  1. I believe the reason Detroit stays up there is because the addition of Chauncey Billups. Although they lost Jerry Stackhouse , they did get Rip Hamilton. And they are only going to get better as a team. Not only that, but they work exteremly hard on the defensive end, and they have a very relaible bench with Jon Berry, Rebraca, Atkins and rookie Prince. You're right about Orlando, but I don't know how well G.Hill will be and they don't have any big men with offensive or defenisive presence.
  2. Hello Hawks fans! Now is the time to get excited! We're less than a month from the start of the 2002-2003 N.B.A. season and there have benn siginficant moves this offseason; some that have benefited teams and others not. The Hawks were definitely moving around players this season and for once, they look like a team that is going to be reckoned with. With Abdur-Rahim, Robinson and Terry as your new "Big 3". Although chemistry could be a problem once the season starts, by tthe all-star break the team should be unified. But don't be surprised if the Hawks lose a few games unexpectedly because of this new team. I have lived in Sacramento all my life, and the Kings faced this during the 1998-1999 season when J-Dub, C-Webb and staff made the playoffs. The weakness the Hawks will have though is defense. with the loss of D.J. for the whole year, the Hawks lost more than a "slasher", they lost their best defensive perimiter player. And the question is, who is going to fill that role? This will be a concern. With this in mind, here are my predicitions for the Eastern Conference:(With the current rosters) 1)New Jersey Nets 2)New Orleans Hornets 3)Boston Celtics 4)Detroit Pistons 5)Atlanta Hawks 6)Orlando Magic 7)Philadelphia 76ers 8)Washington Wizards
  3. I am sorry to hear the devasting news of DerMarr Johnson. It's funny, just last month everyone was debating and predicting what DerMarr was going to average and how he resembles Scottie Pippen as a defensive specialist and in a blink of an eye, he is in a severe auto-accident and his chances for playing this year are not very good. In addition, this is was supposed to be the year that the Hawks take a stand and make the playoffs and now an incident like this happens. Although the Hawks lost their best perimiter defender, they are still tough and hanging on. They(Hawks players) need to take a stand and play the defense that DerMarr would play. My prayers and sympathy goes out to him this very day. God bless. dimes4life go hawks
  4. u r an idiot! JT played pg the last 24 games of the season! look it up, and he averaged 7.1 dimes per game in 24 games. the 7 dimes is good but he did not start at pg 50-60 games, 24!!!!!!!! And I am not even a Hawks fan and i know this!
  5. Diesel i want to thank you for your support. Dickau is the futrure pg of the team. I can not wait until the season starts and I am watching every single Hawks game, and then i will really beable to see how those Hawks play. All of these 'Hawks' fans say they know everything about basketball and what it takes to win a championship. I love the game and with a passion. i follow each and every team and every player of the NBA. Please don't tell me or deny that Dan Dickau will be the Hawks pg soon....real soon. Yes! I love the NBA. Damn I am in a great mood. 2 months until season starts. Whooooooooooooooo hooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Kings will now win the championship with Keon Clark and Biby resigned! P.S. Kevin Willis signs with Spurs and Hudson signs with T-Wolves. Talk to you soon. Go Kings and Go Dan Dickau, you are my idle!
  6. "Atlanta - News has surfaced through online publications that formed NBA star Mark Price is a candidate to fill one of the Hawks assistant coaching positions. Price is a former Georgia Tech standout, and coming to Atlanta to coach would be a homecoming of sorts. The Hawks need to replace Eric Mussleman with a youthful coach the players can relate to, and the dismissal of Rich Mahorn there are two coaching vacancies." -Hoopsworld.com- Not only would this contribute greatly for the Atlanta Hawks, but the one individual who would benefit the most would have to be Dan Dickau. Many analysts(not just ESPN) have compared Dickau to Mark Price, and rightfully so. They are both excellent shooters, especially from 3-point territory. The were both solid passers in college, but were asked to score for their teams, respectively. Mark Price was the 25th pick in the 1986 draft,(2nd round y'all) and Dickau 28th.(although he should have been much higher, but this year's draft had the most international prosects come out this year wich effected his position) They are both great leaders on and off the court, and both passionate Christians. Dickau, like Price, entered the N.B.A. with questions about his defense and taking his man off the dribble offensively. No doubt about it Hawks fans this would help the Hawks but especially #12.

    Dickau

That was a perfect point. I watched and taped 5 Gonzaga games(only 5 were televised in Sacramento) and went to St.Mary's University to watch him in person. I even got to talk to him. It was a great experience. and a point that I was trying to make was that Dickau was constantly double teamed, so he had to pass the ball out but it opened up opportunities for his teammates. His scoring actually should have been higher than his average of 20.5 ponts per game. And he will not be doubled in the NBA, I will guarantee it.(exception:traps in the backcourt, presses, etc.) And since he was projected to be between #12-23 in the draft, you guys(Hawks fans) should be excited to get such a steal. Don't forget too, that the 2002 draft had the most Europeans ever, and that also made Dickau's stock drop, and for that matter everyone else.(ex:steve logan, carlos boozer, dan gadzuric, Rod Grizzard, Jason Jennings, Sam Clancy, Vincent Yarbrough, etc.) Overall, you made a very generalized yet unbiased view, which I appreciate. Keep up the good work. It is nice to know that SOME Hawks fans use some logic.
  8. I am getting the feeling that everyone hates Chad Ford..... Is this true?
  9. First of all JTFAN31, did you read what I said? DId I say that Dickau was going to be the starter this year? No. I have got to go work-out, I am tired of this constant bickering. Have a nice day, and please gt off of J.T's nuts. Damn. You jock that dude.
