  1. Marvin Williams played great against the spurs. Hawks NEED to pass the ball to him more often, ESPECIALLY in the 2nd half. I also think that marvin needs to be more selfish at times

  2. There is a BIG difference between BEING clutch and having the ABILITY to make clutch shots. I said, he CAN MAKE clutch shots. Outside of Craw, who do we have on the team who can consistently do that?

    I'll wait...

He's not clutch period. No one on this team is clutch. Joe Johnson SOMETIMES, has the ability to make clutch shots, but overall? HE'S NOT CLUTCH ! I mean if it's a game winning situation i'd rather have bibby or craw shoot the ball.

  3. As much as I don't like the pounding of the basketball and making a somewhat difficult shot more difficult, he is still the guy who draws double teams and can make clutch shots. We are not a very good team without him. Besides, we won't have much more than the MLE and a tad bit of cap space if Joe doesn't come back. We won't be able to get a good scoring guard and a big man with that.

Yes, we won on the road without Joe against a garbage team without its second leading scorer (Harris) and Yi who gave us fits in the last game. That doesn't mean we can win like we do without him. But make no mistake, we either overpay to keep Joe and work to keep climbing up the Eastern Conference, or we let him go and try to sign some average guard while Crawford starts and faces double teams and lower FG% because he then becomes the focus of the defense with no one else who strikes fear in them.

Joe's our best player, but he is FAR FAR FAR from clutch.

  4. Bibby is done forums are wack.

Sure, bibby has been inconsistent this season, but he's not done yet. Starting Bibby this year has done nothing to harm us.

And for the "Start Teague now" people, you are ridiculous. I mean, would you really want a rookie PG to lead us in the playoffs, over a playoff experienced vet who can drain the clutch shot ?

Oh and just wanted to get your guys opinions, who do you think will get more minutes/ play more in the playoffs? Bibby or marvin?

  5. This is a list of young 21-27 year old "points" in the EC, the bar has been set leaguewide while Sund made a terrible chest move signing Bibby(31) three guaranteed years.

    Rondo-playoff

Harris-lotto, soon to be Wall(New Jersey will be a very dangerous team as early of next year)

    Lou Williams-lotto

    Jack-playoff

    Rose-playoff

    Mo Williams-playoff

    Brandon Jennings-playoff

    Stuckey-lotto

    Nelson-playoff

    Felton-playoff

    Current starters in Bibby's class:

    Earl Watson- top ten pick

    Arroyyo/Chalmers- just short of playoff

    Duhon- top ten pick

    Bibby- playoff

    Foye- l top ten pick

I'm not even taking in account the top WC pgs, influx of current rooks, and future mega rooks (WALL) also overseas prospects.

Teague is the only guy that can compete with these players night in and night out. I don't know if he a future 7-t0 year starter for ATL but I do believe he'll be a very good back up ala Kyle Lowry at the very least. This is the time Woodson needs to ramp up the learning curve and look past mistakes in general. Get him accustomed to the starting pgs that league is now producing. I feel confident in saying Teague is a more effective player than Bibby at this point in their careers.

To all those saying we can't do it because of playoff race, it's pick your poison between Orlando and Cleveland in the second round. Third or Fourth place pretty much has no significance.

I disagree. At this point, Teague isn't more effective than bibby in any category besides defense.

  6. I've got the lone vote for Bibby...

    I'll explain.

While defenses focus on Jamal and Joe, I think Bibby has to be that guy who hits the open shot.

I honestly don't think that Josh and Horf knows how to take over a game yet. I mean, i think they may want to but the defensive pressure is something special to them.

Joe can take over a game and can hit shots, but again, the defensive pressure is always on Joe.

Jamal does a good job of taking pressure off of Joe and Jamal has hit big shots. However, I don't know if he's always money coming down the stretch.

Bibby is a guy who can be money down the stretch. The sad thing is that Bibby is having a bad shooting year. If Bibby could turn things around by the playoffs, he will be that guy.

In last years playoffs, Bibby shot 46% from the field and 54% from three.

Look at the game against Cleveland in the playoffs.

They dominated us. They beat us by 20 something. They outrebounded us by 8. They killed us on the offensive glass. Shooting wise, we didn't shoot that much worst than them, because Bibby was "that guy". The main problem was that their star outplayed our star. Joe had a big target on his back. You can't be that guy when their whole team is guarding you.

Therefore, Bibby had to step it up and he did.

    I agree with you 100%

  7. give bibby more minutes fasho.

IMO, Bibby needs more minutes than crawford, i mean you all say bibby's defense is bad, but crawfords D ain't so great either. I'm not a major bibby fan myself, but i believe with him leading this offense, we have a better chance of closing out and winning games, because when crawford is usually in at point, it's selfish basketball.

I also think woody's rotation is messed up. We NEED to let joe johnson rest a lot more.

  8. Silly post...Crawford is the least of our problems.

Two PGs that have contributed little to nothing in the past three months.

Two SFs that have given almost nothing.

    ZZ/Joe Smith are a joke.

Then you have the nerve to blame Crawford, when his play has directly led to wins!

Go ahead and blame Crawford for not being Lebron, sad.

IMO, crawford HAS become a problem. the dude is chucking up unnecessary shots and is a selfish ball hog most of the time. i'd rather play marvin than crawFUL at this point.
