I believe Bogut is another expiring with 14 M per year. I really would like to have him in our team assuming that he will eventually get into shape :-).

Bynum is chronically injured, lazy, immature, slightly overrated and doesn't like basketball. What's not to like :-)

They rejected Clippers' request to meet River. It can still happen though.

That is not surprising; I never understood the belief in here that salary cap would jump this year. We had a lock-out last year for a reason...

I don't watch the Wolves a lot but Pekovic is not a traditional center that can help you play Horford at PF. He is undersized, averages 0.5-0.8 blocks per game and 5.1 rebounds per game. Don't expect him to bring the inside presence of Hibbert, Marc Gasol or even Omer Asik. On the other hand he is a good inside player. He is skillful, plays hard. I would love him on our team but not for maximum contract or anything close to that.
-
Now CP3 is pissed at Sterling and the Clippers FO for making him look like the bad guy in Del Negro getting fired.
-
Non guaranteed contracts are obviously preferable but it is not realistic for NBA. Compared to NFL the talent pool in NBA is much smaller. You can't convince players to sign non guaranteed contracts, the market would not allow it.

Poor Warriors. They are going to pay Biedrins&Jefferson 20 million next year. Add 13 million for Lee and 14 for Bogut. They could have been a big actor this summer if they were a little smarter.
-
I like to keep Korver but in the East we are going to face Indiana (Paul George), New York (Melo) and Miami (Lebron). We need a physical, defensive minded SF to share minutes with Korver. A guy like Shane Battier. Maybe we can address this in the draft.

The CSKA team of 2012 was one of the most loaded Euroleague teams ever and he failed to win the championship that year. He lost in Final Four again this year. That seems like big time underachievement to me.

Salary cap was 58 mil last year and it barely changed over the last year. At best it will be 60 mil next year. Am I missing something?

Horford is a more valuable player than Smoove but if Howard wants Josh to stay with the Hawks, why not trade Horford to Celtics for Rondo? I know he is recovering from ACL but a lineup Howard-Smith-Korver-Lou-Rondo would be a pretty good. And we would still have some cap space to go after another cheaper FA.

This is from the interview with Dwight's dad in AJC:
“The problem is the coach. (D’Antoni) needs to step in and say, ‘You guys have got to be quiet. We’re trying to secure something here. Dwight is probably looking at the coach, thinking, ‘What are you going to do?’ I promise, if that had been Stan Van Gundy, that wouldn’t have happened. (Howard) wouldn’t have been admonished publicly. I think the coach has a lot to do with who controls Kobe’s mouth right now.”
Of course this is his dad, not himself but I believe his experience in LA made him appreciate SVG.
Anyway, I am hyped!

I will really hate if we sign underachieving (Tyreke, O.J.), delusional (Monta Ellis, Jennings, JR Smith) or injury prone (Bynum) players. We need high character guys.

This city needs a superstar for excitement. Good players won't do the work, we already had them for years. So for me, if we can't land CP3 or Howard, tanking to get a potential superstar in 2014 Draft is the way to go.
But if Ferry can't risk that, then I would be happy with this:
Al Jefferson (14 mil/yr)
Al Horford (12 mil/yr)
Andre Iguodala (13 mil/yr)
Tony Allen (8 mil/yr)
Jeff Teague (8 mil/yr)
Bench:
Lou Williams (5.25 mil/yr)
John Jenkins (1.25 mil/yr)
Kyle Korver (mid level - 5 mil/yr)
Ivan Johnson (bi-annual exception)
Rookie Center
Rookie SF
Mike Scott
I am not a capologist but if we release all of our expirings other than Teague who has a hold of 6 mil, we should have enough money to sign Iggy, Tony Allen and Jefferson. Then we can sign Teague to a 8-9 mil/yr contract (which should be enough for him imo). Later on sign Korver to MLE and Ivan to Bi-annual exception. Fill the rest with vet minimum and draft.
I am not high on Jefferson, I don't like his defense and he is a black hole. That being said, with such a line up, we would have a lot of problems with scoring. So guys like Jefferson and Lou who can score at will are important.
Bring'em home Ferry :-)
Edit: Of course this is based on the assumption that these players don't resign with their teams which is unfortunately unlikely for Tony Allen or Iggy unless we overpay.

One name that I strongly oppose is Avery Johnson. He had a many problems with Deron&Dirk and hasn't achieved anything at all. But most importantly that voice... It is just killing me.
-
It hurts me to say this. Zaza is a friend, I love the man like a brother. But Zaza you need to know...
-
which is the same position that Nique has and Nique had to beat up someone so he didn't have to pay for suits).
-
Zaza is your favorite Hawk?
Nuttin eazy...

He is playing amazing this playoffs. He is gonna be paid :-)
-
He is my favorite Hawk and I would love to see him here. However, if we land a quality Center who takes most of the minutes, I don't see us keeping him.
Edit: Of course I am assuming he will want more than vet min. For vet min or 2-3 mil/year, it is a no brainer.
-
My only concern with a no name coach is that I am worried it may hurt our chances at FA.
-
Haha CP3 is also ejected and Clippers are about to be eliminated. Just like Dwight Howard. How fitting is that :-)

In the west I am rooting for Mempis and San Antonio. In the east I do not have a dog but if I had to choose one, I would go with Brooklyn due to JJ.
