The teams that draft after us would be very content with Williams and Paul because they work them out. If we pass on Marvin then Red Flags go up about why we passed.

If we are so desperate for another wing(Marvin Williams) why didn't we work out Gerald Green, Martell Webster and others. All of this Marvin Williams talk was just us trying to force someones hand to give us something for him but with Utah trading up we don't have that luxury any more.

Marvin William on every draft board is slated to be drafted by the hawks similar to the way Deng was a lock for the number 1 pick up until a few weeks before the draft last year. Mark my word the hawks will Take Cris Paul and Marvin Williams will fall in Charlotte's lap at 5. Can't wait till the draft only 2 more hours!!!!!!!!!!

We already have Al Harrington what I considered a polished tweener 4/3 why would we pick another unpolished version. I don't think even Babcock was that stupid. I think that we really have no interest in keeping Marvin Williams and is just using him in order to get Portland or Charlotte to up their bid for his services. I think that's the reason why we are hearing reports about how Marvin wowed us in his workouts. Marvin Williams has stated on several occassions that the Hawks told him even before he worked out for them that he won't fall pass 2. BK also told Marvin to don't workout for the Blazers because I think if they saw what the Bucks saw that they probably wouldn't want to pick him. ON Hoopshype.com they have an article entry that states that we were offered D.Miles and 3rd pick for the 2nd Pick. I would have took that deal in a heartbeat because I love Miles Versatility and D. I have a feeling that we are going to get screwed trying to be greedy when we could just pick Bogut or the best PG available. I hope BK knows what he's doing because I don't want any player (Marvin Williams) that's never seen a playoff game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Andrew Bogut is a better leaper than David Lee and that is very shocking because I consider Lee to be a very good athlete. I said before if he had a vertical of at least 30 inches then you have to draft him!!

I think you are exactly right Tmac we would be foolish if we draft Marvin Williams when we are loaded at the 3 spot. I think in a situation like this we can hurt the future of our team if we just take Marvin Williams because other teams desperately need his services. I think a similiar situation occurred a few years back when the bulls screwed themselves trying to be greedy and drafted Marcus Fizer when they had Elton Brand. I think Fizer would have been a good player if he had went to Orlando as expected. I'm totally against the notion of taking the best player available regardless of position because this henders the production of all the players involved in the situation. IF we draft Marvin and he flourishes and JSmooth or Chill rot on the bench then we want be able to get a good player in return for them. We have a stellar opportunity to get the best center or point guard available and anything else would be foolish.

Would drafting Bogut be considered wise if for ten years he produces at the level that Christian Laettner produced his first 8?

Even though I don't have that many post on this site I was posting at the old AJC forum before people like you Pathway were even supporting the Hawks. There's no reason to be upset that in this situation Diesel and I share the same views!!!

KB, Bogut is constantly compared to Tim Duncan on this site even though it is an inaccurate comparison because Bogut doesn't possess the shot blocking and defensive rebounding prowess that Duncan has.

I can't compare Bogut to Shaq because his style of play isn't similiar to Shaq's and the same can be said when comparing him to Ewing,Hakeem,Robinson. CBAreject stated "Laettner never post 10 board per in college" Laettner could have easily average 10 boards in a conference of Centers of 6'8 and below. Me comparing Bogut's game to Laettner was in no way an insult because I feel that Laettner was a damn good player during his years in Minn, and ATL. Some of you white guys try and make it seem like a majority of us black guys are against white players but in all actuality we have the same appreciation of the game as you guys. I don't know any black guys that don't respect what Dirk,Ginobli,AK-47 and ect bring to the table. I'm sticking by my guns if Bogut is as good as Laettner draft him!!!

I think Bogut is a good player who did alot when you think about that he was the only talented player on his team but I don't think that he is as good as Christian Laetner was coming out of college. Laetner played against top notch talent in college and put up similiar numbers and possessed the same skills in being a good passer, good shooter all the way out to the college 3, and solid rebounder. Assessing the two players is kind of difficult when you think about that Laetner was surrounded by quality players but played in the best conference in comparision to Bogut who played with no one against no one. Laetner had a solid NBA career and would you guys be happy if Bogut gave us Laetner production over his first 8 years in the league?? I must admit if Bogut can Bring what Laetner brought to the table during his Atlanta years then I would be satisified but personally I doubt if he is that good!!!!!

I'm very excited about next season because with a good draft and just one big name FA we could be back in business big time this is a good draft to have multiple picks in the second round with all the player parity!!!!

Why are people so high on Marvin Williams when he was just a role player at Carolina and low on a guy like Villanueva who played such a prominent role on a top 5 team like UConn. For the Last 3 months of the season Villanueva was UConn's best player. I can't wait to hear about him working out against Marvin Williams!!!!!

Villanueva played mostly 4 this season at UConn with Boone getting most of the time at the 5. I just love his length and his ability to play inside and out. His game IMO is a combination of Lamar Odom/Rasheed Wallace. The kid definitely has superstar potential that was hidden because of UConn having such a deep team. I think we should bring him in when we work out Marvin Williams.

I think that once the individual workout start and people get a chance to analize this guys all around skill he will move his way into the lottery. I think this guy has the potential to be Rasheed Wallace, or a Derrick Coleman in his prime. I Love his shot blocking Ability, Length, Athletism and his ability to score inside and out. I hope we trade the number 1 and get Villanueva and Jarret Jack!!!!!!!!! Charlie V. is the only player coming out of college that I think could be a superstar in the league!!!!!

To pull the race card in this situation is disgraceful. I don't care about color as long as a guy can go out and perform. I love the way Dirk,AK-47,Yao,Brad Miller, and Big Z play!! I just think that from what I've seen of Bogut that he plays alot like Okur. Both are physical and have great foot work in the post,both can hit the medium range J but both lack the leaping ability that would make them an elite superstar player. Anyone who would say that being compared to Okur,or Big Z is racist is unbelievable to me. Their is no way you could compare Bogut's game to that of Yao,Duncan, and Shaq because his style of play is totally different.

I realize during the Modern Era of guys playing the Center position that the successful franchise centers all were athletic. The Center Position is the only spot were an the lack of athletism will hender you from being dominant. Guys who lack athletism like Brad Miller, Big Z are good players but because of their lack of athletism they are not dominant. Therefore, neither of those guys would warrant being an #1 overall pick. We need someone who is going to provide dominance offensively and on D. B/S stats about block shots against guys who's average height is about 6'8 isn't going to cut the cake and those are the type of stats that are presented in reference to Bogut D. A good Measurement would be the number of Blocks he had against team U.S.A. or Argentina in the Olympics.

Drobs and Okur have played at the highest level in Europe and produced heavily so I know that both could average anywhere to 25-30 points a game at a mid major. Boguts Olympic stats are overated because we really didn't have that much scouting information on him and some of the rest of the guys that participated during the basketball events. However during the course of an 82 game season teams no every detail about what a player is capable of doing

The only way I would draft this guy is if he has at least an 30 inch vertical and does well in individual agility test if not he isn't a better prospect than M. Okur for the Jazz or Drobs for us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
