JR "Strip Club" Smith will continue owning us with no look threes. Sweep. I am hoping we can play with pride and a little mean streak in us.

I think Humphries would welcome battling for rebounds against Thompson or anybody. Would anyone else on our team?
I honestly don't think Bud likes tough guys.

What is the feud with Humphries? At least he could battle with Thompson some. Al doesn't like too. Hope Edy improves really fast for next year.
There is no feud with Humphries, Bud is just offended by his offensive rebounds.

They have made their bed by parting with Ferry and now they are going to have to lay in it.

The only way to escape the embarrassment of being an Atlanta sports fan is to take solace in the fact that i do not live in this city. It is kinda nice to live 100 miles away in the mountains when your teams always lay their obligatory eggs in the postseason.

Cleveland would win NBA championship easy if they had this kind of confidence against other teams and shot threes like they do against the Hawks. The problem is they won't play this way against other teams. The Cavs shoot threes like friggin robots against the Hawks. There is nothing you can do when one team shoots a higher percentage on threes than the other team shoots on layups.

It always comes down to our poor shooting in the end, we only have ourselves to blame.

I can't believe I am saying this but the refs have been good tonight!

Lol so your expecting him to turn into Kareem now. He wasn't Kareem when we were winning all year. Coach Bud needs to find away to play to their strengths. If he and the PG's can't do that we lose. I guess Korver should start taking people off the dribble since he's 6'7. I promise you Horford would look a alot better if he was getting the wide open shots Lebrons creating for Kevin Love.
You are probably right, but it just seems like we can't even make open shots when we play the Cavs. We definitely get a case of the nerves against them.

I'll say this in Horford's defense this offense has done a complete 180 on him. His shots were all pick and roll and pick and pop in the regular season. Now in the infinite wisdom of coach Bud or the inability of our PG's to to get him the same shots he got in the regular season. He's getting the majority of his shots from post ups which is not his strength. I would wager less than 20% of his shots were post up in the regular season, but in the playoffs it seems to be almost 60% of his shots. I can't figure why that is.
Is there some reason a man 6' 10" can't post up. He has decent looks he just can't make shots.

Looks that way so far because we can't hit the broadside of a barn. LOL.

Always brick city as usual against the Cavs. Horford playing like a rookie.
-
It is always comical to watch Hawks fans come up with these scenarios of getting star players to come to Atlanta. None of these scenarios ever even come close to seeing the light of day. LOL.

That makes me feel pretty special that i was 1 of the 2 households out of 100 that was watching a Hawks game.

I think everyone wanting to keep Bazemore maybe has more to do with him being very popular than him having rare skillsets. I think he is a little above average at his position.

I was just thinking about this the last night.
It seems that people are ok with handing Horf a max contract while also giving Bazemore 13-15 million a year.
If Cleveland wins the series easily, I don't know how you can justify that. It's not as if Bazemore's skill set is all that rare. He is average in most regards. Average scorer, Average shooter and an Average rebounder. He doesn't have much in the way of handles. Athleticism is the one area where he gives the team a boost. I'm not sure how well Baze works as a starting SG since he has no handles and average shooting ability. He is too small at the three spot.
Horford isn't going anywhere.

The Hawks management obviously loves Horford, Korver and Bazemore, but I would be surprise if the Hawks keep those 3 together. If i had to choose i would say Bazemore stays on a decent contract; but at this point it makes no sense to sign Horford to a big contract. He is a great guy, good player, but if you Max a player it better be a superstar.....I wonder if the Hawks break the mold and try to pursue Blake Griffin for Horford (sign & trade deal) or something similar.
If the series doesn't go 6....Does it make sense to keep together a team that is 2nd or 3rd best in the East? The business side w/new ownership probably points to NO.
GO HAWKS, but change is near...and I expect Horford to be GONE>>>>>>>>
I don't think we would win more with Blake Griffin.

There's a whole lot of B.S. on here. Lot of fans dragging their feet kissing Lebron's feet. I don't want to see us "give them a good game."... BS.. I want to see us win... AND WE CAN.
We have one of the best defenses in the league. Our offense can be a problem for most of the league.. when we play it. This is not last year. Last year, we faced a more in tuned version of the Cavs and we were injured all over the place. This year, we face a Cavs team that is disjointed and are just putting up an appearance. This team is ready to fold as soon as they are under pressure. We'll we are the pressure bringing. Here's how I see it.
They will go to Love and Sap will shut that down. They will go to Kyrie and he will not have an easy day. So Lebron will take over and piss everybody off. In the meanwhile, our offense will have it's way.
The only intangible are the refs. IF the game is called fairly, we may win in 5.
I could admit you might be right about all this, but we are going to have to consistently start shooting better to make this come to fruition.
-
I think the Hawks will get their opportunities with Bud's game plans, but i think their downfall will be their overall poor shooting. They get hot in streaks sometimes but it just seems like we have been waiting all year for the shooting to get consistent and it just hasn't. I really think this team would have a high ceiling if it could just make some more of their open shots but i don't think our offense is going to catch up anywhere near our defense. I don't think you can realistically at this point hope for the shooting to get better.

I will be satisfied if we can just make it tough on the Cavs and not get embarrassed like last year. I just wish Lebron could for once get some karma his way for throwing all those elbows he gets away with.
-
It is starting to make the Hawks front office and coach look pretty bad for going out and getting him, then stubbornly refusing to use him. He seems likeable and works hard and in my opinion would help us against Cleveland much more than Muscala could. Bud has such a long leash on some of his players, but it is very tight on Humphries.

I like Dennis but I wish he was just used to rest Teague, rather than be his equal. You won't ever see me critical of someone else's posts on here. I have no problem with free speech.
