Uhm???  Rebuild for what?  It's a strong possibility that if we rebuild wrong, we will end up waiting 10 more years before we have a team good enough to even make the playoffs.   That loses FAs.  Know our History!  IF we stay in contention then maybe some good free agent will consider us.   IF we drop out of contention, we may become the new 76ers... always in the lottery.. a training ground for other teams..  A D-League team in the NBA.

Contention for what? Just making the playoffs? Yea... I don't think that's moving the FA meter.

It's only one game but watching him not step up and miss shot after shot in game 5 showed me how I really feel about him. He's going to get overpaid somewhere and it better not be here.

Well... we're more than likely going to overpay someone anyways. Whether that's both Horf and an upgrade at the wing... or just Horf. We can't really just keep scraping the $5 bin and hope to really go any further. Either overpay someone or rebuild. Are there better people worth overpaying than Barnes? Sure, but they aren't coming to the Hawks.

  3. I definitely agree that the Max is too high. But its too high for any player that isn't in the highest echelon of the league. That said, I'd rather pay Derozan than start Korver and/or Baze at... well... either wing position.  Lol

I think he'll stay in Toronto though.

Both guys are really poor 3 point shooters. Seems  like they pairing could kill the spacing  for Bud's offense. We would need to find a two or three  that was a knock down shooter.   would that be so terrible? If anything Bud is too reliant on the 3 pt shot as is. Sure, a knock down shooting specialist would be needed but aren't those easier to come by?

  5. I'm a little mixed on the whole fit thing. Is it better to look for players that fit your system or get a top tier player and make a system that fits around them?

Personally I vote the latter. But granted that we are the Hawks, we'll stay with the former. Signing regular players that fit our system in the off season is great and all but it's not going to get a championship if that's the plan.

    Auto correct. Kawhi Leonard

He's really the 15 mpg prototype for us if Dennis moves to the starting lineup. We played Antic who's just as flawed as Jahlil. Just Jahlil strengths are far more needed considering we don't have a legit 20ppg scorer anywhere on our roster

Sounds like you're finally coming to terms with Horford. Good job, Supes.

    But seriously i agree.

    We could definitely use one.

I agree for the forseeable future the Cavs will be tough to beat. Remember it still took the right moves for the stars to align. Th Golden State Warriors were bad for some time but chose wisely drafting Curry and Thompson. No one thought Draymomd Green would be the player he was a 2nd round pick. Other players like Bogut,Levingston were acquired shrewdly. It still takes the right moves at the right time something the Hawks refused to do when a high quality player may have been available. Their reasoning was thngs are going good now we don't want to break up the chemistry. Sure thats good if you want a mediocre team but the regualr season is much different than the post season. The hawks have failed to add talent. Something that teams who go far also they can play either small ball or big ball. The Hawks who do they h av e other than Sap that can really score in the post and board. we saw vs the Cavs Sap had problems inside with TT giving him alot fo trouble.

You want to close the gap between the Cavs,Warriors vs Hawks make the right moves at the right time would be a good start.

I'd give the Hawks ownership the benefit of the doubt. They're going into their 3rd year and for the first time they're not saddled with deals no longer than a year so they can flip expirings for picks or even take on longer contracts to establish the identity they want versus having to work with what Ferry got.

We've been benefit-of-the-doubt-ing for quite a while now. I'm gonna remain pessimistic  on our off season. That way, disappointment  won't be a thing. Lol

Believe me, I know. But I have a gut feeling that this time will be different. There's no way we blow three Drafts in a row. NO WAY. And with the way this team got run off the court the last two seasons, I can't see the Hawks just standing pat and thinking the fans will be okay with another WLOC statement after we again fail to attract any big free agents. The Hawks brass should understand by now that they are going to have to use the Draft to get their marquee player. If there are teams willing to trade in the top five, the Hawks absolutely have to get involved. Drafting Taurean Prince and saying, "He's the guy we were targeting the whole time", is not gonna get it this time.

I used to get those too. It wasn't usually what I thought it was. But let me pass on the remedy, Brougham.

    You're welcome.
