  1. An ugly win is a win.

We struggled on defense in the last quarter but Howard and Millsap came up with big clutch buckets at the paint.

Big game of Millsap and Korver. Despite the 4th quarter, overall I see more energy and improvement on defense. Also there were some flashes of great ball movement. Our bench played decently at least.

Knicks, Bulls and Bucks lost their games, we are 5th in the East if Im not mistaken.

    GO HAWKS!!

Horrible officiating on both ends. Tanks for the gift, Denver.

Denver gave us the win but I am pleased with the hustle in the last 2 minutes. Dennis keeps playing pretty good and we somehow cut the turnovers in last weeks.

Frontcourt was solid all around. Hump deserves more PT and Scott is finding his rhythm. Bembry played way better and under control than Bazemore, who was utterly bad on both ends.

All in all, valuable road win with all the injuries. Please Hawks, lets keep up some positive momentum. We already are 6th on the East race.

  3. Our bench lost the game in the second quarter. Good effort by Baze, Thj, Millsap and Howard on the boards but we lacked execution at clutch time, too many isos, quick threes and free throws missed.

Dennis has had only 1 bad game in the last 10-12, dont blame everything on him.

Seriously, screw Zeller and the refs. That double technical shifted the momentum again. A frustrating loss nonetheless. We have to be more consistent and improve the defense.

  4. Impressive win even more that the Cavs game. Offense is clicking outscoring this Raptors team with 55%FG.

Howard and Schröder were great, eventhough Dennis had -17. Bench was pretty good. Finally Baze and Korver showed out. This team could be pretty special if we could play most of the games with sense of urgency, energy and focus.

    GO HAWKS!

Just looked at the box score.

-6 for Sap, +0 for dwight, thabo, dennis, +2 for Tim.

    Kyle -23

    Moose -15

    Baze -10

    Delaney -11

That's despite Kyle shooting well.    Humphries and Prince need to get in the rotation.   Moose needs to be out of it and Baze and Korver need reduced minutes for now.   Tim still isn't shooting well but unfortunately he's our best option at the 2.   Unless we start Thabo and Prince.

Pretty much this. When starters find somehow their mojo our second unit let us down. Obviously we lack talent but we can be a pretty good team if everyone contributes. We still rely on individual perfomances and good chemistry is badly missed, mostly on defense.

Like someone pointed out, Bud is slow and stubborn making adjustements. Bud has not yet been able to assign roles properly to the team. I get the impression that we could get more out of Prince and Humphries. Bud is too enamored with Muscala and Korver. I mean they are decent role players but I think they shouldnt play around 25 minutes. We miss scrappiness and tough guys.

An absolutely perfect reason right there. So many feel the same way. I just happened to be in the right town when they moved to Atlanta.

My case is funny, it was because on the cover of a stickers album there was Nique doing the classic tomahawk. Also I was impressed with Spud Webb, so I fell in love instantly with the Hawks.

  7. Loved the effort but we have to keep energy and focus for 48 minutes. Dennis is in All-Star mode though he has to cut some turnovers. Since his recovery Millsap is a beast, what a stat line. Like the great @lethalweapon3said in the chat, "Millsapkoumpo".

Hardaway really needed that clutch three. We are playing better offense with him in the starting line up. Muscala struggles a little bit in defense but his shooting is great. Im pleased with Howard defense in second half.

    Lets keep up the momentum.

I still remember that possibly being our worst draft ever.  Four first rounds picks and they were all terrible (maybe a slight exaggeration).

What memories. if I recall only Jason Terry was a good pick that year. Dion Glover was so so and Bowlder directly was a bust.

  9. Russell Westbrook is a heck of a player, he outscored us 16-15 in the decisive 3th quarter. At least we fought hard and Korver played better from the bench. If we could do the same with Bazemore... He is playing like crap, 36% FG and 29%3P is unacceptable. I'd try next game with THJ starting. There are other players with similar contracts like Baze playing in second units like Crabbe and Evan Turner. He is better suited as a energy player.

Im starting to doubt about Howard. Often he disconnects from the game after some plays against him like Oladipo dunk and some silly turnovers. He shows he is not a mature player at 31 years old, Im wondering if this is the definitive version of Dwight, hopefully not.

Also when was the last time executing end of game play? Last year we were really bad losing on all OT and missing every last shot. Bud still has some work to do in this type of plays. Maybe we lack talent and a go-to-guy in late game decisions.

    Some positives from the game:

    - Dennis is playing much better in the last 5-6 games, he has found a nice groove. He plays more under control and his defense is mostly on point. Last night he missed some layups but this Dennis version is pretty decent.

    - We should run more plays on Millsap. He is by far our best player.

    - Good effort from the second unit. Korver, THJ and Muscala played well. Im a bit worried about Delaney though I think we need a veteran PG as a stabilizing force.

  10. It looks like Bud is too scared to shake things up, it was painfully obvious that this ship was sinking and hitting new lows at every week. Maybe he has no Plan B, I dont know.

Im starting to think that Dwight ejection in Charlotte was a turning point.  And its sad because the East is more wide open than ever with Cavs struggling as well.
