  1. I don't know. Vrabel is a good all-around football player. Solid defensive veteran, excellent special teams player, versatile player on offense (can be a gadget player like he was in New England as a blocking / receiving tight end). I think it was a steal. Cassel proved that he can be a starter in this league even when he had little to no help on the ground from his running backs. There's no reason why he can't be successful even if the Chiefs only have Bowe - who I believe would be an elite quarterback if he was just provided a better quarterback and this may be the QB he's been waiting for.

    +1

    I think you meant Bowe would be a better wide receiver, not QB, and you're right.

    GREAT move by the Chiefs.

  2. So do you think things like the online AJC will start moving more towards a subscription type thing? Remember the disastrous AJCSportsPlus thing where we had to pay to read stuff that wasn't that good anyway, Mark Bradley, Terrence Moore, etc....

  3. Actually, that's what I'm saying. I think the "free news" anywhere will soon start charging a rate to participate. The cost of production and the fact that there are super good pop up blockers will make it necessary.

    Interesting thought, but you think places like SI.com and Drudge Report will start charging?

    I mean, it makes sense and it doesn't. They have to do tons of work to write, research, and compile yet most people don't see the ads (especially on Drudge). But if they start to charge, their readership will probably drop?

  4. I haven't watched a full game since the NJ failure. Only some since then. I'm not going to put up with this from these players or ownership anymore. There are only a couple of more franchises in sports that can be more of a pain in the *ss than this one. These guys got alot to straighten out. This franchise is not dedicated to winning. If they were they would have fired Woody who is CLEARLY one of the worst coaches in the league.

    You guys might hate my guts, but I got nothing against most of you. The fans deserve better than what the franchise is giving. Until this team starts showing the desire to win I'm not going to stop treating them like dirt.

    Hey, I get where you're at. Try cheering for the Nashville Predators. :sad:

  5. I hope they match up so that you can see. Harris will be sitting there eating Mo Williams lunch with Mo Williams Woman by his side. trust me. I'll give it 4-3 NJ (if they are healthy)

    Alright, well, all we can do is wait and see...because Milwaukee, Philly, and Chicago are all ahead of them.

    D'ya see Harris' shot last night?

  6. Boston vs. New York.

    This will be a hard series for Boston. New York is improved after trades and they have a team that can run.

    Cleveland vs. New Jersey.

    I don't think Cleveland can beat a healthy NJ team. I want Cleveland gone in the first round. NJ with Harris, Vince, Simmons, and the rest will beat Cleveland.

    Orlando vs. Miami.

    I don't care either way. I just think it would be a tough series.

    Atlanta vs. Detroit.

    With Home Court advantage, I would be willing to take on their experience. Actually, I would much rather see Detroit than Philly or Miami or NJ or NY.

    Boston-New York would be entertaining.

    You're out of your mind though if you think the friggin' Nets would beat the Cavs. :computer8:

    Williams = Harris

    LBJ > VC

    Wally=/> Simmons

    Verajao> Boone/Yi

    Ilgauskas > Lopez.

    The Cavs would sweep the Nets. You heard it here first.

    I agree with you though, the ideal first series for us is going to be against the Pistons. We've shown this year we can beat them here and in Detroit, and they are too old and slow to keep pace with us. I see it being a six game win for us.

  7. Marvin's unusual ability to disappear on the middle of the floor showed up again.

    But really, the gist of your post was spot on. Utah is a great team. We don't have the horses (LOL) to keep up with them, period. We shouldn't have gotten beaten so badly, but there's no shame in losing to this team. Losing to the Nets and Knicks, though---not good.

    In their last game at EnergySolutions Arena before team owner Larry H. Miller is laid to rest, the Utah Jazz want nothing more than to end their homestand with a 5-0 mark.

    With 14 consecutive home wins against Atlanta, Utah has a good chance at making that happen Monday night against the Hawks.

    Side note:

    GDT stands for game day thread. Pregame thoughts about the particular matchup go here, and ingame thoughts for those of us who don't frequent the chat go here also. If no other has been made on game day, feel free to do your own. Unspoken message board code is if the team wins with your GDT, you get the next and so on and so forth. :angel19:

    EDIT-- On the other message boards I frequent, GDTs are pinned, so thanks to the mod who did it...
