  1. biggrin.png ...I always reserve the right to be wrong...biggrin.png

...and it looks like I was . I just figured Ivan was a guy from nowhere, likely going nowhere. I put my faith in the knowledge that the our management usually can't judge talent. But as they say, even a blind squirrel finds a nut occasionally..

I really hope I was REALLY wrong and Ivan has a nice little career with the Hawks. It would be great for us and great for him.

haha Fair enough, I definitely respect that. I missed the game tonight, but from the stat line and highlights it looks like the Hawks played a great all around game!

  2. Agreed! A 27 year old guy who has never done much and now has a decent game against Charlotte's backups deserves to be plugged right into our system as a solid backup!

    (sarcasm)

Our bench is going to be a problem.

Negative 'Know it All' Nancy Strikes again! lol

  3. Sign him!

He did a lot of the intangibles in tonight's game. Played hard, got rebounds, scored buckets, went for loose balls, dove on the ground, etc. Would be a great back up to Horf or Smoove.

  4. Not sure if this is against the rules, but Cayla looks like an old crackwhore from the trailor park. The voting is rigged. Crystal, who looks like a long lost Kardashian sister, should be 1st place IMO!

Oh I see. You can simply refresh the page and vote for your favorite as many times as you want, and their rank goes up.

  5. Well said Wretch !

    Plus a million !

    :ok:

This^^^ What Wretch said is exactly the problem with Josh Smith's poor play. Why don't people understand this. Have the people who don't understand this actually ever played ball competitively before? No one who plays team basketball to win, wants to play with a guy like Josh Smith (when he is playing like a dumba$$). He kills the team spirit by throwing up dumb shots and turning the ball over every other play, taking other players out of their rhythm.

You hear about guys diving on the ground, and that being contagious to other teammates. Well it works both ways. When guys don't hustle, and they cry about half of the calls, it also kills the team chemistry and is a demotivating factor. Yes, they are all professionals, but it's hard to play with someone like that and when you are trying to win as a team. You aren't sure when you're going to get the ball in rhythm for a good shot because Josh is either chucking up a bad shot (not making the extra pass), or dribbling the ball of his foot on a fast break. Yes, these things kill team spirit and throw other players off their game.

  6. Not that it matters anymore, but I proposed a trade a few months ago saying we should trade Josh and Bibby for Gortat and Duhon and the Smith lovers thought I was out of my mind. Of course Gortat ends up going to the Suns and getting playing time and doing great in the playoffs, and well Josh Smith, is Josh Smith. Like you guys said, his trade value has gone down tremendously, and he just gets worse each year. Looks like he got fatter too. What a waste of talent.

  7. Don't know if anyone noticed, but Josh shot that really bad three in the first quarter in the corner and Al threw his hands up and was like WTF. That was a game changing possession right there, as Chicago came back and scored and built up momentum. LIke MoBetta said, the nuthuggers will be in here soon that don't understand basketball. So sick of Josh Sh!tz.

  8. Thanks to GameTime's videos of Kirk Hinrich I have now seen some footage of Kirk Hinrich! And, I do realize that these are HIGHLIGHT videoclips of Hinrich but they still show me the skills and talent Hinrich possesses and provides the Hawks. I admit that I knew very little of Kirk Hinrich before this trade but after reading a lot of articles and looking at the videoclips provided by GameTime I am very, very impressed. And, I know Hinrich is not Steve Nash but he does show me some of Nash's skills and attributes. While I would have been thrilled to see the Hawks trade for Nash I do think since that couldn't work out that obtaining Hinrich is a very good move/option for the Hawks! And, calling Hinrich a "Poor Man's Steve Nash" is no way an insult to Kirk Hinrich - In fact, I mean it as a huge compliment to Kirk Hinrich! I think the Hawks players and fans will be very, very happy with this trade!

They're both white and lick their fingers a lot while dribbling so I can see the resemblance. lol Just kidding. A lot of us who know Heinrich from his days with the Bulls were very pleased with this trade and felt that Heinrich would be the best fit for this team out of all the seemingly obtainable guards. Heinrich is a true PG, like Nash, and can control the tempo of the game and get everyone involved in their sets. His defense is actually much better than Nash so we can give him a +1 in that department. I can definitely see the resemblances although Nash is of course more skilled offensively. Then again he is a 2 time MVP. Hopefully Heinrich at 30 can continue a long career like that of Nash and continue to get even better like Nash did after he was traded to PHX.

The Hawks looked like the exciting team of the year they challenged Boston to a 7 game series. I was so pumped up watching last night's game. I don't expect all our games to be like that but you could definitely see a difference in energy in both our offense and defense, without having Bibby slow the game down. We actually had 18 seconds or more on the shot clock still after bringing the ball down the court!

  9. In plenty of interviews before, Bibby and Josh were proclaimed as the team clowns and pranksters. Even the live practice from last season showed them being very playful all throughout with their now infamous "bet it hit rim" games. The point where I found it annoying was during an ESPN game last year where they showed footage of Woody in the back going over some stats before a game and Bibby was getting his ankles taped, he balled up the excess tape and threw it over his shoulder at Woody. Woody had the WTF look on his face and then realized it was Bibby and went back to work. That pretty much showed me that that was common place and accepted in the locker room and then there were also the quotes of Bibby constantly telling guys how lucky they had it with Woody. All of this leads to the belief that the team are a very loose bunch and if LD was everyone's friend before I doubt he's done anything to tighten up the ship, the reigns probably got looser since his promotion.

Exactly, which is why I was we would have benefited from a 'no bs' coach like Avery Johnson, Tom Thibodeau, or Byron Scott. But it is what it is, so hopefully they begin to take there profession more serious, and come out every game with the effort they are always talking about that is missing. I'm sure Al Horford is pumped up by the trade and looking forward to having someone with the same mentality on the team.

  10. One thing I noticed a few times when attending a few Hawks games last year was Bibby would always be clowning around during warm-ups. He was continuously joking around even during lay up drills, nonchalant. This really annoyed me because I felt as the pg and floor general he should have been focused on the task/game plan ahead. I have great respect for Bibby from his Sacramento years and his first year as a Hawk, but after he lost his legs it was evident we needed a new pg. I hope the best for him, but I am glad to see a hard-nosed player come in as our floor leader and can't wait for tonight's game!

  11. He has regressed because his playing time has regressed. In Chicago, they of course drafted Derrick Rose, which led to Hinrich being benched as the 2nd PG. Before this, he averaged over 15 points a game and 7 assists per game. Hinrich is a solid defender, he hustles, he can penetrate and create offense, and has a high IQ for the game, something we LACK and desperately need at the PG position.

That being said, Hinrich has the chance to come here and start, and run this offense. I guarantee he will be an upgrade over Mike Bibby, all around. Saying you wouldn't give JC2 straight up for Hinrich is ridiculous, the kid never saw the light of day on our squad. Let him grow somewhere else.

+1 Huge upgrade at the PG spot. Probably the best fit for our team/need out of what the PG's we might have been able to get, next to Felton. Lakers even wanted Hinrich because he is a solid player.
