Cavaliers Sign Free Agent Ira Newble Associated Press CLEVELAND - Forward Ira Newble signed with the Cleveland Cavaliers on Tuesday, providing much-needed depth to the team's frontcourt. Newble, who spent the past two seasons with the Atlanta Hawks, became the Cavaliers' second free-agent signing. Point guard Kevin Ollie signed last week and will help work with top draft pick LeBron James. The players split the team's $4.9 million salary cap exception for veterans, team spokesman Tad Carper said. "Signing Ira Newble takes our plan another step forward," Cavs general manager Jim Paxson said. "He's a big, strong veteran player that will play an important role for us this season." Newble will likely back up Darius Miles at small forward. He started 80 of his 115 games the past two seasons with Atlanta and averaged 7.7 points and 3.7 rebounds with a .495 field-goal percentage in 2002-03.

I doubt they'll trade Carter. When he's not hurt he's one of the best Toronto's got. I hope they trade Bosh. We can do so much better.

You guys can have Bosh! I don't know why we picked him. The boy needs to gain some weight, plus, we don't even know what position he would play on Toronto yet. I know Toronto was debating between T.J Ford and Chris Bosh. We should've picked Ford! And I don't know why Vince would like Bosh. Bosh seems like he needs some work before putting him out in the starting line.

I highly doubt Toronto will trade JYD.

I don't care if Ira goes to Chicago or not. I'll still support the Hawks.

Whoa, what's with all the hate all of a sudden? So what if I'm a fan of Ira, I'm no stalker. lol I'm a Hawks fan too, I've always known they were a good team and Ira is only part of the reason why I like the team. Even if he does leave, I will still like watching Atlanta games and watching the team grow. I'm from Toronto, CANADA and I've realized the talent the Hawks have. It's not like I'm from Atlanta and I feel like I should like the Hawks because they're my hometeam. I've realized the talent the team has without even being in the same country as you guys. I've been on this board for almost two weeks now and haven't even posted that often. Now y'all are hating on me? Maybe I'll just forget about this [censored] board. I've been nothing but nice to everyone on here and if I can't receive respect back then to [censored] with you. Thank you to everyone who has been nice to me. But I think I'm gonna sign off. What team to you think Ira will most likely go to?

I was thinking Ira may try to go to Detroit but I would LOVE if he came to Toronto. I think Alvin Williams may be a good trade for Ira too. It's a tossup between Alvin Williams and Rafer Alston.