  10. u no whats funny....MARTY BURNS SAID THE SAME DAMN THING ABOUT DICKAU.
  11. DIESEL, YOU FORGOT ONE HUGE ASPECT ABOUT YOUR 4 TEAMS WHICH WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE, AND I FORGIVE YOU BECAUSE IN THE LAST 4 YEARS YOU GUYS HAVEN'T BEEN WATCHING HAWKS BASKETBALL IN JUNE....OR FOR THAT MATTER APRIL OR MAY. YOU GET THE POINT. ANYWAYS, HERE IS THAT ASPECT THAT YOU FORGOT....READY.... LOOK DOWN EXPERIENCE 3 OUT OF THOSE 4 TEAMS HAVE IT....GUESS WHICH ONE DOESN'T?
  12. And i can not change your opinion about Dickau. And if you don't like him, so be it.
  13. How the hell do you know who is going to be a superstar? You probably have never played a lick of basketball in your life. And the analysts I did list, say that they are going to make the playoffs. So get off of my damn back, and get your panties out of a bunch!
  14. First of all, they traded the "Great White Hope" so Richard Jefferson could start. Here are the advantages for each team: PG: Kidd gets the nod over any pg in the L. SG:Tie-DJ provides better D, but Kittles provides better O. SF: Robinson- he is a no-question-ask better offensive player than the young std RJ, but RJ gets the slight edge on d, but overall definitely "Big Dog". PF: Reef- same thing. "Reef" provides better O, but Martin provides better D. Overall, I give the nod to "Reef". C:Mutumbo-He gets the nod because of his defensive presence, although Ratliff gets the edge on O. But really, they both have trashcan-compatable offense. Again, I give the nod to Mutumbo. Bench: Tie. the Nets have Childs, Williams, Harris and Collins, but the Hawks have Nazr, dan, allan and dion. Key:exerience and coaching. THE NETS WIN IN BOTH CATEGORIES.NO QUESTIONS ASKED.
  15. I always make mistakes. Life is a correction.
  16. See, here is the thing. We all talk about basketball and make opinions, and analyze teams and players, but were not getting paid. I wonder why that is? Have any of you ever written a column for a newspaper or magazine? You just can't dis-respect or disreguard a professional like Chad Ford. Not only does he just say that Dickau is the Hawks' point guard of the future, but so does many other analysts such as, Andy Katz, Rick Bucher, Jeffrey Denhberg, etc. Hawks fans, it is time to accept the real possibility that Dickau will be the starting point guard. I am not saying it will be this year or next year, but soon. Stop the biased attitude when it comes to critiquing. Don't get me wrong, Jason Terry is a solid player and he contributes, but if there are more changes in the making you just have to accept it, because you can not do anything about it. Pete Babcock is the general manager and we are not, period.
  17. Dikembe Mutumbo is traded to the Nets for Keith Van horn and Todd McCollugh!!!!!!!!!!! Respond!
  18. And For the Kwame Brown pick, Jordan was still the owner JTFAN31! He could make those decisions. With Dickau, it was different. And he did want Dickau. Why donb't you just look it up? It was posted in the WAHINGTON POST before the draft.(early June)
  19. IF YOU REMEMBER RIGHT THEY TRADED HUMPHREY TO GET BORCHARDT, A BETTER PLAYER THAT THEY NEEDED. THERE WAS NOT THAT MANY 7 FOOTERS IN THE DRAFT. OH YEAH. NOW YOUR THINKIN.
  20. 1) You don;t know what the heck your talking about. You make all these opinions without any analysis or background info. Yes, the Kings do have a web-page for fans to chat on, but we don't need to talk about winning because we DO WIN, unlike some other fans I know.......And for Terry 'bustin' up Dickau. Their teammates you dumb $%&*!.
  21. GREAT POINT. STAELS DO NOT MEAN MUCH. IT's TEAM DEFENCE THAT WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS.(LOOK AT THE LAKERS)
  22. Please read before responding(look at other columns at the top) Soe people are just ignorant.
  23. 1979-1980 50-32, Division Champs (32-9 at home) PG: Eddie Johnson (18.5 ppg, 4.7 apg) SG: Armond Hill (6.1 ppg, 5.4 apg) SF: John Drew (19.5 ppg, 5.9 rpg) PF: Dan Roundfield (16.5 ppg, 10.3 rpg, 1.71 bpg) C: Tree Rollins (8.9 ppg, 9.4 rpg, 3 bpg) 2002-2003 prediction:48-34(2nd in division) PG:Jason Terry(19 pts, 5.7 apg) SG:DeMarr Johnson(8.4 ppg, 3.4 reb.) SF:Glen Robinson(20 ppg.,6 reb.) PF:Shareef Abdur-Raheem(21.2 ppg.,9.2 reb.) C:Theo Ratliff(12.4 pts., 8.3 reb., 3.74 blk) This is scary. Look how much the rosters compare with eachother. If the Hawks in the 1979-1980 season won 50 games that year I think the Hawks could win around 50 games. WOW! Just look at each position and compare! These stats are like identical. *Ratliff's stats were taken from the 2000-2001 season. *Current Hawks stats were taken from 2001-2002 season.
  24. His passing is definitely off the hook. Especially those left handed, wrap-around, stephon marbury lookin' passes. Whooooo! Dude can throw dimes. no doubt
  25. Did you not hear me? I said the deal would be nice for 3 years, but down the road it could be a problem. But currently, and for the next couple years Gary Payton would demolish Jason Terry. If you ask any analyist who they would take between JT and GP? Guess who they would take?
