  1. I don't really see how that was dirty. He jumped to block the shot. I'm sure he overreacted because he didn't expect Rose to take a shot with 7 secs left in the game. I've been on the bench plenty and when you get your chance, you play with 120% effort. That means playing until the buzzer.

  2. All Josh needs to do is run back EVERY SINGLE TIME. There was one play where he got the block, ran back as hard as he could and got an easy dunk. That's all he needs to do fellas, just run back every time, no jawwing at the refs, no bringing the ball up like a point guard, just run like a mad man to the rim. He could be the best player in this series if he could do that and it would put more pressure on the Chicago Defense than anything else we could come up with.

I agree about his talking to the ref 100%. Also applies to his flopping, get up fast man. Don't complain and make your team wait for you on the offensive end too.

  3. He hits 2 shots while Marvin was in the game all game long and who know what the rotation was.. But because he hit these 2 shot he owned Marvin? Hawks fans are harsh!

I'm pointing out where Boozer scored when Marvin came in for Josh. That is all. Take it how you will.

  4. Numbers CAN lie... the man he was guarding and being guarded by all game went for 20 and 10 with half as many shots and pure hustle (which is suppose to be what Al does). and that guy going against him was JOAKIM NOAH... GTFO! That's garbage play if you ask me.

As far as Josh... I'm one of his bigger critics sometimes but at least he showed up defensively and in the fourth quarter...again.

Getting shown up by a former teammate, thought he had more pride than that.

  5. The biggest problem, as Big Ray pointed out on the AJC Fan blog, is that Josh said this:

Just "maybe a couple?" That's all? Not "12 idiotic jumpers and 3-4 wild contested shots from out-of-control drives during the past 2 games?"

And does he have amnesia about his offensive efficiency during the second half of the season?

So no, he doesn't get it. The above statements indicate that he thinks that for the most part, his jumpers are not bad shots. Seven fracking years and he still doesn't get why teams keep daring him to take those shots.

Guess I missed this part of the blog. I was just hoping he would turn into last year's Josh.

Did Josh get this much hate last year too?

  6. 4:24 Marvin Williams enters the game for Josh Smith 30-38

4:03 30-40 Carlos Boozer makes 18-foot jumper (Derrick Rose assists)

3:46 Al Horford makes jumper (Jamal Crawford assists) 32-40

3:31 32-42 Carlos Boozer makes layup (Derrick Rose assists)

3:15 32-42 Luol Deng personal foul (Joe Johnson draws the foul)

3:15 Jason Collins enters the game for Marvin Williams 32-42

Only twice...so I wouldn't say there is enough samples. I could check game 1 I guess.

  7. “I was [ticked] off at myself,” he said “I understand what I need to do to be more effective with this ballclub, especially at the offensive end. I think Game 3 will be a different look for me.”

I wish he would've said exactly what he was going to do differently so we would know if he had the same mindset as everyone else in the world. Maybe he will surprise us and actually do the right thing.

  8. Honestly I think the biggest problem with Josh was ever playing him at small forward this year. It pretty much gave him the green light on long jumpers and loafing at the perimeter. I know that doesn't address his lack of effort for like 60% of the game, but it would stop his momentum killing 3s.

If we had the Josh from last year I don't think many would complain.

  9. Maybe someone can remember this for me, but I didn't see Craw shooting off screens in game 2. Did this happen at all? Seems like every time he got the ball it was jab -> pull up jumper(or something like that) from 3, terrible. Was he trying to be aggressive and drive or something? I must've just missed why he was going away from him strength.

In game 1 he seemed to shoot off screens all game (and make them).

  10. Hopefully part of the plan was to have Hinrich mentor Teague. I think he has a lot of wisdom to impart on a youngster with such great physical gifts. Maybe he can hand over some of that Bball IQ we've heard so much about.

Glad that Teague has really cut back on the dumb reach in fouls.

  11. If they shoot terribly for 7 of the games we played them this season at one point does he say the hawks defense worked against the Magic. They weren't cold they were just being stopped. I know everyone wants to say blah blah they were cold, but sorry the hawks defense just shut them down.
