It is disappointing to see him benched at crunch time vs Okc. He was dominant in stretches, I want to see him get more minutes.
-
I say trade Smoove now. He isn't a #1 option. He isn't worth the max. He makes too many bad decisions and that isn't going to change.

You mean new chucker and old chucker? Or Ball hog and the Brainless one?
-
If an option had been "Now or later, I don't care as long as we trade him for something good", I would have voted for that. We have looked so much better this year when Josh is not on the court and that isn't a coincidence. His act is tired, it's time for it to go and let someone else be as frustrated on a nightly basis as we are with him.

Harden and Bynum should be the targets. There are some interesting prospects at shooting guard and small forward, where we don't have long term solutions. I just hope we get SOMEONE.Also, don't forget that the JJ trade did get us a #1 draft pick from Houston, and we've had some nice hits in the high teens (Smoove, Teague). So it might go down as not just a salary dump.
-
No way Bynum walks away from all that money to leave Philly. Not happening. That said, I would support taking Bynum on our team. We'd definitely have to trade Horford or Smith, since we aren't going far with Smith starting at small forward every game.

So much for the "Highlight Factory" moniker?
-
I've gotta think this is the coach in waiting. This roster is built like a D'Antoni team, so there is synergy.
-
The Hawks would trade anyone and/or the picks is it meant getting Howard and signing him to an extension. It has nothing to do with Ferry wanting to keep this or that...it's either because Orlando wants something better/different or Dwight won't agree to an extension if he came here.
-
Yes, our bench is STACKED. But don't forget there is a good chance that Zaza is the first center off the bench, with either Stevenson or a sf-to-be-named-later starting at the 3.
-
Harden is athletic, has an inside and outside game, young, Olympian, and he'll eventually be a 20 point scorer. I'd take him on the Hawks, he'd fit in just fine. HardenTeagueJoshHorfordLou WilliamsJenkins, getting rave reviews from the summer leagueBird rights to keep any of Zaza, Korver, Morrow, HarrisTWO more # 1 picks next yearDon't you think that's a pretty good team with lots of depth and room to grow?

We were 23rd in rebounding last year, hardly o.k. And it seems very possible that we could be worse this year at rebounding. The Bench will be a rotation of mainly Zaza, Horford, and Smoove with a little Petro and Ivan thrown in. So we should be fine rebounding the ball. Heck, we were o.k rebounding without Horford for 55 games.
-
...toast.Hopefully at least a fringe playoff team, but we'll be getting little in rebounding from our guards and the sf position, we have even less size than last year, and who is the go-to scorer in the 4th quarter? Josh? Lou Williams struggled in this roll at Philly. I'm hoping that we become the Denver Nuggets of the East...constant speed at pg, lots of depth, good 3 point shooters, but we might be more athletic.
-
I would take him. Our roster would fit his style well, outside of us missing an athletic small forward...let's trade for Iguodala. Seven seconds or less in the Atl.I doubt that he gets another shot, at least anytime soon, after failing with 2 teams already.
-
It wouldn't bother me if we didn't get him. His body is slowly declining, he takes off plays/quarters, I think he has maturity issues.
-
I voted 10-11, though the 09-10 team was close because of how good Crawford was that year. The 07-08 team will always be remembered fondly.

A trade is about to go down...I hope

We have too many small guards, something has got to give on this roster.Lou WilliamsDevin HarrisTeagueJenkinsAnthony MorrowOf course, if we trade Teague as part of a Howard deal, then this clears up a little bit.

Finally, a realist. I agree, best to nuke from orbit, it's the only way to be sure. We gotta go for broke in the lottery, because we ain't signing someone. Trade Hordford and Smoove for maximum value, I.e. NOW. Yes it's gonna be horrible but it'll only last a year or two. Let's not blow it this time on more Marvins, Shelldens, and A.C. Laws.If we lose out on Dwight as seems almost certain then Josh needs to go ASAP. I I don't think you guys are realizing the big picture. The Heat, Nets and Bulls are going to literally dominate the East for at least the next three to four years. We have zero chance of fielding a better team than they will have. It means we will once again be at BEST a second round purgatory team like we just gave up on. What this means is we need to cash our last two big chips in for draft picks. Trade Josh and Horford for draft picks out the ying yang and hope we get lucky in the lottery. It literally is the only hope we have in the next few years of being able to find young superstar to build around and then once age catches up to those big three teams we can be there with a young team to take over.

Yeah, it'll be hard to find another shooter at that size and strength. I'll miss his jumper, NOT his attitude. He'll make an excellent Pippen, though.

Who are the knuckleheads he refers to? I can count maybe 1, maybe 2 of those type of players on our team...
My knucklehead ratings:
1. Josh Smith: the writer is DEFINITELY talking about Smoove as a knucklehead.
2. Marvin: he sulked on the bench ANC basically called out Drew. His game has disappeared.
3. Zaza: complains about minutes and always bumps head with coaches.
4. JJ? He is a Negative Ned. Still a ball hog. He seemed to fight the offense.
5. Crawford: he got his crying started before the season began, and he also whined about Drew's offense.
Yup, this team has more than it's fair share of knuckleheads.

Not a trade rumor. A trade that we passed on.
Deron Williams with Joe Johnson and Smoove.
I'm wondering had we shuffled Bibby that way would they have given us Al J too?
That would have been sweet!!
The real question that comes to mind is are we overvaluing Horf?
Absolutely we are overvaluing Horford. Horford is not MVP material (even his own GM would say so), Deron Williams is. Plus he could be a great mentor to Teague. Sund/ASG blew it. Terrible non-move.

We're going to have more nights like this, getting killed on the boards, until we restructure our lineup.
