  1. Honestly i think we are just deep, because we starting with low qualitiy that the from the backups to the starters isn't big. I would rate the bench from must of the mentioned teams better then the hawks bench, even when some players ain't as close to the rotation as on the hawks roster.

  2. The commentory asked Dennis abtut the flight, which should be tough with a back injury. Dennis was replying that it was ok and his back is fine. Bus didnt planned to play him, and his tight back get the reason instead a cd ( and i would guess that this is more protectioning dennis from german media then team intrest since dennis wasnt the only one who gets rested)

In case you hadn't noticed, the league apparently takes a dim view of publicly admitting that tanking is going on (see Mark Cuban's $660k fine for recent example).  Schröder saying nothing was wrong with him is telling the world that we are tanking.  If management didn't want to acknowledge such things, because of potential league problems, it might land Dennis on another team.  Comprendo?

First of all he didn't said they are tanking.

Second mistake you are making, he didn' say his back injury wasn't there (he just said it wasnt severe), he said he could have played ... some Coaches even like when Player like to Play even when it isnt a smart decision, und when you look on the po there is huge difference betwenn "he is playing with this sickness/injury" in comparision to the rs.

The league aint punishing teams for not playing there key players, even when u are telling it twice it dont get true. It is even quite common on successful Teams, so no Trouble for the team only if they like surprise  the Next Opponent.

So i dont comprendo what you are telling because i Miss all the facts you are argumenting with.

For me it is no Surprise, hat this isnt a News vor the Media... the Interview indeed was full of it, he gets a owner he is most likely playing for the nationalteam etc.

  4. I alsi have trouble to see it as a topic, dnp-cd arent rare they are quite common. I believe even in this game others had it.

He said he Amharic a slight pain, so they decide to use it as a reason but you don't need to worry about him.

Esexially since there are plenty of other interesting things in the interview.

It is also not bad to be ambitious, and he isn't saying that he want to get to the medals in the next tournament but in the next years ( and he doesn't wanted to give a prediction for the next one)

  5. I dont think that gets a topic, he said also that is back was a little bit tight. Maybe to honest, maybe also a unlucky word about the worrys of the interviewer about his back ... But overall he announced that he gets part of the ownership of his old local basketball team, which is basically the news from this interview.

Edit: He is quite ambtious with his new old team, but i doubt he would be involved much . Since before there where rumors that he is preparing a deal it with a sports agentur.

Additionally he said he is going to play for the nationalteam in summer, which probadly gets the new when the first topic gets to boring.

Never understood this argument. Who can tell how a team should perform? Who are we to say this group isn't as talented as other groups? Why are the Hawks always overachieving in your minds? Maybe they play right where they belong talent wise.

Funny to read this from a dude who started a discussion like this:

    vor 19 Stunden, StephenHawking sagte:

It has to be addressed every once in a while that Bud is hella overrated as a coach imo. Sure I'm not aware of how other coaches perform but he seems to struggle at just about everything.

    - Never adjusts to in-game-situations

    (Gets outcoached every third qtr)

-Unable to draw up good final shot plays

    -Completely overrated at developing talent

(Hes pretty good in making bad players into average players but he seems unable to put players over the top)

    -Has strange relationships to players.

(Playing Delaney all the time even though he sucked way too often in example)

Just to make it clear. I'm okay with keeping Bud as a coach for now as we are trying to be bad anyway. Its the next season and season after what's bothering me. To get the best out of top talent you need to hand them the keys sometimes. The way he treats Collins hell be unable to develop his game. He can develop to an above average big as Hoeford and Sap were at best but nothing more.

If we get even better talent this year in the draft I dont want them to sour on the bench when we play mediocre talent instead. Big players make big plays in big moments. Therefor the rookies have to play.

If Germany only had one reliable 3 point shooter to space the floor for Dennis this team could have had much more success. For Dennis' game it's really important to have some guys who really deserve the kick out pass and also draw some defensive attention. Other highlights in this topic show that there will be at least one guy who can hit the three... I think Kyle Kovers impact on that 60 win team is still underarted

Korvers impact on the 60 win season was huuuuge, there where method who rates defensiv attention where he was top ranked in the league slithly behind Lebron. When he moved (and he was always moving in this year) he put the defens eon his feet. Also he was in all good line up, and maybe someone can check his +/- ratings from the team over the season.

