I am very excited Joe Johnson will be in an Atlanta Hawks uniform next year. I think that a backcourt of him and Childress will be a big matchup problem for other teams. He will represent us in the All Star game this year, and hopefully take us to the playoffs this season. As far as a Center goes I think we should sign Steven Hunter this year and let him start, and then make a run at someone like Ben Wallace in FA next year or use a draft pick on a Center.

I think it is possible. JJ wants to play here, I'm sure the Bulls would sign and trade Eddie Curry for Al Harrington now because Curry can't be insured(and we wouldn't even have to give Curry max dollars), and Dally and the 76ers are millions of dollars apart if we offer Dally the max I don't think that Philly will match JJ Chill Smoove Curry Dally 6th Man: MWill

I really want us to sign both Joe Johnson and Eddie Curry, and if we do sign both of them we may be a playoff team this year. But neither of them are legit superstars yet, and next years FA class is filled with them. One superstar I would love to have is Ben Wallace. He is everything I want in a Center and he happens to have a very healthy relashinship with Mike Woodson. If Larry Brown leaves the Pistons Big Ben may not be happy, and I would think we would have a strong chance of landing him in Atlanta. This year: JJ Chill Smoove Harrington Curry 6th Man: MWill Next Year: JJ Chill Smoove Curry Wallace 6th Man: Al Harrington Not to mention that MWill and Salim would also be coming off the bench. Next year we MAY be viewed as a POSSIBLE playoff team, but with this line-up in 06/07 WE WOULD BE VIEWED AS SERIOUS CONTENDERS!!!

He's a young, athletic center who is about to enter the prime of his career....BUT... He isn't the defensive Center that I want us to get(I feel like there is more athletic, SHOTBLOCKING Centers out there like Dally and Chandler) I wouldn't mind us getting Curry, but I feel we need a shotblocker like Dally or Chandler...SOMEBODY PLEASE MAKE ME 100 PERCENT FOR EDDIE CURRY!!!!

Got this from the ESPN Boards: According to reports, the "big name" radio talk show host there ("Gambo") announced that he had spoken in depth with JJ, and that Johnson will be taking the big money Hawks offer due to his being "furious" that the Suns gave Quentin Richardson big money last year and strung him out after promising differently. Apparently the structure of the Hawks offer is heavily front loaded and can't be matched, to say nothing of hopes of having enough $ for Amare Stoudamire next year.
