Basketball is about matchups.   Cleveland has advantages against Toronto and us.  When they play GS, those advantages disappear.

They wouldn't really have those advantages against us if we could just simply make our open shots.  The Hawks main weakness comes down to poor shooting.

Hopefully Humph is more surprised than upset about it. He really showed up against the Cavs who always make our bigs look weak. Weird he's bounced around the past couple of years. After he signed that big contract with the Nets he ended being treated as a salary dump more than once. Seems pretty skilled all around and definitely likes to eat glass.

Apparently coaches are just holding that Kardashian thing against him.  You would have to be blind to not be a little impressed by him.

  3. I am sure Dennis is the direction the Hawks will go but when all is said and done,  i think Jeff will have more wins with the Hawks than Dennis will lead us to in the future.  Dennis potential is all based on how he learns to use his head during games.

Is that a bad thing?  Horford aint taking the Hawks anywhere. In fact, i dont know IF Barkley said the Hawks should keep both Horford and Howard.  A more attractive option would be to sign howard, and trade teague, korver and their first to move up to get Hield:

    pg dennis

    sg hield

    sf thabo

    pf Sap

    c Howard

THAT is potentially a eastern conference title championship squad right there.

It might get you 1 win against the Cavs.  LOL

Being able to watch the Hawks while living in the mountains sounds like a wonderful time.

I live in the mountains also.  It helps you to forget about these Cavs series pretty quickly with all the things you can get back to doing like fishing, hunting hiking and just sitting on the porch listening to the creek in the evening drinking a cold one.

I saw Pistol and Nique play.   I was really young when I saw him.   I loved to watch Sweet Lou Hudson.  He was silky smooth.   I saw John Drew, Tree Rollins, Danny Rounds and others.      Anybody remember Wes Matthews, Mike Sojourner, Tom McMillan, Tom Henderson, Freeman Williams, Antoine Carr, Armond Hill..................and a few more????

I saw everyone on your list play except Lou Hudson.

People give props to Schröder for his play in game 4.  I saw it as Hero ball.   I still think he's more liable to abandon and offensive game plan and do his own thing.  On the last play of the game, we had open shooters on the perimeter.  He runs into Lebron and gets tangled into a jump ball situation.

I still don't believe that he will ever conform to being a PG.  Teague may be too timid to do it all the time.  The answer may be elsewhere.  I don't know.

Yeah he cost us a chance to win the game by just trying to bulldog into the defenders and another situation where we don't even get up a damn shot when we could win a game. Pathetic.

Man, it doesnt matter WHO passes the ball, its who SHOOTS the ball. The Hawks get just as many open looks as Cleveland. Does it matter if atlanta using a TEAM concept to get the open look, vs ONE player who gets the open look?  Getting OPEN is all that matters.

Cleveland as a TEAM shoots better than the Hawks. Put Lebron on the Hawks and  you think the Hawks would be as good as the Cavaliers?  I dont think so. It doesnt matter how open you get if you cant put the ball in the hole.

Lets get something straight, im not down playing that lebron effects how a defense plays Cleveland. My point is the END RESULT is a open look that the Cavs get, but, Atlanta gets open looks also.

You are right, people just don't seem to understand that the Hawks just cannot shoot.

It seems like shooting %s seem to get an insanse boost whenever a team plays the Hawks. It's been going on for a good while now. Bizarre.

It is really weird that the top ranked defense in the East lately is the team giving up historic 3 point percentages.  For some reason it is more important for the Cavs to show the Hawks up than anything on their goal list.  My statement will be backed up when you see how they shoot against their next couple opponents.  I cannot wait to see their shooting come back to earth and lose again to the Warriors.

History clearly and resoundingly shows that you need future hall of fame caliber players to win NBA titles.  Players that are routinely All NBA first and second teamers.  Nobody in that lineup fits that criterea.  So, no.  That team won't win any titles.

One reason why not is because Paul has gotten where he cannot dribble or hold onto the ball down low, and especially during crunch time.  It is like butterfingers.  The group you assembled just wouldn't hold up under the pressure at the end of 4th quarters.

