  1. This guy could be in the Hawks uniform nex year.

I am big Red Star Belgrade fan, and in a two games I went this season against Cibona (Sarić current club) Hawks scouts was there. Judging by that, and Danny Ferry’s history of drafting Euro prospects I am sure if Sarić slips to 15-th postion, he will draft him. If that happens, it can be steal of the century.

I’am no scout, but just watching him against ten years older players you can see how special he is. This guy is right now better than Pau Gasol was in his age, and I thing Sarić is best young player in Europe since Dirk Nowitzki, this is not exaggeration. Till last year he was considered best talent in Europe, but last couple of months his is amazing. Last week hi won ABA league practically alone, and his progress is evident with every single game.

This video is from his games last week: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rCk4vUx0_J0

  2. Hi everybody! It was long time since I was here and with great win tonight I was thinking how to improve team for the next season. I read that some of you guys suggesting Lance Stephenson. Ok, this team need young athletic player on SG or SF, but now when we have solid core with chemistry, how smart is to bring player with issues? Is it smarter to draft guy like James Young, and let him develops, and trade Al and Lou for some young center like Monroe, Favors of Drummond?

  3. I would say that he doesn't want him with our first pick. Maybe he is thinking in moving up his second round if he likes him

Bogdan had another huge game tonight: 32 points, 5 ast, 5 reb. He is getting better with every game, and if he continues to play like this he is going to be lottery pick.

  4. Well, I don't. What does that mean?

p.s. Serious question, not being sarcastic.

lethalweapon3 did a great research, but let mi try to explain this way: In Europe you have teams whose fans are mono-ethnic or mono-religious ; like Celtics fans are only catolics, Rangers only protestants, Red Star fans - Delije are only Serbs, or Dinamo fans only Croats...

  5. Like the guy before said. Pero Antić is macedonian. He most likely has some serbian roots because of his last name Antić.

He was born in Skopje, lived his whole youth in Skopje, started his basketball career in Skopje. His whole family lives in Skopje as does he. He's been playing for Macedonia for years before he played for Red Star. He's played for youth teams there and so on.

Just because he is a fan of Red Star, played there and has a tattoo of their supporters that doesn't make him serbian.

    Hi Daminko,

I agree with you, Pero is born and raised in Skopje and plays for Macedonia, but he is ethnic Serb; like Kobe is raised in Italy, but we all known that he is American.

It is not so important, cos' before the First world war Macedonia was south Serbia, so basically, all Macedonians are ethnic Serbs, just Pero's family never changed there las name, so that's why is so obvious.

    Pozdrav iz Banjaluke.

  6. He isn't a Serbian player, he is born in Macedonia, he starts his career in Macedonia, he talks Macedonian, he also have a tatoo with Macedonian flag, etc, etc... Btw, national teams can only have one player from foreign country, and that player for Macedonia is the American Lester Bo McCalebb.

Btw, Antić is a good player, nice shot from distance, good free throws shooter, sound in defense, good dunker. Nice signing for Atlanta.

Ok. He tattooed Macedonian flag out of respect for Macedonian national team, but he is 100% Serbian.

  7. Would some of this have to do with personal feelings? He did leave your favorite team for greener pastures.

    This from Wikepedia:

"He was voted the MVP of the 2007-08 season in the Bulgarian National Basketball League, a season in which he averaged 23.3 points and 9.3 rebounds per game."

Bulgarian National League is a joke. You and me can play there without any preparation.

  8. Pero Antić is a Serbian player, with FYROM citizenship.

He's C/F, with lot's of experience... He can play in the post and also hit mid-range J... I've been following his career for quite some time now, and there's one thing that stands out about him, he always works hard and improves his game year in and year out. When he first came up, he was a promising big, but he was never able to get into Serbian national team, so he opted to play for FYROM... However, he's one of those late bloomers, as he was able to elevate his game and establish himself as a solid big man with very important role on 2-time Euroleague champs Olympiakos...

I think this is a nice pick-up to add to our front-court depth and another flexible stop-gap contract.

Oh, come on, he was never considered for Serbian team, Red Star never intended to resing him, and he was lucky that coach Ivković was in Olympiakos. I don't agree that he is "late bloomer" more like "one and done" season player. I have no idea how he can play in the NBA because has no skills, mid range jumper is solid- but nothing spectacular, basically old, slow, and even for European conditions average player...is obvious that Ferry pick him up on the basis of recommendations from Miško Ražnjatović (his agent) and it only proves that Ferry has no idea what to do with the team.

  9. Hahhaha. this is joke right. Ferry must be out of his mind, cos this guy is 31 and could not find a club after Olympiacos.

I watched him couple of times when he played for my favorite team Red Star Belgrade - he is slow, unathletic, wery low basketball IQ, basically, he had two god seasons in Olympiacos, but only when they sold best players and in a system of Dusan Ivkovic - best Euro coach he had a lot playing time.

One of my friends knows Pero personaly, and, this is of the record, but he is not the best person to be around - he stole the girl from one of the teammates, he lends money from teammates, and stuff like that.

  10. I don't understand hype about this guy? I watched him a couple of times, and he really on first sight looks like Rondo, has that Rondo moves, has long arms, but you must understand: German league in Europe is a joke – like third grade Junior college - if such thing exists in the States. And he played for Braunschweig which is one of the worst teams there - got almost relegated last year. Hi really did not had a chance to play against real competition.I hope I'm wrong, we'll see.

  11. Is there ANY chance that Center Boban Marjanovic makes the Hawks roster next season? They list this player at 7'3" and 271 lbs! IF, the Hawks could give him some quality coaching and he improves his strength could he provide the Hawks with any valuable minutes (and, possibly give Horford a few minutes at the Forward position each game?) at the Center position? I watched a few minutes of some of his highlights and I didn't think he looked that bad but I am GUESSING that his competition was probably not that good.

No, he has a contract with Red Star, and he'll play Euroleage next two seasons.

He has a syndrome like Abraham Lincoln, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marfan_syndrome basically, tall with long hands but very limited mobility, so, I don't believe he would be very efficient in the NBA.
