ESPN report lists Nuggets, Raptors as two teams with interest in Millsap. Hard to see Hawks trading key asset in-conference.
Toronto has no interest for me.
Sureeeeeeee!!!!!! We'll be "competitive" while we'll also be "exciting". We won't strive to make the playoffs, so if we miss them, "no big deal". We won't be like "Philly", our roster will be totally different.
Yeah, I'm not worried about this, we're tanking folks. No one wants to be the #10-14 lottery team, they are just trying to pretty up the horrible roster we are about to receive for this season.
After the season, when we have one of the worst records in the league, all they have to say, 'we under performed! Oh well, we are about to pick in the top 5!'.
Yes! I like this guy already.
Find a star through the draft. Enough of the 'happy to be here' playoff crap.
Expiring Sap for Clarkson and Randle? Damn.
This is what happens when you avoid a rebuild while watching as your top assets leave in free agency season upon season after you hit a ceiling.
I don't think it wins a championship at all, but it's a better shot than we have had. I'd do it.
Heard it too. I saw Dennis didn't like that Dwight took the board from him and walked the ball up himself, ignoring the point guard.
Wonder how this impacts our trade discussions.
If there was a way to get Love and keep Dennis, I'd feel good going against a Melo/Lebron/whoever frontcourt against Dwight and Love destroying them on the boards.
Love and Dwight is nasty though......
But Dennis......
So much mixed emotions.
Ugh, Love would be cool, but they can keep Rose as I want to keep Dennis.
Wonder if LA would be dumb enough to trade us Randle just to improve their team now?
Just now, RedDawg#8 said:If I'm forced to watch Baze in a Hawks uni while watching guys like THJ and Sap leave via trade I'm probably going have to shoot myself.
We probably don't want to admit re-signing him was a bad idea, so to justify his contract by trading THJ would suck.
If we can get any of these players in a Sap deal, I'll be happy:
Gary Harris
Jusuf Nurkic
Nerlens Noel
Khris Middleton
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Those reports should be Bazemore, but of course we have to act like that contract was justified.
We are rebuilding. No one really expects to tank (besides the Sixers), but I do expect to take a step back for a season or 2 while youth grows. If that means getting top 10 draft picks in the process, so be it.
Just don't expect to beat the Cavs with the current or post Sap roster this season. What's crazier than the tank opinions is the ones that believe the current roster has a chance at a championship.
Supposedly Raps, Kings, Pelicans (was originally reported as 76ers), and Nuggets are interested in Sap.
Out of those, Nuggets are the only team that has pieces I want. Kings would want Sap to pair with Cousins.
Let's do this!
Shouldn't have re-signed Bazemore though.
Would love it if we got Brown and Brooklyn's 1st for Sap. A fast rebuild.
I hope we can find offers for Korver and Thabo if we do trade Sap. No need to keep those guys around for a rebuild.
The question would be then, what will the Hawks do with Howard?
23 minutes ago, Sothron said:I'm not high on Mudiay at all.
But if I seem to remember correctly, he was someone Bud wanted to move up to get in that draft? At least he's still a developing talent.
Are we going full rebuild? Are we going to finally look to draft a franchise guy?
Our fan base isn't strong enough for us to tank!!

Which is the point. It's not strong, so who cares? Tank for a star, they will come.
