  1. 4. First Look: Dennis Schröder
    By Kevin Pelton | ESPN.com

    Posted Image

Through two games in Las Vegas, Dennis Schröder has done nothing to dismiss comparisons to Rajon Rondo. Like Rondo, Schröder's exceptional quickness enables him to penetrate on offense and pressure opposing ballhandlers. He used good footwork to hound Miami guard Anthony Marshall all night Sunday, forcing eight turnovers, and handed out eight assists. The Rondo similarity extends to Schröder's weaknesses. He missed both perimeter attempts -- one was wide right by at least a foot -- and he'll have to make the simple pass rather than forcing the issue and turning the ball over, as he did three times.

Kevin Pelton is an NBA Insider for ESPN.com.

  2. I like him and think he could be good but the way Bebe was getting moved around on the block is concerning. He's so small that he was just getting bullied out of position for rebounds even when trying to box out. I believe it was Samardo Samuels that was just overpowering him in our first summer league game. If Samardo Samuels is going to do that just imagine what a big body in the NBA is going to do. If I had woken up this morning and heard he put on 40 lbs between last night and this morning though...

  3. Posts like this are funny because we bashed Joe, Smoove, and many others to no avail. Just because you like the player we are going in on doesn't mean we don't want superstars. We just don't want guys like Teague.

Goodness man please retire....worry about the pelicans.

Honestly, Supes, if you're going to stay, that's great, stay, happy to have ya. BUT, you're going to have to change your username again. You're not retired anymore, you're back again, like MJ, in full swing. New username! nbasupes40retiredjustkiddingimbackagain

  4. I don't do twitter at all but if I did I would have posted something worse. We need superstars. We don't need mediocre starters making 8 million a year for four years.

YEA, BLAME TEAGUE!!! He told Ferry he wanted to leave but was forced to stay so let's all make him feel even shittier about his situation. I will make a twitter right now so I can be sure to talk shit to him too!!! YEA!!!

  5. Don't we have highlights of Jeff being aggressive in Atlanta. Don't we have highlights of Marvin Williams being aggressive in Atlanta. I am pretty sure we have highlights of scrubs showing Basketball skill in Atlanta as well. Just because someone has a highlight doesn't excuse all the times they lack that ability during the season.

Wish you would've read my whole post. That's why I said I don't want to get into the highlight tape argument. I just posted those vids because they're fun to watch.

That said, Teague will have his best year yet this year. I'm calling 16 and 8.8 just like I called the Schröder pick the week of the draft. Mark it.

  6. Remember when Ish Smith would have to play PG for Jeff because he couldn't run the offense or lead the team in the ACC nor was he aggressive.

No no. Ish Smith would play PG because Ish Smith was another very good guard and Wake's best chance to win was when the two of them were in the game. Remember, Ish Smith is also an NBA player. Jeff was very aggressive in the ACC. He used to take it to the rim and dunk nasty on people all the time. I remember watching him all the time because I was at UNC the same time he was at WF. He takes it to the rim in the NBA too. I think we all need to just chill and see what Jeff can do without Smoove running the point. Give him the ball and let him run the floor

And just for fun, here are some vids of Teague throwing down in college. Don't want to get into the highlight tape argument but these are fun.

  7. http://forums.prosportsdaily.com/showthread.php?828802-Can-Al-Horford-be-the-best-or-2nd-best-player-on-a-title-contender

Came across this thread in another forum I look at from time to time. I'm sure a lot of you do the same. I thought that y'all would find this interesting as one poster has said he thinks that Al would be the best PF in the NBA if he got to move there. Thought some of y'all might like to follow this.

  8. F&@k Joe. It was embarrassing to watch a 2 with size I've never seen fail to show any explosiveness or shoot a free throw. Just a glorified role player who garnered his little fringe All-Star appearances on size and poor talent at the position alone. He's so great the Nets went and got a senior citizen who is the exact same size and does most of the same things, only difference is he's actually helped win something.

Oh my lord Benhill, this I just ridiculous. only difference is he's actually helped win something? Did Joe have two superstars playing with him in Atlanta? NO. Did he have even one more star playing with him in Atlanta? NO. Did Paul Pierce do anything in the playoffs without Garnett and Allen? NO. You put Garnett and Ray Allen on the Hawks in 08 and guess what...we f'ing win.

With Joe Johnson we learned you can take the 3rd best SG in the Eastern Conference and become the 10-12th best team in the league.

How many were better than Vince Carter was in Toronto at his position? Gilbert was top what at his position on the Wizards? Ray Allen in Seattle? KG was the best in the league at his position at the time he was in Minnesota right? If not the best, def top 2 (Duncan). T-Mac was top what in the league in Orlando/Houston? Def top 3 at SF. Did Dirk even make the playoffs this year. I'm not understanding what this has to do with jack right now. I love that one player is expected to make their team one of the best in the league. Especially after we just watched the best player in the planet put his tail between his legs and go to Miami to play with two more superstars.

  9. When's the next time y'all think we will have a 6 time all-star on this roster? Everyone loves Al but is he going to make 5 more, even 1 more all-star appearances? Maybe, but probably not. JJ was taken for granted. If he had the personality of D-Wade or even if he had the personality of a guy that's now popular on this board, Brandon Jennings, I think a lot of opinions would be different.

Also, JJ was NOT just a jump shooter. He got to the rim all the time. His hop step and then little flip floater was potent. If he had dunked more instead of laid it in I bet you would think different. Did he get overpaid? Yes, he did. But he was the best thing that happened to this franchise since Nique.

And I can't rip the guy for dissing the fans, I really can't. It kills me to go to Philips and see so many people rooting against our guys. That's got to suck. Has anybody worked at a place where you felt completely unappreciated even though you were one of the top performers? Does that make you feel good? Because most of the time when that happens to people, they find another job and quit. JJ never quit on us like Dwight quit on Orlando, like Melo quit on Denver, like Deron Williams quit on Utah. All the guy did was come to work every day and do his job better than 99% of the other 2 guard in the league.

  10. I for one am all for it. If he works out it's huge. When healthy this guy is the best offensive center in the game. Him and Horf starting down low is the best frontline in the game. Most of y'all are complaining about being mediocre again. If we sign him and it works out, we're better than we used to be, if it doesn't work out, we'll probably stink because we won't have any money left so there you go, no more middle of the pack. We'll either be up there or we'll be horrendous for a few years. Seems like what everyone on this board wants. Bring on Bynum!
