  1. Do we really have to start Marvin every game for 4 years in a row? Can we try starting Acie Bibby and JJ all together or something like that? Can we get a coach next year who actually knows offense (Mike Fratello)? This is embarrassing. Our coach doesn't make adjustments, doesn't know an offense, and loves Marvin Williams.
  2. We just don't have an offensive plan at all and we don't box out Garnett--that's it. If we had Fratello or Larry Brown as coach, we probably could have won either of these two games. I don't think the Celtics have been that amazing--they've played well, but I blame these 2 losses more on our offensive ineptitude
  3. Acie Law looked nice tonight, but we have 14 million invested in a point guard who plays well once every 6 games, and might not have a good game in this entire series. He failed to draft key players, Speedy is useless, and Bibby isn't getting anything done. This alone should get BK fired.
  4. Obviously, putting 5 cent pages on every player's locker with a trophy on it is not going to work. Neither is this "we have nothing to lose garbage." A more useful strategy would be for each player to recognize the chip on his shoulder (or a situation similar) and to let this anger out by running the basketball (we will have had 3 days rest tomorrow and for the Saturday game too). Joe Johnson: Was called out by Paul Pierce for not deserving an All-star slot The Joshes: Didn't get their extensions in the offseason Horford: May not be announced ROY in next few days. Great example Marvin: Woodson should post on Marvin's locker every quote about how he shouldn't have been the #2 pick Bibby: People question whether he can still play like he did 6 years ago Just some examples. We need to run the ball!!
  5. Unfortunately, we are lacking of a Ron Artest or Brendan Haywood or Bruce Bowen, someone who would send the message to the other team that we are not going to fold over and lose by 65 points every game. This also relates to the fact that we have too many quiet, decent players on our team, and only one legit star (Joe Johnson). Like another individual here proposed, we need to trade Bibby and Marvin / Smoove this offseason for a bona fide star like an Al Jefferson or a (I wish he was healthy) Jermaine O'Neal. Childress, Marvin, Bibby, Smoove = nice talented players We need a star next to Joe. Bibby will be an expiring contract next year and the guy just can't defend Rondo. He also restricts his game to the occasional alley-oops and taking picks and shooting tough 21 footers. Let's not forget he plays no defense and somehow gets injured a lot. Also, we need to push the tempo more. We had 4 days off before game 1, 3 days off before game 2, and another 3 days off before game 3. No reason to play Detroit Pistons basketball. FORCE THE ISSUE. GO HAWKS!
  6. By Trey Daniels After almost 4 years on the job, and despite 100 more L's than W's on his record, Hawks head coach Mike Woodson feels he is finally getting somewhere with his young team. "I am starting to get it. I am still working on some things, but I think I finally have the basics down, " said Woodson. "Whoever has the most points at the end of the game wins. Once I figured that one out, the rest of it just started falling in place." Woodson said he once thought basketball was like golf, where the lower score wins. "That totally changed the way I approached the game," said Woodson. He said he also recently figured out the 3-point line, back court violations and rebounding. Woodson, who has faced rumors of being fired, said he should keep his job. "I figure it can only get better. Now I can tell our players, 'Hey, we need 3 points, shoot from over here.' And it's actually OK if you miss the shot, you can run to the ball and get it back," said Woodson. "These are things I can pass on to our players and it should lead to a few wins." When asked what he knew about defense, Woodson seemed puzzled. "You mean it is OK to try to stop the other team? Wow!" Woodson, who was an assistant coach for the Detroit Pistons before coming to Atlanta, admitted he mostly rode the bench while Larry Brown did most of the work. "Larry was great," said Woodson. "He could tell players what a travel is. He could even explain a bounce pass to them. That is part of the reason Detroit was so good." Woodson said Brown allowed him to do vital things for him, like hold his clip board and hand Gatorade to players on the bench. The Atlanta coach said he rarely paid attention to the game saying he always found it "a little boring." General Manager Billy Knight, a self-proclaimed 'basketball expert,' said he didn't realize Woodson knew so little about the game before hiring him. "I really do very little in terms of preparation for these things," said Knight. "For me, picking a coach is a lot like drafting a player. You just close your eyes and pick a name." The AJC recently reported that Knight recently tried to fire coach Woodson, but was not allowed to by ownership. When asked why he would fire the coach, Knight said, "There comes a point when someone has to take the blame for what has been going wrong around here. If we fire Woodson, it is easier to point to him than actually accept some of that blame." The Hawks are currently 29-38, but Woodson said he feels good about the team's playoff hopes. "We have been working on these things called free throws," said Woodson. "I think they could have a big effect on the game."

    Trade idea

Hey everryone. What do you think of this trade idea? Mario West, Solomon Jones, and Salim for Kevin Garnett? WHY IT WORKS FOR HAWKS: The owners have shown they will spend money. Mario is a great defender, Salim is a great shooter, and Solomon has the size to be really special. Kevin Garnett would realllllly help this team out in so many ways. He's a vet that can help us takke the next step. WHY IT WORKS FOR BOSTON They free up cap space and still have Allen and Paul Pieerce, plus they add Salim next to Eddie House. This trade is really awesome for both sides. What do ya'll Think? Great win tonight!! G0o0o0o0o0o HAWKS!
  10. Hello all I'm new hear. Anyone know where I can by a jersey? Out here in Douglasville, Mario West was the star and I want to g et his jersey. Also ZAza played reaally well last night. Gooo Hawks !!!
  11. I swear to God. I have never seen a player so bad. He can't catch a ball. He can't shoot He can't defend He can't dribble He can't walk or run correctly. What can this clown do? He's had one good game since December (which was against the worst team in the league, in his hometown). Do NOT extend his contract, and trade him this summer for a healthy baloney sandwich
  12. I think ZaZa woiuld be a good option to start. He's really talented, just has been off recently
