  1. Since the Hawks had an early exit in the Playoffs this year. I think Hawk management needs to start thinking about the future of this franchise. First off, I love the work of Al in the playoffs even though his time was limited due to his injury. His contract is cheap and I think we need to revolve the franchise around Horford more than we do to Joe and Josh. Now I know all you Joe haters are gonna think i am crazy but we NEED Joe! He has been there at times where we need him the most and he also has that vintage step back that makes the opposing team aw.Teague should stay for his defensive purposes him averaging about 1.6 steals and .6 blocks for only a speedy 6'2 point guard. His floaters on the other hand need work and his willingness to take more shots when he gets the chance to take them.Josh Smith I believe needs to be traded for some picks in the upcoming draft, I have been scouting the Pacers and Heat series and that series proves that rebounding can and will win you the game. If we can trade Josh up to a spot like 4th so we can draft Thomas Robinson out of Kansas. Robinson has been a great player in Kansas averaging a double-double and also having great length. Its time to take Josh out of this franchise and start with the future.Willie Green and Pargo have really shown something towards me this season. Both being their first season with the Hawks and both doing a fantastic job. I say keep these two and sign them with extensions! They earned it!Kirk Hinrich and Marvin Williams on the other hand leave me scratching my head, one game they will be good but the next game they wont even be able to make a simple jumpshot. I say at least one of these men should be traded along with Josh so we can make a move up in the draft so we can get Thomas Robinson.Ivan, Zaza, and T-Mac should all be returning next year. Each one of these men helped us out throughout the season to help us win some extra games. They deserve to stay but I keep my eye on them if I was the Hawks management next season.Jason Collins and Stackhouse are up next to the batters box. I say keep Jason for his defense because we all know he can't score like Al can but I think Stackhouse needs to be released. No disrespect or anything but I think we can pick somebody off free agency who would more benefit the team. That finally leaves me with Erick Dampier, Now I went to the Hawks game 5 against the Celtics this playoffs. I saw that Erick was making plays and rotating when needed to. He seemed like the spark off the bench that night when our roster was limited. Either way I like Dampier to stay next year and to give him some more minutes. So in conclusion, I like the Hawks right now as a sleeper team. I am actually happy that we arn't a big market team like the Chicago's or the Los Angles's but that gives us a competive edge knowing that we are the underdog and that ESPN will soon be talking about the Hawks as a force to be reckond with in the Eastern Confrence. This post has been promoted to an article
  2. Tonights game against the Boston Celtics was a big game coming into the home stretch of the end of the season. We played a pretty decent first, a tremendous second, a pretty bad third, and an ok fourth. Going into OT, I thought the Hawks were going to get out in transition and pull out the victory.... but alas, the Hawks once again play horribly down the stretch to cost us another game that should have been ours. How was Boston able to get 50+ rebounds against tonight when they have one of the worst rebounding teams in the league! Our defense is not the problem... Our offense is the problem. Time after time I watched as Marvin Williams and Willie Green and Joe Johnson all miss wide open three pointers that could've put us to a cruising victory. So in the upcoming draft, what position do you guys think we should try to go for? And coming back to another topic I just read, why do you guys think that Josh Smith was so disrespectful to Jeff Teague?
  3. I watched that part of the game going into the time-out. Josh was getting in Teague's face about something, (probably for making some dangerous passes). Needless to say, our team chemistry on the Hawks is never recognized in the media. The hawks are the most under-rated team in the league that is actually pretty decent. I can understand if we were bad like the Bobcats but we have the 5th spot in a tough Eastern Confrence and ESPN overlooks us just like they do every single year.
  4. I've noticed that in the past couple games that we are getting scared to shoot the ball and this has resorted in poor shot selection and low field goal percentage! We need to trade Jeff Teague first off. I liked what he brought at the beginning of the season but now he will pass of the open three and his three point percentage is .412 this season! That's not even bad!!! We also need to trade Josh Smith. He obviously does not want to play for this team anymore. It seems like he is not even trying. I went to see the Hawks game when they played the Bucks last friday. Brandon Jennings stole the ball at Half court and Josh Smith was breathing low under the paint and didn't even make an attempt to contest the easy layup. This team desperately needs a trade. At this point there is no way we can get back into the Elites of the Eastern Conference by playing poor basketball.
  5. Agree, We should be 8-1 now but unfortunately we couldn't knock down our free throws. I think the Hawks at the end of the year could be a very good 3 or 2 seed. When Kirk gets back we will be a very good offensive team but for the time being i think Teague is doing a pretty decent job. If there was a team to beat us in the east it would probably be a healthy Miami team. We might've beaten them earlier in Miami but when you never know if Lebron or Wade are gonna put up 30 points each or 8 points. Anyways, I think we could beat the bulls in a series and beat teams like the Magic and the Pacers to. I'm very pleased to see how our team has played in the past two games and hope we can keep the momentum up. GO HAWKS!
  6. O.K, I will admit, i wasn't totally focused on this game tonight, I WAS focused on the Lions v.s Saints game. I did switch back time to time to check in and in what i saw, I thought the Hawks played a very decent game. Josh Smith looked really good tonight coming off the overtime win over the Bobcats last night, ( Which he also led the team in points in that game to). I noticed that everyone was playing well and that when we get on a roll, shoot, WE ARE ON A ROLL!!! I didn't see what happnend but Marvin Williams wasn't playing. I probably missed it watching the football game but he did get injured on his ankle. So I guess my question is, if Marvin is gonna be out for some time on this ankle injury, who do you think should be the starter for him. My top two guys right now are Tracy McGrady or Willie Green, ( Yes, Willie Green, i know)
  7. Watching the game tonight made me notice something, We do have talent to win and all of these past games we should've won by at least 15+ points just if we hit our free throws. But like Charles said yesterday, we need a spark, an actual SUPERSTAR instead of a bunch of good players. Somebody on this squad can be that superstar. The question is, who could be that star to spark this team to be an NBA elite team?
  8. As a Hawks fan, I have grown up in my life watching and supporting these Hawks, some times I jump out of my seat and cheer and joy, the other times i jump out of my chair and wanna throw it out the window. My question for you the readers is this, What should the Hawks franchise do know after this devastating loss? Should the Atlanta Core be broken up and traded away for the superstars like Dwight Howard just like Charles said on TNT last night broadcasting the game? And who should be the DESERVING starting lineup because in my opinion Joe Johnson and Josh Smith should NOT be starting for there play this season.
