  1. I was told it was because they are looking to re-signing some players first. David was weighing up options for NBA with Atlanta this year as he was looking forward to the challenge of heading to the NBA, unfortunately with New management coming into the team and the task of re-signing some stars the timing was bad and David had to put things on hold. "It was disappointing how things fell through with Atlanta this year, hopefully things will work out in the future." David said. this is from his website.
  2. Australian Boomers forward David Andersen has placed a remarkable $5 million price tag on himself to join the NBA next season. I read this also but i know for a fact that the reporter has no facts to backup the 5 million claim. i have spoken with a family member who has told me he was willing to go to Atlanta if he got a verbal offer of 2-3 million.
  3. Quote: I don't see how you can blame Sund for David Andesen signing with FC Barcelona. This just shows that David was not serious about playing in the NBA and was using us to get a bigger contract from a European team. I dont think that is the case. David has always wanted to sign with Atlanta every year, there has been no offer or they told David to wait and see what happens. Last year was a good example I heard he had NBA out in his contract and he waited for an offer. I think he will have the same for next year.
  4. Quote: How did he screw up? I love the assumptions that you guys make around here. If Andersen wanted 5 million a year should we give it to him without having seen him play in the NBA? That would be all that we could do this year since it would take our full MLE to sign him to a contract like that. For LESS than what it would take to sign an unproven Andersen we can sign Diop and another player of his caliber to help fill an extra hole in the roster. It was more like David wanted an offer verbal offer before july. I heard 2-3m first year. Sund didnt want to make an offer.
  5. the Hawks are worried about going over the salary cap? money tight in Atlanta atm?
  6. I read this on Davids website. looks like the management did put a any kind of verbal offer in before the July signing period. David Andersen has signed 3-year contract with Barcelona. The official site of David Andersen
