  1. Hey guys, if you have comcast you can go to on-demand...nbatv...draft profile

This way you can check out different people in the draft...I really like Foyle after watching everyone else.

I think this guy would be an immediate impact on our team. Anyway check it out.

  2. Let me get you back on board...

New vs. Used: There will always be that group who will buy new cars and homes, but it won't crush the industry it will help. Think about it, if the used market booms then the new market will be forced to lower their prices which will slow inflation while people are receiveing more money in their pay. Also with used cars being un-taxed it will boost our ability to sell them overseas(There is already a huge market for them).

The Checks: Some will be done paper-less, much like military pay, plus this will give an incentive for others to get bank accounts, which will increase the banking industry(their ability to lend will flourish). Printing hard checks will be automated as well, making the people needed minimum.

Jobs: So what! Should we get rid of copier/computers/robotics/automated telephone switchboards/the internet/etc...those thing made thousands of jobs irrelevent. CPA's and the like will have to adjust, just as secertaries had to. Accountants will still be needed, just not as many tax accountants. Hey if a wonder pill comes out for fat loss, then I must adjust as well.

  3. As a trainer, when someone mentioned Chill being slow before the game I paid extra attention to that tonight.

I noticed that Chill moves like a receiver and not a running back. To effectively guard 2's he needs to shorten his steps/slides, move his feet faster and increase his reaction speed in his calves and quads. He moves faster when he's looking to move in a straight line for 4 or more steps, but when changing directions his movements are not as quick due to the bigger steps. He could probable stay with Michael Jenkins or Roddy White, but would get lost trying to keep up with Vick or Dunn moving around the pocket or the line.

Latter drills/speed stadiums/quick feet step drill and things of that nature plus lifting weights with explosive movements in his legs will help.

  4. If it's the difference between winning and losing I think Al would...Al's going to get his money no matter what, there are too many teams that will pay for him(Lakers, Min, SA, Chi, NO, NY, Bos...)...the more important choice for Woody is to start Salim over Chill and make Chill earn his time back.

  5. His head is more than likely out of it right now and he shouldn't be starting, but he should get time in against other teams second squads to build his confidence and be forced to earn his position back in practice...it seems to be working to get Smoove to play harder, but everyone is different. I believe that both of them could benefit from a life coach!

I wouldn't trade them, unless you're bring in major talent and neither of them could right now. Making them part of a package to bring in someone might be a possibility, but if it's not someone like Wade(who we wouldn't get) I wouldn't do it. Therefore we need to continue to develope these guys, it's only their second season.

  6. I know alot of guys are wanting to trade these guys, but isn't it customary(sp) for NBA players to go through a sophmore slump...could this be the reason these two aren't playing as well as they did at the end of their rookie season.

I'm a hopefull kind of guy, so I'll give them some more time.

Ooh could the person who created the hawksquawk shirts contact me. I need some help creating some shirts on cafepress.com for my business.

  7. Game Breakdown:

1st qtr: we were ICE COLD...we couldn't buy a shot until the middle of the qtr, but we held Mem pretty well and caught up by the end of the qtr...the refs were horrible on both sides

2nd qtr: even play on both sides...player seem more aggressive as a team...the last 2min the line up was Lue,Ivey,DSmith,JSmith and Zaza and all they did was commit fouls and turnovers...the refs were horrible

3rd qtr: Mem got hot from 3pt (Jackson & Jones) land to extend their lead...other than that a fine qtr...the refs were horrible

4th qtr: Much better defense and shot selections...Zaza looked extremely nervous shooting free throws and for some reason Woody didn't have Smoove in during the last two defensive stands(?)...the refs weren't horrible, but still interupted the flow of the game with tacky calls.

JJ: Poor early on, but really played hard the second half...brought the ball up most of the second half and ran some good breaks that ended in Mem fouls...good shot selections and passes/decisions

Lue: Decent defense, but good rotations...missed alot of good oportunities to hit the open man low...good shot selection

Childress: Good defense, but couldn't buy a shot...missed two free throws at the begining of the game...rode pine most of the game...when he was open he didn't get the ball

Al: Struggled...over compensated on low post shots thinking Gasol or Wright were going to smoother him, so the ball went over the rim...seemed intemidated by Gasol's length...made an important basket in the last few min, but didn't play defense during the last play, which allowed Battie to tip it to Gasol

