  1. Hey Supes, thanks for taking the time to break all of that down for us. Great job. Now I don't feel quite as clueless when I look at the roster - LOL.
  2. Couldn't help but notice that Edy & Moose are the only Centers on the roster. Also, the only forwards with any height (defined by 6'10' and above) are Greg Smith, Jon Horford (presumably a favor to his brother, Al) and the aforementioned Moose. Although, looking at the weight of the players, I suppose the 6'9" Brandon Ashley at 230 pounds could probably play the power forward position as well. Conversely, the roster is pretty much dominated by small forwards & wings and guards. Almost all of whom are 6'5" or taller with the exceptions of Tomas Bellas at 6'1", Seven Holt at 6'4" and Elijay Millsap at 6'4" (presumably a favor to his brother Paul). Attempting to read the tea leafs here, this seems to confirm speculation that the FO is pretty much set at the Center, Power Forward and Point Guard positions (barring any trades). Therefore, this year's Summer League team seems to be about searching for any diamonds in the rough at the Shooting Guard and Small Forward positions. While I admittedly don't know much about the players on the roster, I can vouch for the approach and the strategy behind the players selected to participate. Seems like a solid approach to ensure you have the most complete and talented squad on the floor once all the dust settles.
  3. Doc Wilkins, most def, Bob is a true pro and clearly passionate about his job and I love him for that. Couldn't agree with your post more.
  4. Thanks my Hawks Bros for all the love & positive vibes. I definitely had a blast putting it together. I'll keep grinding to make better future projects, with the understanding that it's much too soon to quite my day job - LOL. One Love.
  5. Yes, and I'm afraid the little girl dancing in the video has all the talent in my family - LOL. You're too kind sir. Thanks Gray Mule, very much appreciated.
  6. Hi Bird Dirt, Thanks for your comment. You are correct sir. Excellent observation. I needed you around when I was actually putting this thing together - LOL. This was actually my first effort at making a video (as if you couldn't tell - LOL) and I didn't notice the error until after I was waaay too far into it to go back. Then I thought, what the heck, I'm telling the story from a fan's perspective anyway... so, since I am giving the music away for free, decided not to go back and re-shoot the footage. Might have a professional re-shoot it at a later date. First, however, gotta finish a couple other songs I'm working on for an upcoming EP, so that takes priority right now. Nevertheless, wanted to share the song & the video with my Hawks peeps. Hope it wasn't too hard on the eyes. Again, thanks for the honest criticism, very much appreciated. Peace & Blessings.
  7. No worries Supes & thanks for the good vibes, much appreciated, being a nubie and all Been following you guys for awhile now, since I'm a long suffering Hawks fan. There are a lot of good posters on this board including yourself. Been keeping pretty busy so always figured I didn't have enough time to post... but after the kind of year my boys put up this year, couldn't stay away any longer. I find that often (although not always) in debates, both sides typically have something of value to say. It just seems that some folks calibrate their scales a little differently than other folks, so they will give more weight to one element of an argument while the other side might give more weight to another element of the argument. I try to see both sides, although not always successful - LOL. Peace & Blessings and it's good to finally be a apart of the team. Brother - KennysATL
  8. Fair point Supes. Part of the winning formula we patented was bringing Thabo in after we had the lead to apply fresh legs & unyielding defensive pressure. Any points he made were icing on the cake so to speak. So I will say you make a fair point. Perhaps the more offensive minded Wesley will help in this regard (assuming we are able to land him). In my view, anything that will help us get back to our winning formula should be the off-season mission of the FO. So to not at least investigate the Wesley signing would be tantamount to dereliction of duty, which is not Coach Bud's MO.
  9. The voice of the ATL Hawks, Bob Rathburn, retweeted & liked this video and said that the video gave him chills. He's definitely a class act, he didn't have to do that. Nevertheless, it was greatly appreciated: https://twitter.com/KastheGreatRap/status/615031568868835328 or @BobRathbunTV Thanks for bringing passion & support for our beloved Hawks. This is my way of saying thanks. Enjoy! https://t.co/nOAOBcaz5N— Kas the Great (@KastheGreatRap) June 28, 2015 Hawks Fan For Life, KennysATL
  10. I like this move. In the long run, think it will payoff even better than the fit & development of DMC in our system. This season however not sure this move gets us to the promise land, though it surely doesn't hurt. What we need most of all this season is a healthy Thabo. To these eyes, once he became acclimated to our system & got his rhythm back, the fit between Thabo and the Hawks proved to be deadly. Especially during that undefeated month. You could see the formula play out game in & game out: Hawks jump out to big lead early in game, enter one Thabo to apply the defensive clamp and the opponent never recovered. Once Thabo went out, we didn't have that defensive stopper to come in and close-out teams. Then we saw the script change to Hawks jump out to big lead, opponent gets back into game, then either the Hawks re-group & pull out the win or they don't. Kind of like the Braves without their vaunted closer or the Falcons without a stout defense. So basically, at the end of last year we were having to win games with 4th quarter heroics & offense down the stretch & in the play-offs, which was not the original script that we patented when Thabo was healthy. I would like to get back to that script. Also, I would add that we won those games seemingly with a lot less effort regardless of opponent. Bottom line is this dude Wesley will definitely help solve the problem, so we should bring him in & in a year or two he should be a baller, but to get to the promised land this year, we need Thabo in the worst way. Peace to you all. KennysATL
  11. Fanboy, Forgot to mention, thanks for the like, very much appreciated. You're right, the style of that track definitely gives off a little old school vibe. Being from the ATL and now living in Seattle, gives me a little bit of a unique twist on things. Should have some more music coming out soon and I think you'll hear the different influences. By the way, Bob Rathburn just liked my tweet to him with the video. He said it gave him chills. He didn't have to do that, I thought it was pretty cool of him. Meant a lot, seeing as I listen to him all the time on the telecasts. Peace. Kas the Great
  12. MCVicious & DS17Fanboy, Thanks so much for the props, definitely was a labor of love to produce. To my surprise, I had so much fun doing it that I think I'm going to put out some more projects. Also, the style of ball this team plays is contagious. I disagree with those that call this boring basketball. Although I must admit some of those Tim Duncan teams were a little tough to watch, when all they did is dump it down into the post ... but watching a team that can really pass the ball is a joy to watch. But on the subject of music & videos, I will should have some other projects coming out in the not too distant future that might be of interest to you. Oh, & incidentally, I tried to get this project done in time for the playoffs, just couldn't pull it together fast enough. This was my first video, and while fun, it takes a little time & a whole lot of patience to pull it all together. The music, was the easy part. The hard part was keeping it clean and family friendly, cause you know I wanted to curse the Labrons and the refs out after some of those games - LOL. Anyway, thanks again for the kind words, much appreciated. Peace & Blessings. Kas the Great (aka Father Time on the M-I-C)
  13. If LMA is looking at the Lakers, perhaps he is attracted to all the bright hollywood lights. If that is the case, the ATL isn't a bad alternative to that with all the movies drawn to the city due to the attractive tax breaks and other fringe benefits the city is using to attract more motion pictures. Of course if it's the beach he is attracted to, we're screwed - LOL. Either way, I applaud the effort Jeff. You might want to give him a couple free passes to Magic City, that might seal the deal - LOL.
  14. Rats!! Meant to make the video play inside the post... maybe one of you more experienced posters can educate a brotha on how to do that... Cheers.
