  1. I'm getting tired of beating down on them too. I have to agree though, the problem is effort. We are as talented as Detroit, Boston, Miami, New Jersey, etc.... the problem is that they come out prepared, knowing their roles, and put it all out on the court where it always seems like we have something else on our minds when we are out there.
  2. Reef/Grob/CC for Garnett works salary wise....... I know I'm just dreaming but if this was to happen, Garnett would have to agree to a contract extension first.
  3. I would have to ponder the idea of losing JT but in the end I'd probably go for it. Wilks/Crawford/Rose/SAR/Theo Dickau/Newble/Ham/Hendu/Nazr Glover/McCaskill/CC
  4. If the Pistons can win with the kind of talent they have, then we can for sure with the right attitude.
  5. Maybe he should get about the same size contract as Bobby Jackson did in SAC and be a 6th man?
  6. There is no way we are going to give him some huge contract after the end of the season. I love his clutch ability and outside shooting, but I, especially at the 2, think he hurts us more than helps us.
  7. Atlanta trades: SF Glenn Robinson (21.4 ppg, 7.6 rpg, 3.0 apg in 37.7 minutes) SF Dion Glover (8.5 ppg, 2.4 rpg, 1.3 apg in 18.4 minutes) Atlanta receives: SG Eddie Jones (17.8 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 3.6 apg in 37.6 minutes) PG Mike James (8.9 ppg, 2.1 rpg, 2.7 apg in 21.3 minutes) Change in team outlook: -3.2 ppg, -3.1 rpg, and +2.0 apg. Chicago trades: SF Eddie Robinson (5.8 ppg, 2.8 rpg, 0.5 apg in 19.2 minutes) PF Marcus Fizer (10.3 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 1.1 apg in 19.1 minutes) PG Jamal Crawford (6.1 ppg, 1.7 rpg, 2.8 apg in 17.5 minutes) Chicago receives: SF Glenn Robinson (21.4 ppg, 7.6 rpg, 3.0 apg in 26 games) SF Dion Glover (8.5 ppg, 2.4 rpg, 1.3 apg in 24 games) Change in team outlook: +7.7 ppg, +0.2 rpg, and -0.1 apg. Miami trades: SG Eddie Jones (17.8 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 3.6 apg in 37.6 minutes) PG Mike James (8.9 ppg, 2.1 rpg, 2.7 apg in 21.3 minutes) Miami receives: SF Eddie Robinson (5.8 ppg, 2.8 rpg, 0.5 apg in 25 games) PF Marcus Fizer (10.3 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 1.1 apg in 20 games) PG Jamal Crawford (6.1 ppg, 1.7 rpg, 2.8 apg in 27 games) Change in team outlook: -4.5 ppg, +2.9 rpg, and -1.9 apg. TRADE ACCEPTED Personally, unless we are getting a solid PF/C in return, I'd like to hold onto Nazr. JT/DD Jones/James? Ira/CC/Ham SAR/Hendu Theo/Nazr/McCaskill The main problem with that would be having a slasher/ball- handler coming off the bench. Maybe even test the waters with JT for a quality PG and an athlete at SG/SF.???

I wouldn't include Glover for Spree. Eddie Jones definitely, but Spree, No.

I definitely think Miami is going to really push the rebuilding thing and Chicago has a lot more young talent to throw out than we do. Between Crawford, Erob, Fizer, they will somehow get Eddie Jones.

First of all, like most of you, I'm all for a new coach. I always seem to defend the Hawks no matter what but I have come to reality. We definitely need someone who will put some fire under our players arses and take away their individual egos. Secondly, I hope Babcock is seeing what Glenn Robinson is worth around the league because I'd like to see him moved. I like the deal we got him with and he's without a doubt a great shooter but I just think we need something different as a team. A SG/SF that can handle and play defense is what we need. The top guy I want is Eddie Jones (as far as not too farfetched) because he can handle, play D, and score if needed. The only problem with him is the fact that Miami would want Defensive players in return so it might have to be a 3-way to get EJ. I was also thinking Latrell Sprewell, Grob and CC for Spree works cap wise. Not sure how Spree is playing though so not sure about that. If Ira is going to be starting, it needs to be at SF, not SG. I wish Miami would take a Grob and Glover for EJ trade. JT/EJ/Ira/SAR/Theo........that's what I want.

