I'd take him back, and then trade him immediately after he signed for young talent/picks and a SF

The Hawks had better read the tea leaves on this one. Having 'Tits' leave for nothing, followed by Millsap in consecutive years is franchise suicide.
Agreed. Unless we look like we have a legit shot at the finals at the break, then we need to trade Milsap and even Howard for picks or young talent.
-
You can keep him with hopes of maybe making the playoffs or trade him now while his value is sky high for a young prospect and call it a day. I am calling Minny for Zach Levine right now.
Wow... He's worth a lot more than that. Let's hope that we don't do that.
-
I like Al, but if he doesn't want to be here then use all that cap room to sign 2-3 solid players and improve our bench. We could still be a really good team without Al.
-
I don't hate the idea. We already signed one nut job. What could it hurt? Let's go down in a blaze of glory

Joe is like 35. No thanks

I think Baze was our 4th best player this year, because Teague was injured and wasn't very consistent, but I agree that he isn't worth 20. Even with the cap going crazy I wouldn't pay him more than 12 to stay. We can spend that money elsewhere and help someone else become the next Baze.

Wonder if NO would trade Buddy for Sap?
Sign and trade Horford for Sabonis and Kanter.
Trade Sap for Brown or Buddy.
Schröder
Korver / Bembry
Brown / Prince
Sabonis
Kanter
I'd rather have Buddy, because he's such a good shooter and we need someone to get buckets, but I would be happy with this. Much happier than getting Howard and getting bounced by Cleveland in 5 maybe 6 games instead of 4

On the backup PG front, Augustin to ORL and I don't give-a Ish Smith to DET.
Panic setting in yet?
Well it'd be nice if we would sign someone. Maybe we're just going to throw all of our money at Horford and Howard and then sign a pg with the MLE and roll with our rookies at the 3 with Thabo. Seems like the most likely scenario at this point.
-
I like Beal a lot. I agree that I doubt Washington will let him go though.
-
Splitter does play good defense.
Maybe for the Spurs. Never looked great to me for us, but maybe the stats say otherwise. I haven't really looked into it because he played like 30 games.
-
He literally always hurt, doesn't play very good defense, and makes too much money. Let him go. Sign a big guy on the MLE.
-
What is splitter making? 6 per year? I think he needs to be let go for a second rounder or someone like Anthony morrow that can come off the bench and shoot the three successfully

I think the Hawks have a few issues.
1) I agree that we get out rebounded, although some of that is due to the scheme. I don't think we will ever be a great offensive rebounding team because we get back on defense, but we could definitely use some size to improve our defensive rebounding and rim protection.
2) we don't have a star that can create his own shot and score in crunch time at the end of the game.
3) we don't have enough shooters for our scheme. Korver is solid but aging, Dennis can't shoot, our bigs try but aren't very consistent, and Baze is just learning to shoot and will probably never be a great shooter.
Those are the three main issues that we have. How do we fix these issues? I have no idea.

We might need to look at trades right now for Wade. Honestly, everyone can be traded right now.
Trade Scott for 2nd round pick
Trade Tiago for a 2nd round pick.
Clears 11,883,334 million.
Cap room w/ Al's cap hold- 35,883,334 million.
Trade Millsap for Danilo G. and future 1st rounder
Clears 5,372,407
Cap room w/ Al's cap hold- 41,255,741 million
Sign Howard - 4/75. 1st year 15 million.
D. Wade. 4/118. 1st 26 million
Cap room w/ Al's cap hold- 255k
Resign Horford for max.
Use J. Jack for the MLE.
Use Bi on some Euro.
Dennis/Jack
Wade/Hardaway Jr./Bembry/Patterson
Gallo/Thabo/Prince
Horford/Muscala/Euro
Howard/Edy
I hate the idea of starting Howard but this was only way I could add so much talent.
This looks alright on paper but damn I would not want to go all in for a bunch of old dudes that we'd get 2 good years out of, because I don't think even this roster wins a championship.
-
If Horford chooses OKC:
I would help them with their salary dump and give Horford his 5th year by taking a contract but they add Sabonis, who we wanted supposedly.
I would then see if Boston wants Sap for that Brooklyn 1st, or even Jaylen Brown.
Korver, who would give us a late 1st? Cavs?
Dennis
THJR / Bembry
Prince
Sabonis
Who Cares (maybe Kanter who Thunder would dump)
then we add 2 top draft picks in next year's draft, one hopefully a franchise talent.
Sounds like my kind of plan

I was just listening to a podcast roundtable on ESPN and one of the guys mentioned that he is thinking that ATL feels they have a real shot of signing Dwight, resigning Horford, and also making another move or two and resign Bazemore too.
This just isn't financially possible. Sounds like a great idea, but not possible.
-
I would like to see us rebuild. If we don't resign Horford then go ahead and trade Korver, Sap, and Thabo. Get picks and young players and let's try to get this thing into championship form when Dennis is 25-26 and Lebron is 3 or so years older.

Easy. Don't re-sign Baze.
We just drafted 2 wings, 1 in the lottery.
We moved away from Carroll, found Baze, developed him. Let's do that again.
Agreed. Don't resign Baze. Don't sign Howard either (what a nightmare). Resign Horford and sign Batum. Then sign a MLE big guy, retain humphries, and then trade for a backup PG. If Batum won't come, then sign a veteran 3 and D guy that might be under the radar (not my job to figure out who that might be) and pick up a couple of bench pieces like Jordan Hill and Afflalo to improve our second rotation.
-
Jack or trade for Collison. Those seem like the best fits to me. We need a veteran to backup Dennis. I'd also be perfectly fine with Mack coming back, or if we can steal Shaun Livingston from GS that would be great but I'm not sure why they'd let him go.
-
That's crazy. I can't imagine anyone doing that... Wait the Knicks would definitely do that.

I think we need to sign Jack or trade for Collison. Collison would pretty much be a perfect fit as a backup that can play 20 minutes a game, or more if needed, and he can score.
-
we won't trade him, he will just move to sf, horford to pf and Howard to center.
He's not a 3. Not the way NBA teams are moving further from the basket. He's a stretch 4 and should stay there.

Bazemore on Highly Questionable
in Homecourt
Posted
Highly doubt he'll end up on the bench since we just paid him heavily. Even if he doesn't really improve much he won't go to the bench. I think he will continue to get better though.