Zaza: The goat of the game...nervs...after getting a rebound and being fouled, missed two game winning free throws at the end,but...played hard all game...doesn't have any explosion under the basket and was block/smoothered by Gasol/Wright too often...didn't box out during the last play, Gasol had a free shot

JSmith: Played better defense and seemed more aggressive...looks to take the 17ft'er too often, could have driven and got fouled with the shot attemt about four times...Gasol blocked the hell out of one of his drives and he really didn't drive after that...he should have been in during the last two plays...was having a good defensive game

Marv: Good shot selections...decent defense...he did well, but needs to rotate on defense better

Salim: Showed up his cousin...couldn't buy a shot early, but came through with some timely 3's and jump shots...3rd qtr Jackson was lighting up 3's in his face

Edwards: He must have gotten mad cause I said he needs to live in the gym...played aggressive on defense and offense...his best game yet and something to build on...he may actually turn out to be a good backup this year...still needs to live in the gym tho'

Ivey/DSmith: Why in the hell were they in the game in the last 2min of the 1st half...all they did was foul or stand there...

Coaching: See above(Ivey/DSmith)...the last defensive play the line up should have been JJ,Chill,Smith,Zaza,Edwards...you're up by one with ten seconds = good defensive guards and big 3,4,5...no one was crashing the offensive boards, just stand there and back peddle

Just my observations, but the little things hurt us the most...it was a team effort and a team lose, but I'm encouraged by what I saw and will continue to go to/watch games.

  8. You don't trade Childress/Smoove/Al or Marv. Look Al/Marv may become your starters and all-stars, but Chill/Smoove are your back-up...if you're building a team these guy solidify your 3/4 postion which allows for resting of starters and replacements for injuries...also Chill can help at the 2, which none of the others can do...let's build a complete team with stars and role players(remember the olympic team had a buch of stars and no role players and look what happened).

  9. What about a comparison of defense...what have the guys we had a chance against done when playing them...That would be an interesting stat line. I would imagine that other centers have scored less on B.Wallace than Zaza, but I love picking up Zaza. Just curious as to Dalembert/Curry/Magilore/Chandler/Brown how well they've defended other centers.

  10. I'll be at the game on Saturday and I don't believe that it'll be on TV, so look for an analysis late Saturday or early Sunday(I'm going with 3 of my boys so my condition after the game is unknown...we like to sit and talk about businesss for hours so I don't know what time I'll get home). Hopefully I won't be to upset, because I was pissed when we traded that 3rd pick(this is not hind site, I had seen him play in Europe).

  11. That's great...get your education, but in the mean time work with any team you can from prep to high school to college to communties...run camps anything to make you the expert and when your teams are winning championships make it known...for instance on of my community tennis teams just won city championship at B level...I'm not their tennis coach, but I train them in plyometerics and now I have other teams that I've pick-up...Become the guy and you can work with any team you like reguardless of age...but you never know what may happen in life...Some of you may have heard of Fun World Palace & Resort just got approved funding from Dekalb County through a popular vote on Monday and with in this I'm being funded to open a 60000 sf fitness and wellness facility, because of God and the clients I have...so work towards your goal, but be open for opportunities.

  12. Zaza/Smoove: Both of these guys kept getting pushed around and both need to work explosion drills. I noticed that Kaman(who is slight) was pushing Zaza around and able to keep him from getting the ball above the rim...Smoove although he's gained some weight he doesn't have the explosion to compensate, therefore he's lost some elevation. Both these guys should take up boxing so they can gain some edge/attitude. I've trained many people who after learning to defend themselves gain a ton of confidence.

Marv: Just needs to get stronger in his legs...he couldn't move anyone when posting...other than that he's good to go.

Edwards: Live in the gym...nothing else is need

I would love to run/assits in their strength program.

OOOH! Atl CB Hall has some monster calves!

  13. Thank you again Sir...for me this is great because it's also the Marine Corps Birthday!

Is anyone near section 120, Row A, seat 11. That's where I'll be, but I must ware USMC gear that day, but I will get a Hawks cap to go with it.

  14. As I read the post on this site, I've noticed that people around here give up too easily.

People have given up on both Al and Chill. It doesn't make sense and I'm glad none of you are GM's.

Al: He's only played ONE year as a starter and put up good number, while being the number two guy for most of the season. He had a new coach, new owners, an ever revolving point guard and center...hell the line up changed from game to game. I think the guy will have an breakout season next year after having a year of being a starter instead of a sixth man. Remember Stephen Jackson was the sixth man for the Spur's, had a full year as a starter with us, did well and then did much better with the Pacers. Al will have a much better year this season.

