championship. Hell, we beat the Lakers last year but only a fool would have said we belonged in their category.
-
So nobody is gonna mention it was against the lowly Nets?

Craw played 34 minutes tonight.
Dang, didnt notice that. So why didnt we put in Teague and Crawford, that takes out JJ and Bibby. We have enough Forwards and a Center to make that happen and let JJ get some rest.
-
Are you serious? I thought Woody said he was gonna limit his minutes this year. Are we just gonna run him into the ground? Let Crawford get some of those minutes.

Lies and damned lies.
via 82games.com:
FG% on 2 point jumpshots
Joe Johnson: 41.2
Al Horford: 41.0
Glen Davis: 36.5
And just for fun
Josh Smith: 32.2
Big Baby has vastly improved since the beginning of the season. If you have been watching the Celtics lately you would know he has been knocking that midrange shot down consistently.
-
Well when Al has had the chance to shoot a midrange jumper it is usually very off target. Usually hitting the side of the rim and not the inside of the cylinder.
-
If Big Baby can develop a consistent mid range shot then Al can too. This offseason he needs to do nothing but learn how to hit that shot.
Then we can at least incorporate some pick and rolls in our gameplan.

After more thought i dont see how anyone can defend Woody and his offense at this point. Instead of crafting an offense which puts people in position to use their strengths, his solution is to simply not pass them the ball.
-
We really don't need a 6'10" 3 point shooter
Granted, he'd be fine to put in as a 9th man in a rotation but he shouldn't be Sund's prized acquisition this off-season.
Id say we already have one of those, except the one we have cant shoot 3's.
-
Bibby summed up my feelinsg on Woodson and his offense.
-
Im glad Bibby said this because i have been saying it in the chat the whole year and everyone has been piling on me about it. If the coach doesn't want him taking that shot then design plays that dont have him standing there.
-
So you guys are saying that we dont run mostly iso?
All you see in the chats is people complaining about Iso Joe. Now that someone in the national media brings it up you get all bent out of shape.
-
I got banned from the chat for no good reason so i guess ill post in here.

Another player of Johnson's size probably wouldn't have had 13 assists on just 35 made baskets for the team.
For those of you counting, that's 35 makes, minus his own 5 makes 30...13 assists out of 30 baskets = he alone assisted 43.3% of all his team's made shots.
JJ could have played better, but he's hardly the biggest reason the Hawks lost.
If JJ is to have star status and be the unquestioned leader of this team then him making plays when his shot isnt falling should be expected of him.

This was one of those games that awes me-not by what Josh Smith can do, but what he could be as a player. If you can dominate the interior with Marcus Camby holding it down, you can do it any time. There is no good reason that Josh isn't dropping 25 a night.
Here's what sums it up...8/10 on the interior, 2/5 with the jumper. He shot the ball well above his career average with the jumper, and was nowhere near as good as he was inside.
Mike Woodson on the post-game show just now, "I don't want to take his game away from him..." referring to Josh Smith limiting his jump shots.
WHAT? His GAME, in this sense, must mean throwing up 5 bricks a night. Any reasonably intelligent person watching this game would LOVE for Josh Smith to play exactly like this EVERY night.
Woody is not man enough to define a role for a player to have given his strengths. If a player wants to shoot 3's but sucks doing it then damnit Woody isnt gonna take that away from them

How did you get to watch the game? It wasn't on TV?
It was on league pass.
I take offense to people saying we don't want Orlando

People keep saying, "we have to face Orlando or Cleveland anyway", well Cleveland isnt the problem. We are at least competitive with them. The problem is Orlando and Orlando only.
