Mario is a defensive specialist, that is his job. He's not here to play point and he's not here to score points. Say it with me, he's here to play DEFENSE. His teammates were so impressed w/ him they were willing to go to management to keep him on the team. That says alot about the type of player he is. Batista did not make his teammates better, Mario West does.

This is the biggest compliment a player can receive. Quote: "He'll find he has a similar support group in the Hawks' locker room. His teammates were prepared to go to management on his behalf if they thought there was a chance West wasn't going to be kept on the roster." It's VERY RARE a rookie free agent gains that much respect in such a short time from veteran players. Rio will be a Hawks favorite as soon as everybody gets to witness his all out hustle on every single play. Steve Belkin is a class A pig. I hate the man w/ a passion. There's no good reason not to make the trade for a 24-year old franchise center.

They said the rumor is Belkin rejected the trade. This was on with then the past 10 minutes. Man I really hate that SOB....
