  1. Man, I wish we could one of those Twitter live chats for Hawsquawk. Anyway AHF, I think you're correct. Except that a heap of those are going to go to Trae from Murray and vice versa. He is going to be the open man from three and will need to knock them down or drive and score off the space given.

When you drive to the rim, shooting the ball yourself is just one of many options.  I can't believe I'm having this conversation.

You do realize that said shots at rim. That means taking the shots. I can't believe you're having this conversation either. Save the condescension for someone else. You're not the smartest guy in the room.

Murray is a point guard...not a shooter. John's shooting splits far exceeds Murray's splits so in what universe would you want the guy with the far worse shooting ability take more shots????

Because Murray is the missing element to our offense, driving to the rim. Trae led our team by leaps and bounds at shots at the rim.(300) Murray bested him @ 306. Let him penetrate and save some wear and tear on Trae's body. He is a creator and John isn't.

Why would his role diminish with the addition of another point guard?

    Let's game this out:

Trae= more or less attempts this year?

Murray= obviously more attempts than anyone who started at 2 last year

Hunter=more or less attempts? I say he stays about the same

Cap= still featured in the pick and roll and we know Trae is an advocate

JC= usage decreased last year. Not featured at all. He's the guy who suffers the most.

I think he is saying not literally them but people at that level.

Personally, I hope we can end up in a place where we've kept JC and further enhanced the roster this offseason.  I just think JC fits easily on about any roster, he has added elements big and small to his game every year, and I'd love to see him be a part of our next stage of success as our Horace Grant type player.  Seems like if we were doing an Ayton deal or something that JC wouldn't necessarily need to be part of that package (and in that deal in particular would actually be problematic)  and feel we can "dump" him at pretty much any time so why not see how the new crew takes form before dealing him for a journeyman type of player?

Correct. But, my thinking is JC has went to two different staffs to advocate his role. With the addition of Murray, I see his role decreasing. If he was already unhappy...

We need the best chemistry we can possibly have, with everyone buying into their role
