  1. Howdy BHD ! I'm still here. Ya' know, ya' just gotta' feel sorry for the poor people of Iraq. I mean, they're finally rid of their corrupt government and system and end up being taken over by an even more corrupt one !
  2. ".........the Hawks don't need any disscussion about them." That statement does pretty much sum it up, now doesn't it ?
  3. USA -vs- Iraq = 1996 Chicago Bulls -vs- Jr. High girls Don King wouldn't have a prayer promoting this one. Vegas wouldn't even make book on it. It's hard to believe they're actually trying to sell tickets to this one again ! And it's beyond ridiculous that the Gov't/press have actually gotten people to take it seriously. [the fact that Iraq really poses a legitimate threat] Is it a hoax ? Well, not technically --- but it's extremely deceitful and deceptive. But that's what has to be done with the American population because they are too affluent, soft and far removed from reality to back a war from a purely strategic longterm standpoint.
  4. I did not present any theories in my post........ Say, you'd better run back over to your area of competence before those spiders on the ceiling eat you for lunch.
  5. "I watched that pathetic boxing match last night. Tyson supposedly knocking this guy out in the first 49seconds of the 1stround. All this hype that this Etienne guy would put up a good fight were moot. Heck Etienne even had Mystikal rapping to his song "Danger" for his entrance music" ______________________________________________ Hmm, all of this seems like far too good of an analogy to pass up ! Can we say "USA -vs- Iraq", boys and girls ? Amazing that the same brains that can see through one hoax cannot see through the exact same hoax with a different promoter. Emotions and trust cause blindness.................
  6. So what you are saying is that firing himself would be the only respnsible thing to do at this point ? Would be the ultimate show of accountability ? Couldn't agree with ya' more Babcock's main problem is that he waits to long to act. Lon should have been fired after 20 or less games last year. Sometimes it takes time for something to work out as planned. But I'll betcha' that most of the time when something isn't working, it probably isn't going to. He holds himself accountable, but also seems far too convinced that his original decisions are correct to change course in a timely manner. He admits making mistakes --- but only after the ship is sitting on the bottom of the ocean. Pride Goeth...........
  7. >Last time, it was that "you people" have a "herd mentality" >with regard to the idea that Kwame Brown would be a good >draft pick for the team prior to last season's draft. And that's what all of you did. Don't blame me, I was simply making an observation. There was no clear-cut Shaq-like player. No one even close. And forgive me if I find it hard to buy that 30 people decided to fixate on Brown --- and all came to this conclusion without being influenced by one another ? Never. >Now, it's "you people" have a "herd mentality" with regard to >anti-racism. Give me a break! Ya'll do [but I'm sure that like with Brown, all of you will swear that you arrived at your feelings independently. Yeah right, just like the racist majority back in the 40's all arrived at their racist feelings independently -- no chance] >Just because many people on this forum believe that racism >is wrong does not mean they believe it is wrong because of >some "herd mentality." Herds will always have some type of logical reason for doing what they do. It will make sense to them. Call it 'justification", if you will. It's pretty obvious that people don't want to believe that they are mindless pieces of their social order. Let's look at two examples. 1. Religion Religions are based on notions so preposterious that it would difficult to sell to a 6 y/o --- yet the majority of the US population departs from sanity, justifies their beliefs to one-another and I'm sure claim that it was an independent decision. But it couldn't be ! Why ? Because no sane individual would ever believe in virgin births, men walking on water or rising from the dead --- unless their was something else at play. Guess what it is................. 2. Patriotism Young men and women join the military and willingly go off to wars and risk "dying for their country". They, along with their nutty society use many types of [seemingly] logical reasons to justify this practice. And they will tell you that they decided for themselves that this was "right". But again, this could not be so. Why ? Because no one in their right mind would ever intentionally go into a situation where there was a high chance of being killed ! Guess why they do it... Just because there is a set of justifications behind popular beliefs, doesn't mean that the believers aren't behaving like a herd. >That being said, I certainly form OPINIONS of individuals >based on what they say and do. I think we all do. Yes, but once you've known one, you've known them all --- seemigly. They can all argue about which color to paint the house --- just not whether to paint it at all. They can argue about what should be on a flag --- but not whether such symbolic nonsense should even exist in the first place. They will debate at length what should be done as a result of the 9/11 attacks -- without ever stopping to see that the so-called attacks almost certainly could not have been pulled off as explained. Christian's will debate at length about whether Catholic's or Baptist's are the "Closest to God intentions"--- yet will not give an atheist the time of day. People must have a set "givens" in order to think and form opinions. This is when they feel comfortable 'thinking'. In fact, they don't feel comfortable without "givens". The inherant need for "givens' is the reason people move in herds without ever realizing it. >You may be off base but you are certainly entertaining. By >the way, that is an opinion not a judgement. All of you are entertaing to me as well.
  8. "Whatever you need to believe so that it's easier to hate anyone not like you." "Hate" is not a good thing, regardless of reason. No one reason is any worse or counter-productive than another. But "hate" iis something that cannot be legislated out of existense. Legislation cannot change what is in the heart. And having something shoved down ones throat will always result in either choking, puking or both............. [some of you amaze me the way you expend so much effort attempting to understand and debate things in their most complicated forms]
  9. Your post was one of the most foolish things I have ever read. >Do you honestly think that I'm against racism because it's >he trendy thing to think??" Yes. >I'm "moving around in a herd" for thinking that people who >hate because of race are wrong and a detriment to >society ?? Yes. >#1 I don't claim to live by the Bible. You should. It's a good teaching. >#2 Your claim that anti-racists are as bad as racists shows >how out of touch you are. Ever question whether being "in touch" was really a positive ? Remember the "forrest for the trees" thing ? >Anyone as foolish as that post......... No foolishness in my posts. >makes you sound shouldn't be telling people what or why to >think. Oh, yes I should !!!!
