This is exactly the way not to use Roland Rating by its defition.

Not saying that the argument of the need for a better top 2 players is wrong...

it's simple...refs are looking the other way when Wade gets fouled most of the time...Atlanta got that tic tac foul at the end that made it a 3 point shot, but on the following play Wade also got fouled as it shows on my dvr...he got upset but the ref laughed at his face...I've been noticing this ever since last year...the NBA officials are participting on this and it is unfair to a player with such gifted ability.. NBA my a$$...NO WAY!

We made our run in the 4th with Childress as PG, either Law or Lue did nothing when they were in. The only "PG like" passes I saw were made by Smoove.

It's definately a measuring stick in a sense that it is certainly a game we SHOULD win. If we want to be over .500 these are the games we should take care of.

I'd say, at any point when it looks like we are dropping out of the playoff race.

Georgia got beaten by Iceland 75-76 and most likely won't qualify for division A.

Georgia led 74-72 with 11 sec's to go when Zaza got to the FT-line, made the 1st, missed the 2nd (75-72). Iceland Guard Logi Gunnarson was fouled with 7 sec's left. He made the first FT (75-73), missed the 2nd, got the rebound himself, swings a pass to Jakob Sigudason behind the 3pt line and dang Georgia lost 75-76.

Like BigDirty said he's NOT even playing to qualify for the European championships. (this could be editorial mistake by Sekou too) Hopefully he knows what he's talking about when sharing his feelings about the Hawks & the playoffs.

Not saying that your statement by any means is wrong. But, if Donaghy's reveal is that referees X, Y & Z (+17 others) have attended casinoes and played roulette - it is hardly evidence for "star treatment". It would be against the agreement between the refs and NBA, but might have nothing to do with actual basketball. If the refs were gambling on basketball games then it might be another story.

It's amazing how his stock has risen. The hype machine has really started to work for him. A lot depends on how he does in workouts.

Koponen plays for my hometown team here in Finland and was not projected to be in the draft before the hoop summit in Memphis where he got very good evaluasions after playing against Mayo etc., holding his own and gaining the starter PG role of the international squad.

He is not afraid to shoot and can be deadly if he is on. It's only his first year to run the team (was BU last year) as a starting PG and lack of experience shows at times. His ability to keep his play under control has improved vastly and he sees the fllor well. How his game and translates to NBA is quite difficult to say given that the finnish league is so much weaker, but in Memphis he seems to have been able to compete very well.

He will most likely pull out from the draft, sign with a good team in Europe to face better competition to improve his game and enter the draft next year. At least, this was the thinking before the hoop summit which "popped him out of nowhere".

If you disregard his point #1, what do you guys think about #2 & #3?

IMHO you underestimate the positive impact of competing and winning to motivation and confidence, but I can respect your opinion when you have had a look of how team dynamics work from the coaching POV.

I had to run it like 50 times before Hawks got #1 - I started to think they had built in the "hawks will never get #1"-rule.

By the way are there still others (like DrReality (?)) who think the lottery is rigged? As there is no point to be pro-tank if you honestly believe the lottery is rigged.