Cleveland  is a bad example. They have what we don't have on the court - SUPERSTAR.

They can add headcases, and middling  players who look average on other teams but world beaters next to LeBron. You think Tristan  Thompson  gets  that contract without LeBron on that team. How'd he look next to Irving b4 LBJ? How'd  Frye look on the Orlando team b4 being traded?  If we added Frye all you'd  hear is 'we added another SORF jump shooting  big' when we need rim.protection, post play and rebounding.

Looks like the odds are low on SUPERSTAR,  haven't had one since Dominique.  Looks like we all  will have to bide our time till the "Elbow King" retires.

trout7,you are 1 bitter frustrated dude.   dude,if you play, you either win or,LOSE.   Shake it off bro.  im giving the hawks props dude.

for years,we had jordan, holding us down. AND I WANTED PATRICK EWING TO WIN A TITLE SO BAD. WASNT MEANT TO BE.  Pat is such a good dude, that hurt. but the bulls were just better.   then after that EVERY SUPERSTAR, wanted to come to the garden and,DROP 50.

that became the thing to do.  i understand the frustration.

Yeah you're right about the frustration, you can't imagine the time i have put in over the years on these Atlanta teams going all the way back to being a 12 year old sitting in the cold Atlanta Fulton County Stadium, and seeing the cowboys come from 14 down late in 4th quarter in playoffs to break my heart.  I've been sticking with all the teams all these years and sometimes these frustrations just come out.  I let myself get sucked into believing in teams over and over when i know better.  Good luck to you bud.

By the way, lebron did the same thing to my KNICKS FOR YEARS.   And,i really wasnt happy.

funny, work brings me here to cleveland ohio.   then couple years later here come J.R.  and SHUMP.  And,they play a lot more loose here or something.sometimes it was like going thru the motions at the garden.   IM RAMBLING HERE,just saying i was there but now i gotta just hand it to lebron. HE IS JUST A WINNER.WITH A TAlented team he can advance. then he can carry a pretty average team himself. amazing dude.

I think you write sentences about the same level Lebron does.  I didn't come on here to listen to somebody praise  the "King of Elbows."

  14. It is really going to be interesting to see if the  Cavs can keep shooting threes anywhere near the rate they are in this series.  I say they won't because they just have some extra level of confidence and belief against the Hawks.  I can't wait to see the Cavs fans get to see Lebron lose to the Warriors again.  The best part of this series being over is not having to see Tristan Thompson  squishing that mouthpiece in and out continuously anymore.   Cleveland won't ever get their championship with Lebron and he will ease off somewhere else.

The VERY reason ive been clowning this team was put on display.  The Hawks aint a bad team. The problem is ownership, thru management ( bud), REFUSES to and will continue to REFUSE to get a player or two to put this team over the top.  Cleveland was loaded last year, then, added J.R. and Shumpert.  What they do this year? They added Frye to this bunch. What the Hawks do?  They was already outmanned, and did NOTHING last year and this year,  pick up b league Splitter. Splitter wouldnt have made a difference.  Another b league pick up for the Hawks.

The Hawks did their BEST tonight.  They hustled, got after it. Hit big shots, and it wasnt enough because Cleveland is loaded.  Heck, you better be able to rebound and shoot with them, and the Hawks cant.  Again, whats frustrating is the Hawks dont SERIOUSLY attempt to improve this squad. It didnt need a major makeover. How is it Cleveland, waaaaaaay smaller market than Atlanta, can find ways to add to their team, but Atlanta cant??

This series lost Atlanta fans.  Wait, they think attendance was down this year, wait till next year.  Blow this crap up if you dont wanna add to it. Makes no difference either way if you aint serious about a championship.

Channing Frye. REALLY, the Hawks couldnt have used him????

You are 100% right on.  I am 49 years old and have wasted a shameful amount of my time on these owners of Atlanta sports teams tease and make fools of fans for too long. I am going to start putting all my free time back in to fishing and things I can control.