  10. "I think being a racist piece of garbage is reason enough to "jump on" someone" No, it isn't. Anti-racism is simply the current pasture that the average American sheep is grazing. Just like being racist was "proper" 50+ years before. Those people were just as convinced they were right are all of you are. You people are so caught-up in your currently popular "ideals" that you fail to see that what you are missing is the fact that you're moving around in a herd like a bunch of stupid ruminents ! BHD can hate-on or like someone for any reason he chooses. Your "judging" him is as bad as anything you're accusing him of !! If you don't believe me, go look it up in that Bible that most of you claim to live by the teachings of.
  11. When asked to name his all-time top five back in the early 90's, Michael Jordan responded.. " Me, Magic, Larry, McHale or Malone, Kareem. Charles Barkley on McHale. "Kevin McHale is the best player I ever played against in my life." Billy Cunningham while coaching the Dr. J Sixers.... "Mchale is the one who keeps me awake at night. He's an impossible matchup". "Opponents used to spend hours breaking down film frame by frame trying to see how he did it". Do you really think such accolades could come from such people if this man was not "beyond awesome ?" You are really just plain wrong on this. Your statement on Mchale is clueless. Do you know more than MJ and CB ? And MJ and Barkley are black !! And Barkley doesn't even like whites !!! McHale might actually be top 10 --- if players and coaches who had to deal with him were in charge of selection. Dominique was correctly left off on the list. He was a horrible ball hog. Did not win. Did not have fluent moves. Could not handle the ball. Was a marginal rebounder. And not a very tenacious defender. Not really much behind all the flash.
  12. Kruger was hired to lose --- cheaply. Why pay a coach big money and give him no talent ? But that was then..... Kruger should have been fired after 20 or so games LAST YEAR, imo.
  13. Sam Smith is the basketball writer for the Chicago Tribune. Also, the author of the book, "The Jordan Rules". It was probably a freelance piece he did for ESPN. I still take Dog for Toni, anyday. Smith may be biased because of a loyalty to Toni. Or angered that the Hawks dealt him to the Bucks as opposed to the Bulls, which is where he supposedly wanted to return.
  14. "3. Deke. Just missed #2 He is the only player that can play Shaq one on one" That's the most hillarious statement you've ever written. No further comment.
  15. You continue to attempt to make this case against Kobe because he plays with Shaq. I don't buy it. Sometimes playing when you are 'the man' can make a player look better that they actually are. Ever think of that ? Was Magic not deserving of his status because he had Kareem, Worthy, Wilkes, etc ? Havlacek, Cousey not good because they played with Russell. Did Bird only appear good only because of his supporting cast ? Did Shaq ever win without Kobe ? Absolutely not ! How are you so sure the dog is actually wagging the tail in this case ? One thing is for sure, whether it's the NBA or on a playground -- it's about winning and until T-Mac wins something -- he cannot be favorably compared to Kobe. There have been many great individual players. Gervin, Archibald, Theus, Barkley, etc who could not find a way to win. They are not in the same class as those who do. Cannot be. It takes more than individual talent to win. It takes the ability to be great while playing team ball. The ability to fit in and be a piece of a puzzle. Kobe hs done this and until T-Mac or any of the other wannabe's find a way to knock him out, he remains solidified in that position.
  16. What about Olden Polynice ? He should be available. Oakley is still the type of toughness we need. I wouldn't take Ewing. He still thinks he can do more that what we would sign him to do. This could cause some problems.
  17. I'm going to take Diesel's side on this one. Too many people piled up on one side of the boat on this issue -- for them to be right. Remember the Kwame Brown Titanic we had here only last year ?
  18. The SAR trade was nice -- but costly. This one we completely stole. Only time will tell as to team performance. There may be no way to tell. We haven't won anything yet. Dog managed to lose with talent in Milwaukee. There's no excuse for this team to finish lower than 3rd in the east, considering the talent. Also, everyone's shot's-per-game are cut down big time. Dog can jack it up with the best of them.
  19. http://www.proexposure.com/stories/0720l.cfm.txt Diop !! 14 blocks is worthy of note even in summer league. Might this kid yet live up to billing and eventually become the Shaq stopper ?
  20. Iverson will not get away with things like this 9 out 10 times because of his star status. Petty things like this would not even be pursued by the authorties unless the person involved was Iverson or a similar star. This is a complete NOTHING press created crock of BS ! No legitimate crime commited here deserving of wasting time and tax dollars with. And I don't even like Iverson !!
  21. You must understand that Kareem was arguably the greatest player in history. Even late in his career, he was capable of overmatching his opponent every night. Why Johnson gets so much credit for that Laker dynasty, I'll never know. Also, Worthy was basically a mismatch in the Lakers favor each night as well. You still have McAdoo and probably some I forgot. Point being, Johnson was much more blessed with talent than Stockton -- and yes-- that includes Malone. I doubt that Johnson would have won anything without Jabbar. However, that would not have been the case the other way around. Do I think Stockton is better than Johnson was ? Absolutely not. But it has nothing to do with your arguments. Johnson better than Jordan ? You must be JOKING !! To quote Magic himself, "There's Michael, and then there's all of the rest of us". Johnson could have never scored consistently enough to carry a team. He had the luxury of never being the focal point of the defense because of Kareem, Worthy. He couldn't shoot well. He was, however, a crucial piece of a perfectly calibrated machine. As was Bird. But nobody. I mean nobody, in history could EVER have single-handedly won one ring, much less six with what Jordan had to work with. Johnson could not carry Jordan's jock. Even he admits it !! Why can't you accept it ?
