Hahaha. Lakers on life support? They have a 5 billion dollar tv deal. They don't care about paying the super tax for 1 season when they will have 30 million in cap space in the summer of 2014. That's what was so brilliant about what Kupchak did. He got Howard without taking any cap killing contracts from Orlando. All the Lakers contracts come off the books in 2014 with the exception of Dwight(when he resigns summer of 2013). So the Lakers will be sitting there with 30 mill in cap space and Dwight in the middle in the summer of 2014 when LeBron and others can be free agents. Bet against Kupchak with a 28 year old superstar and 30 mill in cap space? They guy got Chris Paul, Steve Nash, and Howard in a 7 month span. Tom Haberstroh of ESPN and Alex Kennedy have been tweeting about this. The Lakers are set up perfectly now and 2 years from now.
