And there's just no way the Falcons can win without Michael Vick.
-
You know he can't sign until July 8 right ?
There is a 7 page thread on here you should read.......like the rest of us have.
Hawks beat writer, MC of the AJC, is reporting the Hawks will offer a max deal with birds rights / 6 years $119 mill.
JJ would have to leave $27 mill on the table to sign with another team for 5 years $92 mill.
There is another post with a hoopshype link saying JJ want to stay in Atlanta.
Reading is fundamental try it.
Yeah I probably can't read. It's tough being a dumbass. Just be thankful you don't have to go through life being like me.

Has Joe agreed to a S&T or has he simply signed with no word of the outcome? Has he not signed and he becomes a FA at midnight? I have been away all day and don't have a clue. (No jokes please.)
What is going on?

M Williams replacement??? Hahahaha. This guy couldn't wash William's underwear!
-
The Hawks already know all there is to know about JJ. If they don't I will let them know now. He sucks.

Jeff Teague given the opportunity, has the chance to put up some really big numbers. In the few minutes he had I saw him run down fast breaks and had some Jsmoove type blocks. The talent is there, I see him taking the same path as Deron Williams of Utah, an unimpressive rookie year, but flourished from that point on. I'm not saying he will be as good as, I hope he's close, but the potential is there.
That's very possible if we send him to the D League. Maybe in a few years he will become a decent 10th man for the Hawks.
Let's all hope I am wrong about Teague's talent level.

No-Show Joe, just like the games he missed because of injury.
Please-Go Joe.

Looks like Teague is going to get some playing time. :line dance:
Yeah my neighbor is the weakest link in the backyard league. If he sprains his ankle Teague may get a call.

That would rule out JJ going to Cleveland. Woodson would never allow it.

"D" League Teague will never be worth starting in the NBA. However, I do believe he'd make a decent bench player at the local library.

Lets all give it up for Marvin. it's your time baby! Do your thing boy.

He's at least as good as Joke Johnson was and I expect him to be even better without the ball hog and a new coach.

Avery may not have wanted to coach Atlanta because of the possibility of re-signing JJ. If I was a coach and thought the Hawks might be interested in having JJ play for the team I would not want to coach here either.

Joe would be better off staying in Atlanta IF his goal is to win.
IF his goal is to win what?

According to Sund, the Hawks do want to retain JJ as they will not have the flexibility to sign a comparable player if he leaves.
I don't want a player comparable to JJ.

Of course it's true.
I'm not upset a bit. The Hawks do not want him back.

somehow woody installing him as the presumptive starter just reinforces your faith in woody when you think teague is garbage?
I have no faith in Woody and by Woody installing him as the presumptive starter just reinforces my no faith in Woody.

We are doomed if Teague is starting PG. The guy is absolutely horrible. He has some of the ugliest shots I have ever seen. I've seen him drive to the basket for a layup and hit the bottom of the rim (several times).
Positives:
He's fast.
Negatives:
He can't shoot.
He can't hit layups.
He has poor control.
He doesn't read the floor well.
Oh my! Fire Woody's *ss now!!

I voted no.

+1 to pretty much everything he said. We need a center but I'm not sure moving Smoove to SF is a viable option. But if I had to choose between getting a center and trading Smoove or not getting a center and keeping Smoove I'd have to say yes to a center.
I honestly hope we resign Joe. All the iso s*** and everything that happened in the playoffs this year have made people forget how good he is. Assuming the new coach has a clue on offense that'll greatly help Joe. Not to mention his beastlyness on defense.
Teague/Joe/Salmons/Horf/Center + Jeff Van Gundy is my dream but probably will never happen.
If Teague is in your dreams you are having a nightmare.
-
And there you have it.
But if money wasn't a factor, Johnson isn't sure if he would prefer to stay. "I don’t know," said Johnson when asked. "Honestly, I really don’t know."
-
I agree. Not resigning Joe would be a huge mistake. I would have resigned him from his starting role after game 2. But I can live with that because this is his last game anyway. Re-signing Joe would be even a bigger mistake.

Your best players need to be in the game. This is do or die not "lets win someone an award".
I just can't pull for Joe Johnson.

Looks like I will take another long vacation as a Hawks fan.
Dominique leaving was enough for me the 1st time. Joe staying does it again.
I missed the Hawks, but I just can't do it. We will not win a championship or be an elite team with Joe Johnson. If he was 3rd option maybe, but not as a focal point of the team. When you sign a 120 million dollar contract you ARE the focal point. It looks like the best I can hope for is a sign and trade. If not see you guys again in 7 years.