    Eddie Jones

I've been thinking of a player that could help us right now but wouldn't necessarily cost us the world. The only problem with acquiring EJ is that the two players I would use in trade for him (JT/Big Dog) aren't established defensive players and that is all Riley seems to want. At first I was thinking a.... T.Best/E.Jones for J.Terry/G.Robinson as the basis of some kind of package but I think we would be giving up too much and I don't think Miami would do it either. I just thought in a win now thought, Best could run our team and Jones would improve our defense while being able to be the 2nd scorer. I guess I'm thinking too much about experience and defense. Not sure if this lineup would be any better. This definitely makes me realize that a coaching change needs to be done first to actually see what we have and what they are worth. 3 things about the lineup below are definitely better than what we have now: 1. More of a identity as a fastbreak team. 2. A much improved defensive team. 3. This team would be more competitive in the playoffs if we were to get there with their experience. We definitely need some help off the bench, though. Best/Jones/Newble/SAR/Theo
  12. I think he might be able to help out a little. I also believe with the way the Grizz are playing, he wouldn't cost much. Although I wouldn't start him over Ira, I'd consider him the first or second guy off the bench for either Ira or Grob. I was just watching the Mavs/Lakers game and was just so astonished by the way the Mavs shoot the ball and felt that we need to do what we can to get some shooters in Atlanta. Not sure what I would offer but, although he isn't quite Brent Barry or an Aaron Mckie, he can shoot lights out and I'm sure he is an adequate ball-handler. I'm almost positive he has been mentioned on here lately, just thought I'd bring his name back up.
  13. Hey guys, I haven't posted in a while but I come by here everyday to read your posts. About tonight and the absence of Shareef, I feel that we still have a great chance to win the ballgame. We are so talented now I feel with JT, Grob, Theo, and co., even with SAR out, we will still be able to give NJ all they can handle. Hendu is no Shareef but he is a capable player. Personally, I might try Hendu on Deke and Theo on Kenyon just on the basis of athleticism. Anyways, I just felt that I should speak my mind on this because I have seen some pessimistic talk on here sense the news on Shareef.
  14. that has been in my mind as well but I never thought they'd look at him. It'd be a perfect signing IMO. I'm not sure what Heard really specializes in as far as coaching but Price would definitely bring some much needed smarts to our young guards and the ability to shoot free throws and from downtown with a good percentage. I think whoever the last vacancy goes to (assuming Price is signed) he needs to bring toughness to the table and the ability to motivate because that was something Mussleman took with him I believe.
  15. It seems that most of the people that judge him in a negative approach are the ones that don't know him. The ones that do know him seem to have nothing but positive things to say about him. He sounds like a responsible guy as far as I can tell. Although the article doesn't say much, at least he isn't down about the trade. He did mention the fact that he likes the city of Atlanta.
  16. No question I thought he was a much more solid player than some of those other PF's that went in the first round. He's definitely built like a beast and you can't deny the fact that he went to Duke.
  17. If we trade for a starting caliber SG like Barry, I think Glover needs to be included in the deal. Since DJ wouldn't be starting we would need him to be the primary BU at SG and SF so he could at least get 25+ minutes of playing time. With him and Glover (assuming Glover would play too), DJ would only get about 15, 20 minutes at most. So....(Throw in Glover instead of the 1st rounder.) 1.DG/CC/E-mail for Barry 2.Sign a VET SG/SF that can handle the ball and play decent perimeter D. 3.Maybe sign either Haslem or another young player to fill the roster. JT/DD BB/DJ DOG/???vet??? SAR/HENDU/Haslem? THEO/NAZ/WILLIS I like the thought of a JT/Barry/Dog/SAR/Theo starting lineup. Barry doesn't necessarily need the shots but make him if you need him to and is a quick player who can run with JT instead of JT outrunning all of his passing possibilities down the court on fastbreaks. T-erry and B-arry, I bet we could come up with some decent nicknames for them two using the last part of there last names. I'd definitely like to see us against SAC in the Finals. JT-Bibby Barry-Christie Dog-Peja SAR-Webber Theo-Divac We match up with them very well considering how good of a team they are. I know I'm getting a little too excited, let's win some regular season games first.
  18. Like I said, it was just an example of the type of move I'd like to do for strictly cap purposes.
  19. You are right about the contracts being not too trade friendly and the luxury tax looming. I'm not sure if the contracts would bother them that much unless, like you said, they got a big luxury tax hit. Having AI, KVH, Mckie, TMac, and Buckner all with long term deals, I don't think that it seems to bother them much. I don't know, I definitely think anything that would rid us of Hendu and CC is worth looking at if it means shorter contracts. I said something about chemistry and how trading away some of our players while bringing in an Ostertag or DC might hurt us in that department. I was thinking and it might not hurt us much really. Only JT/Reef/DJ/Nazr and maybe DG seem to have built much chemistry playing a solid amount of time together (I'd put IRA in there too but he might not be coming back). Hendu and CC were injured most of the season. Hendu/Email for Ostertag works salary wise...? That would leave us with.... JT/DD DJ/DG DOG/CC SAR/NAZ THEO/Otag Look at that I would like to trade and pickup a vet player at either the 1, 2, or 3. And then I would still like to pick up Willis. If you really cared about the cap and shorter contracts and would be willing to give up a little more talent kind of like MIL did with us in the DOG trade we could..... DG/CC/Email/Hendu for Russell(1 yr, 3+M),Ostertag, 2nd rd. pick JT/DD DJ/Russell DOG/???IRA??? SAR/NAZ THEO/Willis/Otag We could fill that swingman spot with an undrafted rookie FA or something for cheap or talk IRA down a little in price.
  20. If he wouldn't be a cancer to our team chemistry than he might be a possibility. It mentioned Philly wanting a younger, more athletic PF in return for Coleman. I don't know about athleticisim but Hendu sure is younger than DC and CC is a very athletic player. Hendu/CC for DC might work after all My only worry about this is team chemistry and if DC would mind coming off the bench. It would be great to get DC for cap purposes but you could always try and think of a 3-way. Like us getting Greg Ostertag or something (big contract, last year), Utah getting DC and Philly getting Hendu/CC. We could still sign Willis and have either him or Nazr playing PF. I think Nazr would do fine at PF if he wasn't guarding a Nowitzki or Garnett.
  21. when some of you might want to chat for a bit.
