  1. So Dol, Am I really supposed to continue to take the high road? I mean, do you really think I brought this upon myself? How much crap am I supposed to take from these people without you giving them warnings as you have given me?? I have not gone out of my way to talk about DrReality, yet... if you go through his posts, I get about 3 of these a week from him... for no apparent reason. DrReality is so insignificant to me that I don't even remember what he's mad about. Maybe this is his life. However, Do I have to deal with this character assassination all the time? I notice that when people talk about you, you're very quick with your moderator's hat. However, there's a double standard when it comes to Diesel. Hell you even do it yourself. Do you think because you say j/k that it makes a difference? I come here to talk about basketball, not to be insulted by every tom d*ck and harry who has a freakin keyboard. But worse... if I say anything in return, I'm warned?? Do you not see the hypocrisy going on here or what?

You bring up some good things, Diesel, and I know you're not talking to me here, but I had some things to add.

    1. I think that in some ways, yeah, you brought this on yourself. Your intentions could indeed be angelic, but I think that posters might automatically assume, unfortunately, that they aren't because of things that have happened in the past, i.e. the charmin rant, calling CBAreject a dumbass, or rendering others insignificant. A reputation can go a long ways to helping you, good or bad.

    2. Also, you can't exactly complain about this and in the same very breath call DrR insignificant.

    3. All that to say, though, you're right, some people here are out of hand in their personal attacks. Its a message board, and its sports, which are really just entertainment for us. Shouldn't get ourselves all bent out of shape. Sometimes people probably just want to argue for the sake of arguing.

    4. I really appreciate the job Dolfan and the extra mods are doing. Big props there.

Don't take this wrong, as I really do enjoy you're insight here. Fight the good fight dude, and feel free to disregard me :P

  2. Trace I just want to say thank you for having that Diesel signature and thank you to Diesel for being absolutely hilarious with that quote. Between that quote and the charmin (I think?) comment to Swish I crack up when I read them.

*Disclaimer - I'm not nut hugging, licking, or anything else of a homosexual nature by making the above statement. Simply giving props where they are due.

Ahhh...good times. Diesel was in major rant mode those days. LOL. You can still retract everything you said to me, D, its cool

  3. OK, look. I think we can all agree that Woodson is doing the best coaching of his career, for which I think we can give him props. Is he getting 100% from the team? Probably not. So we can rag on him for that, too. Some of that may be his fault, some of it not. We're not in the locker room. I think Woody could squeeze more out of the team, sure, like showing up for games against the Clippers, but I'm going to give him his due when we beat the Cavs/Hornets/etc.

Point being, don't get on to a guy for being positive, because there actually is something to be positive about this year.

  4. I hereby nominate this thread for classic status. I got some funny looks when I laughed out loud reading this at work.

I mean, really, this is turning epic! We have Diesel v. CBAreject, Dolfan vs. Mr. 7, then Dolfan stepping in and warning not one but TWO dudes, lol....

Anyway, just trying to keep it light

  5. LOL Diesel...didn't bother to read your worthless, bombastic reply. Once I see bold text, I figure you're way too passionate about insisting you're not wrong for me to waste my time on it. Look, even your chief nut-licker Dolfan chimes in on your idiocy (on the moreover business). Even AHF, who tries to avoid arguments in general, couldn't resist exposing your horrific Hank Aaron analogy. Your 3rd-grade-level ability to write persuasively and construct convincing arguments has always been laughable. You can only convince weak-minded people through volume posting. The rest of us just chuckle at the comedy of errors. I can come on here drunk at 3 in the morning, immediately see how daft you are, and just carve you to bits. You, even with the sharpest of your own faculties, can only flail helplessly trying to preserve your dignity.

Actually, I was laughing at your insistence on degrading people on a personal level instead of just arguing objectively.

  6. This team would probably be better with Jax instead of Joe. At least Jax plays with some fire. They really are the same player.

Get off Joe's nuts Swish. That's all I have to say.

Thats such an incredibly deep comeback I'm at a loss for words.

You never would answer why you think he has to be fun for you to watch.

  7. Oh really that's awesome except the Hawks haven't even sniffed the playoffs until last year so don't give me any of that Pistons championship talk.

Joe Johnson has pretty numbers (except that 42% FG number), sure. But I don't see how you can sit there and watch him play without saying "WTF" yourself about some of the things he does.

Team leader? How? My grandma could probably fire the team up better than Joe can.

Uh, I wasn't suggesting we were going to win a title. The point was that being fun to watch doesn't mean you're going to win.

Joe's a very fluid, smooth player, and no, I don't sit there and get mad at him. He is the axis of the team.

Joe is the leader by default. Sure, there are things he could do better but to crap on him for not being fun is comical.

  8. WTF what man? Is that all you got? Say what you wanna say.

    OK man.

    21.4 PPG

    6.2 APG

    4.4 RPG

    1.14 SPG

    42% FG

    33 % 3pt

    80% FT.

    Your comment:

He's not fun to watch anymore.....

    Boring.

So, players have to be fun to watch now? Did I miss something? Dude's an all-star, elite player, and team leader. Don't give me "he's no fun". Last time I checked fun to watch for us fans didn't always equal success. The Pistons have won championships, and they were no fun to watch at all. Same with Spurs.

  9. I don't care if he was sick tonight. He's not fun to watch anymore. Some of the decisions he makes on the court boggle my mind. Plays with no intensity. Looks like he sleepwalks through most games. Much like how most of the team plays except for Al and Smoove. Pretty much a mirror image of the head coach. Boring.

    :beat:

    Dude....three letters.

    WTF!?

  10. Ah, man, thats good stuff. Thanks much, I'll file that away. Yeah, I had a lot of great sports sites that I go through methodically each morning that I lost and stuff like that. I don't really keep many files so the only thing I lost was my music, but thats on my iPod. I just have software to reinstall.

Thanks again! I need to save this thread somehow.

  11. Have you checked to see if your laptop came with a Dell restore disk? Best Buy probably didn't wipe your laptop and if they didn't it should have come with a Dell restore disk that might be able to fix your problems.

If that's not the case then I would remove the hard drive, put it in an external 2.5 enclosure and connect it to another computer via usb to get the data off that I needed and then put the drive back in the laptop and format the hard drive and re-install Windows.

That's assuming that you have another computer available and a copy of Windows that you could install which might not be the case.

Well...it seems to be all fixed now. I decided to work on it myself last night and I reinstalled Vista and reformatted the drive that way, and things are good as new. I have a lot of settings and stuff to redo, but its almost nice to have a clean slate. Thanks for the advice!

  12. Personally I could care less that its fake in this case...nice job Canada! However, fake boobs are a turn off to me. Anyway, like dolfan said...well done Diesel! Maybe you're not a crotchety old man like everyone says ;)

  13. If I was dating someone who was more intelligent than me, better looking than me, could kick my *ss in sports and sports knowledge, made more money than me, and she had a better sense of humor than me I'd be all for it. I think you'd have to be pretty insecure to let those types of things bother you enough to be a turn off.

I echo that...that would be huge for me, lol, if she was hot AND liked sports, I'd be giddy.
