We've now beaten the two best teams in the West to start off the year....Let's quit the Woody bashing until it's merited.

Having one of the 5 worst records in coaching history doesn't merit bashing? We're 4 games in and we've already lost one we shouldn't have. I'm as happy as the next guy, but Amare was not playing and we barely won. What if he had played, and well? We would be sitting at 1-3 with Boston on the horizon. I'm a realist. I saw many good things last night. I also saw many of the same old problems.

How on earth can you [censored] and moan after we just beat the 2 best teams in the NBA last year??

And lost to the #2 team in the EC by 1 point AWAY.

Woody has these guys playing above their heads...Enjoy it and quit bitching.

  2. More than anyone I have ever seen in my life.

"Yi is the best player in this draft"..."no..wait...Horford is the best player in the draft"..."no...wait...The hawks NEED to draft Noah!! Anything else is stupid!!!"

Do you ever actually analyze players abilties?? Or do you just mindlessly listen to espn.com.

  3. Yes, lets go ahead and get out of the way that I am grateful for the way he played vs. the Mavericks and that awesome game winning shot he had against the Nets last year.

Aside from those two games, I truly believe having Lue in the game for an extended period of time really, really hurts this team.

He thinks he is such a better player than he is...He is such a freaking ball hog for a point guard...We need someone who will penetrate and distribute the ball...Not some slow footed PG that will drive to the basket and either throw up a bad lay up, or stop and take an off balance shot...IT IS OK TO PASS THE BALL!!!

And don't even get me started on his defense...He is literally the WORST defensive PG in the league...Absolutely awful...His inability to play defense and efficiently distribute the ball really hurt us, particularly when he's in at the end of the game.

I don't care if Acie Law is a rookie, why was he not in for the entire last part of the game???

Sorry for the rant to all the "Lue Fans"...But I am really getting fed up with him.

He'll have a GREAT game about 1 out of every 10 times...Then again when you hog the ball and take all those shots, you're bound to get lucky a few times...

  4. I expect Woody to prove a lot of people wrong this year.

He gets a bad rap because he was put into an awful situation.

With the level of talent on his teams, could any coach have really won more than 13, 26, then 30 (with an injury ravaged team) games??

We have been the youngest team in the NBA the past three years...How are we supposed to win like that??

I am one of the few that thinks Woody is a fine coach...We have slightly overachieved on our record every year he's been here, except maybe last year, and that was due to injuries.

  5. I don't even have class today, but I woke up at 5:45 this morning and have been doing nothing but thinking about the game!!

Many probably will not give us a chance to beat the Mavs, but wouldn't it be sweet to just whoop that ass and give the few people in the media who have been building us up (Hollinger) some more ammo to get a good rep for us out there?

I, like most here I'm sure, am jacked up for this game!!

    woohoo.gifw00t.gif

And If I had enough money for tickets and gas, I'd be there to cheer them on...For all of you that are going to the game, BE LOUD!!!

Here's to hoping for a great start to a season that isn't over after just 82 games!!

    eheheh.gifeheheh.gifeheheh.gif

  6. I can't think of any other "big name" player out there that's available.

Seems like weird timing to come out with something like this...I would have expected this in the offseason, but 2 days before the season starts???

    Strange...

Kobe is the only one that comes to mind for me.

I would have to figure JJ would have to be included in the deal, though.

Plus, as I've heard, Kobe wouldn't want to come here anyways.

    What do yall think??

Before long, they will be begging teams to trade for him.

Begging teams to trade for a kid who is one of the best 2 or 3 centers in the league at the age of 22???

    something.gifsomething.gif

What kind of crack are you smoking??

They are going to hold onto him for as long as they can.

Honestly, I think the only player in the ENTIRE league you trade him for straight up right now is LeBron James.

If we offered JJ they would laugh at us and hang up.

I'm not going to believe it until I see it. For the most time, in preseason, teams are a lot more careful. They rest their best players (like we did today). They take injuries (even little ones) far more heavier and cautiously play players. They search for good rotations without really respecting the score or the flow of the game. For that reason, I can't put a lot into a winning record during preseason.

And even with all your excuses, 87.5% of teams that have a 75% win % or better in the pre-season goes to the playoffs that year.

Ignore it if you want, but that is a staggering number.

  9. Someone threw a stat up here recently that was backed up by 82games.com that said this:

Over the past 6 years, 21 of the 24 teams that had a 75% win % or higher in pre-season made the playoffs...One of the 3 that didn't was the Rockets when McGrady and Yao were both injured for a big chunk of the year.

I think our performance so far is a huge indicator of success.
