  1. Why so we could have 1 playoff win?? LOL just messing with you Falcon fans. I'm sure Blank is amazing

Dolphins :-) Seriously though he is a great owner. Every player talks very high of him, even the released ones. Free agents want to be a part of this team which is a dream for Hawks :-)

  2. What kind of tank you talking about. Who would you keep? Can you project a senario?

I think underachieving guys like Mayo, Bynum, Jennings or Tyreke make us a playoff team at best just like we were before. We need winners in here. By tanking I mean having the worst record next year and hoping for a franchise player in the draft. I would not keep Josh in this case. If we can land a good pick for Horford, we can trade him too. OKC Thunder type of rebuilding in summary.

  3. If we can't land Howard or CP3, I PRAY we don't panic and land guys like Jennings, Bynum, Mayo or Tyreke. Detroit did that with Charlie V and Ben Gordon. It never works. Tanking is a much better option in my opinion.

  4. Hate is a strong word but I always root against him and the Lakers no matter who the opponent is. Nevertheless, I felt bad for the guy, I hope he recovers well. Torn Achilles is a very significant injury especially for a 35 year old guy.

I also wonder how this affects Howard's decision.

  5. I would be (pleasantly) shocked if either of CP3 or Howard signed here due to the fact that we can offer them only a shorter and cheaper contract. Both of these guys have injury history and they are getting their last huge contract. They won't risk 25-30 millions.

Other than that due to cap, it is not possible to sign Smoove, Teague, Harris, Korver along with CP3&Howard while keeping Horford. Besides, I think Smoove at small forward is not a good fit due to his poor outside shooting and slow feet to defend athletic small forwards (like we have seen with Melo recently).

If a miracle happened and we signed both CP3 and Howard, ideal line up would be:

    Howard/Zaza (draft pick)

    Horford/Ivan/Mike Scott

    Korver/Stephen Jackson

    Lou/Jenkins

    CP3/(a veteran or draft pick)

    Salaries (approximately):

    Howard: 18

    CP3: 18

    Horford: 12

    Lou: 5

    Korver: 5

    Jenkins: 1.5

    Total: ~60 millions

These salaries already eat the salary cap. We cannot sign Teague, Harris or Smoove. I would love that lineup with superstars, good role players and shooters all over the team. One can dream right?

  6. He barely said anything positive about the Hawks, all the praises go to his former team. It is a little bit disappointing, but I can't totally blame him. Apparently, as an organization, we are not as desirable as the Bulls. And that is the problem exactly. The challenge is turning this organization to a desirable one. We don't just need good free agents. We need better ownership, better coaching, better management. It is not impossible, Falcons did that...

  7. A SNT is the franchises only hope. However, what If Dallas calls Josh and says... we have all the capspace in the world and we want you and D-12. Cuban doesn't have to play nice with us. Josh might go and take a lesser deal because he wants to play beside D-12. Then there's the matter of feelings.

I doubt Dallas would give him such a contract. For that amount of money they did not resign Tyson Chandler after the championship run. They were even hesitant to give Deron Williams the maximum. Cuban seems to be very careful with the new CBA.

  8. Hm... So our starting lineup next season will be

    Teague

    Jenkins

    Capspace

    Flexibility

    Horford

    Looks good, eh?

Yeah I am kicking myself right now. We could have this:

    Teague

    Beno Udrih

    Luc Mbah a Moute

    Horford

    Zaza

    +

a couple of late first rounders

    How crazy would that be?

  9. We will test the market this summer. If we can get Dwight Howard or Chris Paul (unlikely), we are good. In this case we can resign Josh to a reasonable deal. If not we will let him walk and start tanking. Next summer we will try the market once again and draft a promising player. If we fail at the market again, we will keep on tanking and keep on piling promising players hoping that we don't repeat previous draft mistakes like 2005.
