  1. Teague is going to be looking for a raise, period. His next contract will probably be the biggest of his career. We could pay him, sure, and also pay Dennis. But is that the best use of resources? There are going to be nights like the Golden State or Milwaukee games where Dennis plays more then Teague, or games like Utah where Teague plays more than Dennis.  And we don't think we can really play them at the same time, so that breaks the comparison to Cleveland. Personally I rather upgrade our starting small forward or shooting guard position.

Now if you think Baze is the future at shooting guard and has room to grow, and THJ is the future at small forward and can become a legit starter, then MAYBE you could talk me into it. But I am not convinced that both of those things will happen.

  2. Since Jan 1st, JJ is fourth in the league in three-point %. He's bigger than any of our puny wings. He demands some attention on offense. If he's too slow, we can always bring in Baze or Thabo. Doesn't he still have a house here?

Bring him back. Like others, I was glad to see him go but he'll fill a need we have now, and its no commitment going forward.

  3. Unless it was the Lakers pick (highly unlikely), then I am glad we didn't do this deal. Dennis is the future, he's shown that with last night's game and this past weekend. He still has some growing pains (shot selection) but his ceiling is higher then whatever Teague has left (assuming Teague hasn't peaked).

It's fine to revisit this deal once the season ends, then we'll know where the Sixers' picks will be. I'm not trading Dennis for a mid-to-late 1st rounder, but I would trade Teague for the same offer.

  4. Also forgot to mention that I ran into LaPhonso Ellis (back when he was playing with the Hawks) and Big Country Bryant Reeves on the same day, at the old T.G.I. Fridays on Powers Ferry.

First I saw Big Country, he came in with his wife. He got up to go to the bathroom, I approached his wife and said "he looks like someone who plays in the nba", she just smiled but never confessed to it.

Later in the same day, Ellis came in with his wife and two kids. They ended up sitting at a table (not a booth) and his wife complained that it was not enough room for LaPhonso to stretch out. He spoke up and said it was fine, he wanted to defuse his wife embarrassing him. I told him that Big Country had been in earlier on and he was like "Really? No kidding."

  5. I ran into Dikembe Mutumbo a couple times back in the day. First place I saw him was at the old Delk 10 movie theater in Marietta on Delk rd, him and a bodyguard were buying popcorn before going into a theater. Then some time later I saw him at a cell phone store off of Johnson's Ferry. I remember his big distinctive smile, it was cool to see him.

I met Jeff Teague in the summer of 2014, off of Paces Ferry rd in Vinings. It was late at night (I had just gotten back from a Braves game) and we were in a store that he probably wouldn't want me to advertise. He came into the store with three other guys, he was driving a nice Dodge Challenger. I told him "good luck next season" and he looked at me and told me thanks, my impression was that he was a little surprised he got recognized. It was cool, I was so excited afterwards.

  6. I would take him, he is better than Jenkins at this point and hopefully he would come cheap. Plus he would already be familiar with the offense. Plus he could be another tradable asset, flip him to a contender who needs a shooter.

  7. Where is the James Harden on this roster?

My hope is that we are trying to be the next Houston, just stock up on assets and wait patiently for a star to become available. Right now I'd say we have 7-8 players will actual worth, if you count the 1st round picks. Then if we are lucky, Ferry can pick up 1-2 more valuable pieces with our remaining money. That's a lot of pieces that can be packaged up with picks to get the star we need. With some luck, we are the NEXT Houston, or even the next Denver.
  8. I rather save the money, get a better pick, and try our luck again next year. Right now this market is on the scraps, the leftovers that no one wanted when everyone had their first dibs. All the high-dollar guys left have baggage of some kind.Even if you look past Bynum's terrible health, his lousy attitude is still there. He didn't act motivated at all last year, it's all a big joke to him, and EVEN THEN it still works out for the guy because people are offering him tens of millions. We don't want this slacker near our young guys, we don't need to replace Josh's bad attitude with one of a diva.

  9. I hope we bring Teague back. Schröder is 2-3 years away from contributing, but the rumors of us almost offering Mo Williams make me question if Ferry has any plans for signing Teague. Too bad, I think he hasn't hit his ceiling and we'll miss his athleticism.

  10. 1. Chernoff isn't nearly as knowledgable as he acts, and he's a jerk on the radio. He is why I almost never listen to 680 in the afternoon. 2. The tweets repping Hawksquawk were very well done! Logic and stats crushed the weak arguments that Chuck brought.3. Asik has a poison pill as well. We don't want TWO poison pills on the books.4. I would take Asik and something else. It's very possible a third team would need to be involved to send us a protected 1st-round pick, something like that.

  11. I still think Igoudala would fit the starting lineup perfectly. Athletic, can play multiple positions, doesn't need the ball to be effective. Jefferson would be great on offense but I don't want to slow this team down, plus we only need "big" centers vs a couple teams in the league...otherwise playing an athlete at center like Horford is viable.

  12. Bottom line is we need to keep Josh Smith. We aren't going to replace his production with free agency, and he's a resource that would be foolish to lose for nothing. Absolute worst case, we do him Joe Johnson style...play Josh two-three more years, them flip him for something else. He'll be tradeable still, the "he needs a fresh start" mantra will kick up again, and we'll trade him. Plus don't forget even keeping Josh and Teague we should be able to add at least one all-star in the offseason (Igloudala is who I'm hoping for, he could opt out to get a multi-year deal), plus we'll have two picks in the teens, AND we get Lou Williams back. Hordford, Korver, Jenkins on the ascent...this is a good base.
