If we really sign Howard I don't see why we should keep both Millsap and Horford.
Sure, we would have top Nba combination at the 4-5 sports for all 48 minutes, but we would still have a SF black hole.
'Sap can maybe play the 3, but for few minutes and not at his actual potential. And Splitter would be useless.
If we really sign Howard, we need a (sign and?) trade.

Stretch splitter? I'd rather keep him.

Supes, I know you have a lot of AL love. But let's not deny facts. Dwight still is a top shot blocker and rebounder in this league. That means that he's a top defender. I understand that Al is a versatile defender and he can guard smaller players. That's great. However, when real Centers walk in the room.. Al has historically had trouble. I believe that Bud and Co. believes that the can fix Dwight and make him into what we need.
"He's a top shot blocker and rebounder... That makes him a top defender"
1940 nba here we come.

Scott's contract is not guaranteed. They can just renounce it and they are under the cap, so salaries don't have to match. They could however trade Splitter for a future 2nd rounder in a salary dump, Korver for a future second rounder in a salary dump and waive Scott to clear up almost 17 million in additional cap space (not including min roster cap holds).
Trading Korver?!?!? That's mad...
trading korver to keep bazemore? That's even worse

That fits. Wanted to mention that when Phil's triangle teams won they had a great ball handling shooting guard but one of the knocks on Baze is his ball handling especially being out of control driving to the rim. A lot of money involved for a not so perfect fit for them.
Phil J chose Hornacek and now rose, talking again about TPO is silly.

I think it's very easy. They let Harrison Barnes go.
You can easily put Horf at the 4 and Green at the 3. Horf has shown that he can hit an open outside shot. Same way that they would have afforded KD, they can afford Al.
Sure they can let Barnes go, but I guess they'll think more than twice before changing all those efficient equilibria they created.

Alright... Let me paint you this picture.
IF Durant decides to go either to OKC, Boston, or NY. GS will initiate talks with Al...
Think about what they can give Al. A large salary. A PF position. A winning environment. A chance to be a part of the team that doesn't depend on him being the best player on the team...
IF that happens, Bud and company are saying that we're going after D12.
Get ready for it.. You were warned:
Even if GS wants Horford, they have to give up something.
I'm not so sure they're willing to change their roster for a player who's not KD.

Yeah, that's so stupid, he should have just said "we suck".

If we could get Crowder and Bradley we don't have to resign Baze, what would give us the cap to sign Howard.
PG: Dennis 36 + Bradley 12
SG: Bradley 20 + Korver 14 + THJ 14
So guys and gal, how looks this 14 players roster to you?
PG Dennis, (Bradley), Patterson
SG Bradley, Korver, THJ
SF Crowder, Prince, Bembry
PF Al, Kris, Musky
C D12, Splitter, Edy
But I doubt Cs will send Crowder and Bradley out...
THJ out

16 M ?
Bye bye Baze and good luck.

Which team needs a PF and can sell an above avarage SF and maybe additionally a servicable BU PG?
May need a multi team deal. Which teams are PF buyers and which are possible SF seller?
C's for Bradley and/or Crowder + Nets 1st pick?

Lebron James is a glue guy... and he's a superstar also. However, not all superstars are glue guys... Kobe.
Does it really make sense?

Of GS really wants Horford we should include Barnes as a part of the deal, given that they don't have enough cap space.

Maybe we're just messing around with the definition of glue guy...
A glue guy is a not special player who does a little bit of everything, all those tiny little actions who make a team work better.
But really good players who can do that are not glue guys...
otherwise even Sir Lebron James is a glue guy.

@peachtreehoops If you want to pay Dwight $30M/year, you should go be the GM of the Nets.
Him = Durant.

Why not Good Player = Glue Guy??
For all of you all saying that a glue guy is inconsequential... Would you be so quick to trade Draymond Green if you're GS?? Let's make it more interesting, if you're GM for GS, would you pull the trigger on a Green for KD SNT? Let's see here who understands Basketball and Who just plays NBA 2k16...
D Green is a good player, not a glue guy. Glue guys are those complementary players that can add their contribute by doing good "marginal" thing, which of course are fundamental to succeed, but still they're marginal.
Draymond Green does not fall in this definitions, he's a central column.
All nba teams need champions first and glue guys next.

At least we try to try to sign him.
It's a beginning.

Definitely the guy who brought us coach Bud.

My guess is that working on our new pick Prince is better than adding some expensive (J Green) or questionable (Harkless) mediocre players just for their size.

good player > glue guy
Always

1. If he moves is for a max deal;
2. Given a max deal offer on the table, GS is likely to match it anyway if they can't sign KD.

D'Mo would be great but:
1) INJ PROOOOOONE
2) he's restricted

Can't remember the year I just know that it becomes a second rounder after a period of time but I'm hoping we can use it this year. And @Spud2Nique I agree with you about Minny.
2020 if all the previous picks were lottery: 2nd 2020 + 2nd 2021

Rule #1 is a basic FIBA rule which is valid all over the world except for nba.
I'd prohibit to call time out during 50/50 balls, when a player dives to reach it or all those situation where the possession does not clearly belong to one team

Now, I see many of you would be pretty excited about Sap + Horford + DH on the court.
Let me remind you that more and more teams are going small because TODAY it's more efficient.
Let me remind you that last year's Nba champions used to play D Green (a not-so-big) PF at the C with insane Net Rtg.
Let me remind you that Cleveland this year played most of the time with only one big man, and furthermore it sometimes used to be Kevin Love (not the ideal rim protector, I guess).
Just to to point it out.
