  1. If that's true about his upcoming retirement, maybe we should make a run at Pippen. He could really help with DJ I think. Hendu/Kukoc/CC for Pippen/filler I don't know, something....... I think Pippen would be a great 2nd-3rd option with a change of scenery. JT/DD DJ/DG Pippen/Ira SAR/Haslem Ratliff/Nazr I actually really like that, that is if Pippen wanted to come here. Although I think Portland has enough contracts already.
  2. all of my trades I've posted (Spree,TT,Murray) have been for veteran players rather than young players (MM,Battier,etc..) is because in the trades for the vets we will have to give up a few contracts to make salaries meet but in trading for a Mike Miller for example, we won't give up much salary for him but in a year we are going to have to create salary space to keep him.
  3. Quick fix at SF? Atlanta trades: PF Chris Crawford (7.6 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 0.7 apg in 18.7 minutes) SF Dion Glover (8.9 ppg, 3.1 rpg, 1.5 apg in 21.0 minutes) Atlanta receives: SF Lamond Murray (16.6 ppg, 5.2 rpg, 2.2 apg in 32.6 minutes) Change in team outlook: +0.1 ppg, -1.5 rpg, and 0.0 apg. Cleveland trades: SF Lamond Murray (16.6 ppg, 5.2 rpg, 2.2 apg in 32.6 minutes) Cleveland receives: PF Chris Crawford (7.6 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 0.7 apg in 7 games) SF Dion Glover (8.9 ppg, 3.1 rpg, 1.5 apg in 55 games) Change in team outlook: -0.1 ppg, +1.5 rpg, and 0.0 apg. TRADE ACCEPTED I really was impressed with Murray's play last season and I definitely think he would be a solid 3rd option on our team. Maybe throw in a 2nd rounder or something..... I don't know. Just trying to think of solid SF's in which we don't have to give up any of our core or break the bank to in the future. Murray can shoot the 3, post up, and help with rebounding. 4. .....like one of you were talking about. Atlanta trades: PF Alan Henderson (5.5 ppg, 3.7 rpg, 0.4 apg in 16.2 minutes) C Nazr Mohammed(9.7 ppg, 7.9 rpg, 0.4 apg in 26.4 minutes) SF Dion Glover (8.9 ppg, 3.1 rpg, 1.5 apg in 21.0 minutes) Atlanta receives: SF Tim Thomas (11.7 ppg, 4.0 rpg, 1.4 apg in 26.9 minutes) C Ervin Johnson (2.6 ppg, 5.8 rpg, 0.3 apg in 20.5 minutes) Change in team outlook: -9.8 ppg, -4.9 rpg, and -0.6 apg. Milwaukee trades: SF Tim Thomas (11.7 ppg, 4.0 rpg, 1.4 apg in 26.9 minutes) C Ervin Johnson (2.6 ppg, 5.8 rpg, 0.3 apg in 20.5 minutes) Milwaukee receives: PF Alan Henderson (5.5 ppg, 3.7 rpg, 0.4 apg in 26 games) C Nazr Mohammed (9.7 ppg, 7.9 rpg, 0.4 apg in 82 games) SF Dion Glover (8.9 ppg, 3.1 rpg, 1.5 apg in 55 games) Change in team outlook: +9.8 ppg, +4.9 rpg, and +0.6 apg. TRADE ACCEPTED Due to Atlanta and Milwaukee being over the cap, the 15% trade rule is invoked. Atlanta and Milwaukee had to be no more than 115% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- JT/DD/Email DJ/Ira TT/Kukoc/CC SAR/Haslem Ratliff/Johnson I like that actually......