Chill: He's only been in the NBA for ONE year. His numbers improved throughout the year...so what he didn't win the dunk contest(Mason won it and still struggles to be a starter on a non-playoff team, not that this will happen to Smith). If not a star 2 guard, he will be a starting 2 guard. One that could start on any team.

For some reason many of you have this idea that if the guy is not an alstar then they shouldn't be here. How many star's were on the Laker's, Celtic's, Bull's, Spur's, Rocket's or anyother championship team, 2, maybe 3. No team in history has ever had 5 stars on it. There are many parts to a team and that's what I believe BK is building.

I'm hoping for a line up of:

    JJ/Ivey/Slim

    Chill/Slim/DSmith

    JSmith/JWill/DSmith

    AL/JWill/DAnderson

    Curry/DAnderson/Diop

Others for Mentoring, Clean-up and Injury:

    Delk,Collier,Diaw,Willis

I'm buying season tickets anyway, but I would upgrade them if we have this line-up/rotation.

  15. I read alot, but don't post much...

As far a big in FAcy I would only go after Curry and Daly. I use to be big on Chandler, but during the playoffs I've chilled due to a lack of KILLER INSTINT! He and Kwame have good talent, but are lacking in killer instint.

Although Davis, Wallace, Amare and others are truly PF's the difference is the character of the sportsman.

Curry and Daly's mannarism on the court and during breaks speaks of men who believe that no one on the court can stop them and that they can stop anyone. True or not this is what we need in a Center. Remember Lambier was a big, slow dude, but he had the right attitude.

For those who want Chandler or Brown for their potential, you should check the BAD ASS in them first. That is what will make the difference. Duncan may not say much, but look into his eyes. That what makes him the second most dominate Center in the NBA!

  16. I will say this plainly so that you can fully understand(it's clear you understand little).

I'm not a rapper and to classify all rappers in the same catagory sound and little prejudice.

My training in Muey Thia and 9yrs U.S. Marine Corps (where I served in Gulf War 1, Bosnia, Somolia and Ruwanda using both hand to hand and weapondry), gives me the experience to know that I can handle myself.

The cotton ball comment was there to illustrate that no one has the right to throw(disrespect) anything at anyone. I imagine that was over your head.

Your hate is what will keep you from the kingdom of God. When you hate me, you only injure yourself. If peole like me, who believe is accepting the consequences of your actions are the problem with this world, then I would hate to see the sad sack of a world you would creat.

Although I don't have to prove my relationship with Christ to anyone. We must remember that Jesus was a rebel. Jesus flipped the merchant's tables in the Church to defend the Father place of business. Jesus went against the rule of the Roman rulers and the Jewish rulers. Although he did not fight his men(Peter espically) carried weapons at all times. Jesus' mission was to die for our sins, so it would not have been part of the plan to start a war(read the Old Testiment of his coming and his mission Proverbs, Daniel and Isaiah). Roman's 13 teaches the authority of the govn't and that we will sometime go to war under that authority. And yes we are to turn the other cheek, but we are not to stand there and continue to get slapped. We are to forgive our brother 70x7, but we are not to continue to be abused by them. So before you use Christ understand the nature of Christ and when it come to the fullness of God, don't get me started on the Old Testiment and before you think it Jesus said of the Old Testiment "I come not to destroy, but to fullfill"

  17. No fanatic has the right to throw anything at anyone. Someone throw a beer today and it's rock tommorrow. Fans are a chaotic mob when they think that nothing will happen to them. When I lived in Europe I never went to a soccor match because of fans throwing bottles and 2x4's. In Italy they stabbed a ref.

I cheer players for letting fans know that they will be respected at their job. If I came to your job and threw a cup of water on you, what would you do. And don't say their public figures, their still human and are at WORK! So for you PLAYER HATERS who think that just because someone has more money and talent than you, come throw a cotton ball at me and see what you get(be warned I can handle myself).

  18. we'll have 23mil next year. I wouldn't trade for him or any of the others, I would wait for FAcy. Why give up anything when we don't have to. That's why I agree with Diesel about Swift(although I don't want him) why give away what you can keep and add to.

    Ivey/Pick?/Anderson

    JChill/Barry/DSmith

    Al/JSmooth

    Walker/Willis

Chandler or Curry or Brown or Swift/PDiddy

    ir: Collier/Delk/Pick?

Hell if we could get two of those guys to split time at C/PF that would be a dream.
