  2. I've seen Splitter play in the Euroleague and I don't think he's a very good fit for the Hawks. He's essentially David Andersen without the part about being Australian. Splitter's post offense isn't spectacular, he's not uber athletic and while he's defense is good, it is almost overhyped by draft sites. That and he's already 22 years old so the potential is not as intriguing. If Conley's there at 11 the Hawks should pick him. He was the leader of that OSU team and is a PG the Hawks need. If Hibbert slips, which is highly unlikely, then it's a toss up between him and Conley. As for the amount of Pg's on the team: Ivey's currently out of contract and I wouldn't be terribly surprised if Lue was traded to a playoff team during the offseason. Claxton played the role of a back up perfectly in New Orleans and I see no reason why he couldn't do that for the Hawks. Anthony Johnson is a veteran whose been around a bit and still has something to offer. His contract is up at the end of next year anyway.
  3. Quote: Honestly, the two worst contracts we have are Speedy and jj. Ah let's trade JJ for K-Mart and get rid of JJ's underperforming ass. Who needs 25 points when you could have the spectacular play of K-Mart. Then trade Speedy and fillers (Josh Smith, Childress) for Stevie Franchise. Imagine the brilliant chemistry. Plus we dump 2 atrocious contracts and get gems. You idiot.
  4. Maybe in the next dunk contest Howard can get Shelden to stand next to the rim. As Howard jumps he slaps a sticker at the top of Shelden's great big forehead then slam it down. No way he's losing with that.
  5. These are the official NBA Lottery numbers. 3. 156 combinations, 15.6% chance 4. 119 combinations, 11.9% chance 5. 88 combinations, 8.8% chance 6. 63 combinations, 6.3% chance The difference between these odds is roughly 3%. That's 30 extra balls out of 1000. I'd love to see how many lottery tickets some of you go out and buy. 'BUT IT DOUBLES MY CHANCES!!!' So it's better to sacrifice a season for 3% then to strive to finish the season on a positive note in an attempt to slavage respectibility for a franchise trying to rebuild on a foundation of somewhat already malconent youth. Quote: You are insane if you believe that...play poker with me for money... ...on second thought - no - I don't need your money - It would be too easy. I don't think you'd risk playing poker with me. The chance that you might be embarrassed by a kid is just too great a risk. I'd even give you an extra 3% chance to draw an ace.
  6. I remember watching Dekembe Motumbo on a highlight video back in 2000 and decided i liked the hawks. I was 10 at the time. Then i forgot about NBA basketball until 3 years ago when i kind of started following again. We don't get any Hawks coverage down under unless they're playing Millawukee (Bogut) or Miami and it's on ESPN so pretty much never. I've downloaded a few games but this site is my resource to see how the Hakws are going.
  7. I have no idea why so many fans are infatuated with the idea of tanking. In reality the difference between 3rd, 4th, 5th etc positions in the lottery is insignificant. It's all luck. The idea is to sell the Atlanta Hawks product to any free agents ie: Chauncy Billups.

Hey guys I've been a long time reader of Hawksquawk and only recently decided to join. I'm from Australia (don't know if anyone else here is) and been a Hawks fan for a few years now.
