  1. @Dolfan23 Honestly, I don't take what you say into consideration due to the fact that you like the most random teams I've ever seen. Like really, you live in Texas but like the Hawks, Yankees, and Dolphins... Pick one side of the country at least, I would call you one of the biggest bandwagoners ever but you like the Hawks so I can't say too much. Also, do you think that banning my account would get rid of me bro, I have multiple IP's to use plus I could just make another account.
  2. @Dolfan23 Last time i checked that isn't an expletive word, its a cleaner. Wasn't meant to be offensive. Respect my post.
  3. It seems as though every time I speak my mind about what I would like to see happen in reference to the Hawks there is always someone there to tear me down. Though I understand it may give some of you a sense of false hope, it gives me hope when i think about what "could" happen with the organization. Im not ignorant I understand that the NBA is a business and therefore there are many rules by which how much money you can throw out there to get these players. I just want the Hawks to make some key moves to make the team better, who knows maybe we will get Howard, its just something good to think about. If you are a true Atlanta fan then you know the it is a city of false hope, all of our teams are good enough to make the playoffs but they always blow it hard when they get there with early round exits every year. ( Which has made Atlanta the most miserable sports city by Forbes ) We all want the Hawks to go somewhere but we all know we cannot do it with the doodoo the we have on our roster right now. So if you see myself or someone else posting farfetched scenarios don't tear them down they just want to see something great happen... Let them vent to other Hawks fans. Thanks, FutureGM
  4. @thecampster FYI my last comment was directed toward you, it was directed toward dolfan23. Nor did i ask for a knowledgeable essay about why my proposed moves won't happen, I know i see where you are coming from it is a WHOLE LOT of ifs. You are acting as if this is politics, its just a topic about what i would like to see happen in reference to the Hawks. Although I will give it to you, you most definitely know the CBA rules.
  5. Ok for those of you that do not know me, I am a Hawks fan. I enjoy looking into possible scenarios that would make the Hawks a better team. I do understand that every team has a cap room and aren't able to sign all the best players in the league like the NY Yankees in the MLB. ( I know there isn't a cap in MLB) Mostly Im tired of the Hawks being mediocre at best every year, and every other Atlanta team for that matter. I want this team to win a championship more than anything but we cannot do it with our current roster. Sure what I posted about a super team didn't have a link or any concrete evidence that they are actually talking about a super team in Atlanta, but Im sure they have talked about it, especially with all the evidence that Howard and Smoove do talk about being on the same team: http://blogs.orlandosentinel.com/sports_magic/2010/03/q-a-josh-smith-talks-about-his-friendship-with-dwight-howard.html All I'm saying is if we are to get Howard, D will would also want to come play in Atlanta. I do realize we wouldn't be able to keep Horford, I am just a HUGE fan of Horford's and i like seeing him play for my team. Therefore, id like for him to stay. A super team is very possible but the team would only include Smoove, D will, and D 12.... No Horford or Joe, I do realize that this is a business so big name players more than likely won't play for much less than a max deal. Y'all seriously need to learn how to not jump someones case for writing post like this. We all love the Hawks and want to see them excel. Though many things stated can give a sense of false hope, at least it gives fans some hope.
  6. Last time I checked this is a forum for discussion/ possible trade scenarios, you don't always have to have a link to prove a point. The topic is pretty well known, Im not writing a biography. No need to cite everything.
  7. there's not a link needed to prove that Smoove and Howard are long time friends and have dreamed of playing together for years... Just saying that Im sure that they have talked about a team involving themselves plus at least one more big named player. A super team is a very possible scenario if we are able to land Howard.
  8. Honestly I could care less what they comment, I understand the CBA and about Cap rooms, but what it comes down to is that Im a Hawks fan. I just want the team to be good, or at least attempt to be good.... I believe the team has a chance to be great
  9. I UNDERSTAND ABOUT THE CBA AND CAP ROOM, IT IS JUST WISHFUL THINKING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SO HOP OFF
  10. @theCampster Thats the downer honestly because I believe Horford is a great fit in Atlanta especially if he could play PF instead of C. Although you are right we probably wouldn't be able to keep him.
  11. I know good well about the cap and the CBA, this team could happen D will would have to settle for a smaller contract. Although this deal could happen regardless, but we wouldn't have much of a bench.
  12. Now i know everyone has been hearing about the Hawks trade rumors and possibly obtaining D12 since December, the sweepstakes for Howard are nearing and I believe that the Hawks are a frontrunner in the campaign. As most people probably know, Josh and Howard are best friends, both from Atlanta and they have always wanted to play alongside each other on an NBA team since they were young. Which is why I won't be surprised if the Hawks actually getting him, by the trade deadline or by means of signing him as a free agent in the summer. I believe we will start seeing the Hawks make some minor changes before the deadline just to free up some cap space, not sure if they will move Joe's contract or not though. Now these minor changes will be because I believe Howard will stay in Orlando for the remainder of the season, therefore we may not see the Hawks make any drastic changes until the off-season. Now for the Hawks to be great I believe we will have to keep Joe or Horford ( preferably Horford ) which will be hard due to fact they both have pretty large contracts plus in order for us to obtain Howard we would have to trade both or have a 3rd team in the mix for the deal to go down. Even if Howard will want to come to Atlanta in the off-season Orlando will have to do a sign and trade so that we can free up some cap space, that way we may not have to give up as much due to the fact that Orlando will basically have their backs against the wall in the sense that they will have to pretty much take what they can get for Howard instead of him just walking and them not getting anything in return. Now for the ingredients of the super team: Joe would be good to have on this super team but due to his large contract we will most likely move him to Orlando, the key player to keep would be Horford. He is by far the Hawks best draft pick in years and does very well for playing out of position, but of course we already know that sense he has already made an all-star team. Once we have Howard we could move Horford to PF, the only problem would be finding a suitable guard which brings Deron Williams to the mix. In light of Howard coming to Atlanta, Deron will probably want to come sense he also wants to play with Howard. I know this scenario seems farfetched but it may actually happen if we can get the cap straight. Our Super Team Lineup: D12 Horford Smoove 2 guard will be decide Deron Williams GET READY FOR THE SUPER TEAM IN ATLANTA
  13. oh most definitely, the Hawks would have two of the top shot blockers in the league... i don't care how good the heat are, they wouldn't be able to drive the ball.