  5. ......here's one that works. Atlanta trades: SF Dion Glover (8.9 ppg, 3.1 rpg, 1.5 apg in 21.0 minutes) PF Chris Crawford (7.6 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 0.7 apg in 18.7 minutes) C Nazr Mohammed(9.7 ppg, 7.9 rpg, 0.4 apg in 26.4 minutes) PF Alan Henderson(5.5 ppg, 3.7 rpg, 0.4 apg in 16.2 minutes) Atlanta receives: SF Clarence Weatherspoon(8.8 ppg, 8.2 rpg, 1.1 apg in 30.8 minutes) SF Latrell Sprewell(19.4 ppg, 3.7 rpg, 3.9 apg in 41.1 minutes) Change in team outlook: -3.5 ppg, -6.4 rpg, and +2.0 apg. New York trades: SF Clarence Weatherspoon (8.8 ppg, 8.2 rpg, 1.1 apg in 30.8 minutes) SF Latrell Sprewell (19.4 ppg, 3.7 rpg, 3.9 apg in 41.1 minutes) New York receives: SF Dion Glover (8.9 ppg, 3.1 rpg, 1.5 apg in 55 games) PF Chris Crawford (7.6 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 0.7 apg in 7 games) C Nazr Mohammed (9.7 ppg, 7.9 rpg, 0.4 apg in 82 games) PF Alan Henderson (5.5 ppg, 3.7 rpg, 0.4 apg in 26 games) Change in team outlook: +3.5 ppg, +6.4 rpg, and -2.0 apg. TRADE ACCEPTED Due to Atlanta and New York being over the cap, the 15% trade rule is invoked. Atlanta and New York had to be no more than 115% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This trade would probably only work if Glover has actually boosted his value this summer. I like this trade because we would be trading 3 long term contracts and another possible future long term contract in DG for 2 long contracts and probably another roster I believe. If NY wants to get rid of Spree as bad as it sounds they do then why not. The only problem is that it leaves us with no backup Center. The difference is Harrington and Spoon makes up a lot too I think. Although I think Spoon has a bigger deal, he's a true banger which is what we need. He could probably hold his own at Center against some of the smaller East Centers. JT/DD Spree/Ira DJ/Kukoc SAR/Spoon/Haslem Ratliff/??? That starting lineup has just about everything in it: Athleticisim, Experience, Leadership, youth, defense, post-up game, some outside shooting, speed, etc...... One thing it does lack though is rebounding and that is about it.
  6. Actually, I think the deal one of you was talking about was DG/NAZR/ Kukoc or Hendu. I think that might be a little much for Spree since Nazr on his own is a decent trade commodity.
  7. Jason has and will play an intricate part of the success we have if we ever do experience some level of success. Personally I like the fact that the Hawks' name is coming up in trade rumors regardless if they are true or not just for the simple fact the Hawks are being active and looking around. But in reality, there's no one (at least I don't think) out there that we could get in return for Terry that would make as much of a difference that Terry makes for us, on and off the court. On another note, I don't hold much of a grudge towards Sprewell. I actually wouldn't mind him playing in Atlanta as long as he was happy to be here. I could live with a DG/Kukoc/Hendu for Spree/filler trade for sure. But that probably won't happen because NY needs a PG more than they need another slasher type player. If DG has truly improved to where he is going to get a nice contract next year, it would financially be smart to move him in a deal now. Believe me, I'm a Georgia Tech fan and I've always wanted for Glover to break out for us. I'd really like for us to trim down our roster though. Getting rid of Hendu would be huge in terms of making room for a player like Haslem who makes 10% of the money but probably almost as effective. I definitely wouldn't mind having this as our next season starting lineup though: Jason Terry Latrell Sprewell DerMarr Johnson Shareef Theo Ratliff Although Spree might have lost a step, so has Kukoc and Hendu right? I've seen some of you mention that trade for Spree that I did and that is why I'm talking about it. I just think that looks great on paper, maybe that's why it sikes me up a little about trades and similar stuff.
  8. If he is right around 6'9 with shoes on, I really hope he makes the team. From at least what I've seen, I think he can be every bit as good as a Kenny Thomas or that type of player. Him and Nazr would be a very solid rebounding BU PF/C combo.
  9. I'd like the old Pac Man uni's back but I know that won't happen.
  10. I haven't posted much in a while but I still check by here all the time. I like the thought of resigning Ira for cheap but the rest of our FA's need to be let go like most of you agree with. Cal, Strick, Mottola (I like his heart but just isn't what we need) and Vaughn (I like him as well but we all know the situation there). If we can get down to 11 players, I think we could get a decent player in a sign-and-trade for Vaughn but that's it. I would also buyout Email's contract. I don't think that would hurt too much. JT/DD DJ/Glover Ira/Kukoc/CC SAR/Hendu Theo/Nazr/Smith The thought of DD and Kukoc being on the court at the same time gets me pretty excited about our 2nd unit. DD/DG/TK/ Hendu/Nazr is a damn solid BU unit.