I agree with both breakdowns as far as Dennis.  The SI list flows a lot better in terms of eye test but ESPN skews toward defensive metrics (Roberson) of which I'm usually an advocate.  I can deal with Mirotic and Oladipo being overrated, cannot with Gasol and D'Angelo Russell.

96 is quite low considering that there are 150 Starters in the nba, and probadly in average 1 bench dude with roughly the same minutes and resposibility for each team we are at 180 players. And most likely the best Hawk is below average?

  9. Just an update on those two players, theis got an contract at Boston and Kleber in Dallas. Asi said i liked to see Theis here, let's see how they perform in the NBA and if they get serious playing time or end just as end of the bench guys.

Another player from this game, who got an NBA contract this year was Darius Miller (New Orleans).

  10. One Problem with Dwight is also that the defenses realised that they could use his poor foul shooting, after that his dominance declined ... Even if he get the Ball in the Post he rushes his offense, since he know that the defender is better off sending him to the line, then try to defend and fight for position first. i would also say that Dwight was able to finish through contact in the past, while +1 (even with missed FT) get quite rare these days. Also he don't get the ball out again, ok we don't have the shooters like ORL but even in Houston this was a Problem (where he also had the most touches in Post of the NBA without using it).

I liked the Parker comparision more then the Rondo one, yes Parker/Wall still find better options on offense but defense Strenght always was the pick and roll + spot up shooter (which we miss this season). In his "youth" he was also somehow who throw up many lob passes (with good success rate) , after the pick something i hope dwight could do too but he doesn't was an option there.

He need works to get to elite status, but i dont think that Dwight should blame anybody then himself,

No more Whoreford sitting on the three point line with his hands out.   No more Whoreford getting rebounding numbers that look like a binary code.  Welcome Home D8!!

You can see the difference Dwight is making. 18/11 and 4 blocks? Yes please! He is the main reason we got so many free throws. We put teams in constant foul trouble with him on the court. It is a night and day difference from soft as Charmin Whoreford out there.

the second quote should be from sothron, but i find it a bit respectless yes they are different kind of players, but if Al would hit 40% Freethrows he also would get 20 shots since must fouls on dwight wasn't because he was so tough they was more like let him gives freethrows before he shots (or foul him hard if he shots the ball).

And yes they was both very different types of player, but Al was an important part of the success the last years and helped us with his way of playing the game.

Love Dennis' attitude and his effort on the defensive end is a dying art.  I just think his size and jumpshot are fatal flaws.  I fear his jumper is broken beyond repair.

I'm a big proponent of having an average-sized PG, around 6"3'', 200.  I'm more intrigued by watching how Jack fits in than Dennis assuming more responsibility.

There are just too many things that guys like Barrera, Chris Paul, Collision, Jennings, Brooks, and Beverly can't accomplish on the floor, as evidenced by CP3's ungodly career PER with no Conference Final appearances to show for it.

Granted Dennis' wingspan  is likely much longer than any of them, demonstrably quicker than either, and rebounds harder than all of em.  Still, it's just way too easy to defend him at the rim or post him up.  When the playoffs slow down, get twice as physical, and closer to the basket, his returns diminish quickly.  With that said I still think he could outplay Irving in a series as a starter but his highest value to a contender is off the bench.

I would hope like hell Paul steps up and "runs" the team anyway so to answer the question, no.  The closer he draws to shooting 47 or 48%, the more optimism I'll have.

At least you mentioned the length of his arms, right now i would say the people look more then the "real" height for the wingspan. Long arms mean you dribble lower, usually smaller people can change direktion easier etc.

As the stats show he is hard to defend at the rim, cause of his athletics and i would say speed and handly are more important for a guard to score inside ... Besides livingston i don't see any Point Guard who post up more regulary, which is indeed a weakness in Dennis game. (defensiv after rotation offensiv it is unimportant)

And sorry Paul is one of he best, the west is damn strong and he hadn't that strong team around him for a long time that he had to reach it. And when it is an weakness it is more a mental one, then a physical one.

Our scheme will certainly be adjusted but as far as D8 not being able to shoot from the distance Al can I don't think it will be a negative effect on our spacing. Believe our spacing will improve because Dwight scores in the paint and grabs more rebounds than anyone else in the games he plays in. When the defense closes towards him someone will be wide open. Kyle will be very happy for example because we don't want him working extra hard to release some open threes and Dwight's presence should really help with that. Dwight will give us more opportunities to score as well.

I am not sure if we are better off or not, but i would say it is different and that we need some time to adjust to get and use the open spaces now. This won't be the full season, but i would be surprised if everything is working from day one like we just change 1 player for me it is an change in the offensiv approach.