  14. I wish we could could keep Horford to make this deal happen, we already know that for Howard to come to the Hawks is if Smoove stays... Maybe we could match up the contracts by sending Horford or Joe instead of both, and throwing in like zaza, Marvin, and Hinrich. Personally id like to keep Horford and put him at PF, I could live without Joe and his waste of a max deal. Ever since Joe acquired the max deal he hasn't played worth a crap.
  15. yea i was leaning toward Rondo as well, Teague isn't very good but he has gotten better.... Knowing our luck once he leaves Atl he will become an all-star for another team LOL
  16. Anyone who watches the hawks knows that they need a legitimate PG almost as much as they need a big body presence in the middle. Now its hard to say that Rondo is actually on the trading block but i do believe that they are listening, especially if J Smoove is offered. I realize there are numerous trade rumors involving the Celtics, but the problem is that they never actually trade the players rumored. The past 3 or so years Boston has had their guys on the trading block but no deals have went down. If they truly want Smoove then Rondo will have to be included, and if it came down to it I think Sund will make this deal happen. Rondo's Pros: He is a very good defender, 2) he is very quick and can drive to the goal at ease 3) good at distributing the ball Rondos Cons: If the trade rumors are correct about why he is on the trading block then he wouldn't be good for the locker room 2) he is a terrible long range shooter/ free throw 3) he is basically a more skilled version of Teague, which could be good or bad D will could possibly be traded because it seems as though he's leaning toward leaving New Jersey, especially if they can't land Howard. But would he be worth picking up? The last few years he has seemed to be more of a nuisance rather than a leader, with that said he is putting up good numbers but just look how he treated Utah not too long ago and it looks as though he is about to do it again. D Will's Pros: A complete PG, great at distributing the ball, shooting and setting up an offensive. He can also run the fast break very well, basically he is everything you could want in a PG D Wills Cons: becomes unhappy easily, if he feels as if his team isn't going in the direction he wants then he wants out. * The funny thing about thinking of getting either of these players is that the Hawks could've drafted both of them :'( instead they chose Marvin over D will and Shelden over Rondo. Also something to think about Teague has played fairly well this year, he has shot the three ball a lot better lately. So here is my question after reading this: WHICH PG WOULD YOU CHOOSE?
  17. Im not coming out saying he is the best center in the league, or even in the top five, but when he played last year Collins defended very well just read what @dolfan23 posted. @hawkrule if you have actually watched any magic games you would see that he isn't putting forth a great amount of effort this year, sure he is getting his numbers but honestly he is playing a lot like Joe this year... Very sluggish, just kinda moping around the floor barely doing enough for his team to show that he was on the floor. I swear this topic wasn't about Collins, all i was saying is that we have a pretty decent center on our bench so we should start him some when he comes back to see how he does, that way we could put Horford at his actual position... honestly we don't need a great offensive big man, though it would be good, we just need a big body in there that can give screens, rebounds, someone to clog up the middle and provide a defensive presence.
  18. yea but i don't care very much, the hawks need to make a trade... I wish they would trade Joe but no one wants that large contract, especially when he averages 14 points a game.
  19. its not that hysterical, he is a pretty good big man. Not so much on the offensive end but he is the best "big" defender on the team. Hint, why we always play him when we play a team with a dominate big man.
  20. that would be amazing if the hawks could get a package deal that would send carmelo and deron williams to Atl.... Then Dwight would just sign with us in the off season :D
  21. Yea but then again has Dwight really tried at all this year? He hasn't been playing like superman all year. Nothing against Zaza, he did have 2 steals on Dwight last game, but like i said Dwight isn't playing like Dwight.
  22. I didn't say Josh was a great player, i just stated that he is my favorite player. I also said that he has " a very low basketball I.Q." I do understand the CBA rules as well, what i was trying to say is that if the Hawks make some trades then maybe it would entice Howard to want to come to Atl... If he wanted to come Orlando would end up doing a sign and trade and we would end up getting rid of a lot of lingering contracts to free up enough space for Howard... But one of those players delt couldn't be Josh because Howard and Smoove are friends therefore I'm sure he would want to play with him This post isn't about Collins, Im merely stating that the Hawks need to make moves. I threw Collins name in their just because I believe he is the best center that we have on our roster, sure Zaza is good but he isn't very good on the defensive end. Maybe y'all should fully read the topic before jumping to conclusions...
  23. shoot y'all are crazy, Collins won me over last year taking a dump on Dwight... he was one of the only reasons we won that series.
  24. Im just saying if Collins would work on his post moves and was given a chance to play, he could be a starter... Im not the only one who thinks so either, Charles Barkley said the same thing.