About Kyle i hope he is still running, he was the key 2 years ago, as a player who creates without even touching the ball - there was stats out there that he had as much off the ball attention then James and he was always on the moves which makes the defense move against there number one thread. Last year wasn't that strong for him, but him running through the d still makes the d worry because he can shoot even when he had to work for it and is not a stretcher who stands in the corner waiting for a pass.

    You all are worry warts.

Think back to Bud's first season, with DMC and Millsap as new players etc with an entirely new coaching staff and offense.

We have 4 returning players in the starting lineup. 11 returning players in total.

We are not changing the entire offensive system, just tweeks.

    It's not rocket surgery - it's basketball.

I believe the change Howard / Horford is a big one, and the team need a while to adjust. Horford and Howard are both good Centers, but there playing style is very different ... And big part of the Hawks offense was, that everybody can step out and shoot with Howard we get a C who can not shoot and this will affect our spacing and schemes.

  15. First of all he had contact with them, before the suspect of man slaughter comes in. They was going to the police afterwards and got released a short period later, since there was a low risk that there are fleeing or maybe are even related to this crime. Since there was no evidence then a rap dis. I am pretty sure Xatar, will use this as an image campaign, and won't see any charge.

And your prosecutor (or did you look for janitor?), should know that kautions in germany are different in germany then the US. It woud work better if denis bought him a wife, 2 Kids and  house instead of showing of that he comes to money because you got jailed before the verdict, if there is a high prohability that you are manipulating evidence or can easily flee into another juristikation (since you have money which you can move around,  and aren't heavily involved into the  society here like kids in school).

And my friend sauron says you should take care, even with 90% relations, you are doing more crimes in germany then dennis, and i don't even know you. (and your friend would loose his job, but if he is really a prosecutor he should loose it because of his knowledge of the law)

Edit: maybe you mean also he helps him to rent an apartment and pays his kaution there? Evil ... But this even leads me more to the janitor.

You should be cautious in calling others retarted too.

Why would anyone be drinking hanging out at clubs or casinos surrounded by drunk people?  I am sure these guys have some tea and biscuits.

I know Many responsible drivers who rrink water and Coke in the club - why shouldnt this be the possibillity for athletes? ( especially the water)

Especially in rhe thabo case i would be sure that thiswould be mentioned in the Police report. And I am quite sure ut would be the bigger story than that they go out and would be mentioned by the press.

  17. I would say any Player who is good enough to get a place on the bench is worth 4mio.

This is very low especially with the new cap.

And I like Scott, and u think this Option is a no brainer..  only when he wants to sign a longer contract you can think about not using the option - but he would earn nearly the Double amount of money.

  18. You should think about it a different way, when is the time of the Day when you are most productive? And now think about the time the ecf games are played? Would you still go to sleep AT 10 in the evening?

As long they aren't drunk, is it ok if they use there spare time to relax..  and there arent many places who are open at those times.

  19. There ia a Feldschlößchen brewery in braunschweig, so that isn't a braunschweig/Hannover thing. I didn't realised that you mean the Dresdner Feldschlößchen ( which isnt Mine too , but better then the one of bs and simply a different taste then wolters)

  20. In the First quarter in the possesion who ended with a teague Foul close to a shot clock violation. Thomas runs into an off Ball screen under the basket,  and for me punched into the Direktion of the screener. maybe someone knows thw Situation.

  21. I am with diesel, i believe the succes would alter the perception of the players. So if we win now, and look back in 10 we wouldn't think of a star less team but would say they had Sap ...

On the other hand i see some trends, who kill the importance of the stars a bit:

    1. In the past you had to defend man to man, which values player more which you barely stop in one on one.

    2. The 3 point shot get more importance, and getting a bunch of player out who can score after an catch and shot is a good way to get a high percentage. Sure curry and thompson are the first stars, who kill defence through "unlimited" range, and get those 3 in one and one situation but still most of the 3 are the result of other players creating.

    3. Superstars had mostly a very good price performance ration, since many players deserve a max contract but the few superstars was significant better then other max players. Today it is trending that most succesful teams, had very good player and often stars asking for fewer money to cheat the cap system. Having an superstar really helps to get those player,  but building a team with a good price perfrormance ration might work with allstars too, if they understand well with each other and are believing into the staff/project. So if we stay succesfull around 50 wins each season, you could build also those trust for fa and the current allstars to make such a step.
