  1. we beat the teams that we are suppose to beat we have a great chance to get in.
  2. 10-7 on the road and 13-3 at home. 17 games against teams with losing records. If we can go 14-3 against the teams with losing records and 8-8 against the teams with winning records that would put us at 22-11 for the second half still probably good enough to make the playoffs.
  3. I think that the next 5 games are going to be very tough. We play the warriors at Home, Toronto(with Vince) on the road, a Home and Home with Indy, and Big D on the road. I think the success or failure of the team in next 5 games will determine if the teams is broken up or not. It would be great to win the first 2 games get a spit with Indy and Upset Dallas on the road. I think that if this scenario happens that we will make the playoffs!!!! Go Hawks!!!!!!
  4. I think that in order for us to make the playoffs will have to post a record in this range to make the post season. I think that beating Golden State would be a very good start. It's going to be a tough game because our "should have been "coach has those guys playing good basketball out West. Personally I feel like we have the talent to get on a good winning streak and maybe make the playoffs.
  5. if we trade away Terry, and Reef I'm finished with the hawks organization. I have supported this team through thick and thin!!! I was still a fan when we traded away my favorite player Neke for Danny Manning. I supported the team when it had Smitty,Mookie, and Deke and ect... but enough is enough if that insider report has any Merit and we trade away our quality players for that garbage I'm officially finished as a hawks fan. [censored] you Pete Babcock!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. Nazr and Alan Henderson for Brevin Knight and Lorenzen Wright. Works with the trade checker on Realgm. Trade would give the Grizz another young bigman in Nazr rid them of Lo's Huge contract and get rid of Brevins Contract.
  7. Alan Henderson and Cris Crawford for Brevin Knight and Lo Wright works with the trade checker but probably would never happen. Hendu's playing inspired and deals expire one year before Lo's and Cris Expires one year After Brevin. Man I would love to bring those two players back to Atlanta. It true that Lo is inconsistent but he and JT had great chemistry and B. Knight would solve our backup point guard woes. I would even trade Nazr if it meant we could somehow get Lo back!!!!!! I sure wish that pipe dream would come true!!!!!!!!!
  8. I think that we could be an excellent team if we could limit our turnovers and play consistent defense. I thin that the answer could come in the form of no other than Brevin Knight. In know way am I saying to acquire Brevin to replace JT but I think that he is just the guy we need to spell JT because we would have 5 extra wins if JT had not ran out of gas from handling the basketball so much. With Brevin your not going to get much scoring but I think he would provide excellent defense and leadership. He is the odd man out in Memphis and could be acquire for little or nothing. He is also one of the league best in Assist to Turnover ratio. He is familiar with Lon's system and could adjust and help now!! I know some are saying would about rookie from Gonzaga. I just don't think that he is ready to contribute and Brevin still relatively young would be an excellent insurance policy in case he doesn't pan out.
  9. I think that we will probably win tonite against the wolves because they are coming to town on a back to back. There game against Memphis was tough and went into overtime. All of their key players logged over 40 minutes. We are tough at home and have been resting after a relatively easy game against Toronto. Last but not Least Wally World just went on the IR. I expect big games from JT,Dog, and Glove. 7-4 would be an excellent start to the season!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. Has Dion ever cried about not getting shots. Dion is an excellent team player. He even told Lon last season that he would come off the bench if it would help the team more. It seems to me that your saying every guy in the league who can create his own shot has low team Skills. I guess Ira is an excellent team player because he has limited offensive skills. If you watched any of the games you would know that Dion got alot of his points on the break. Rarely last season did we just call plays for Dion. In alot of instances I thought we should have.
  11. If Ira Starts and guards the best perimeter player what if that player happens to be a SF are we going to put Dog on a 2? Would Ira benifit us better as a player that comes in for small spurts to be a defensive spark plug or by Logging Major minutes at the 2 and have him be a offensive liability? Did Dion Play a majority of his minutes this season as a 3 and the previous season as a 2? One of Ira's biggest assest is his versatility and I feel like it could be utilized more if we use him as a situational player.
  12. That's only one game. You work for the organization so you especially know that Dion played a majority of the season last year at the 3. Did he or did he not play good D the previous year at the 2. Jay if he did play a majority of his minutes at the 3 do you feel like he was playing out of position or do you agree with this bone head decison of Lon's.
  13. I just can't picture at time when 2 of the big 3 want be out there on the floor. JT,Reef,Dog, all will log major minutes. So what's the use of supposedly saving Dion for the second unit
  14. The reason I say this is because Big Dogg is going to play 40 plus minutes even if he is playing poor D. With this being said should we start an offensive liability at the 2(Ira) or start the guy with the more balanced offense(Dion) and just sub for him when he is having problems on the Defensive end.(Personally I don't think he will have a problem at his natural position) I think last season we just played terrible D as a team until we went with a conventional lineup. JT was a terrible defender as a 2 as well as Dion being a terrible defender as a 3 and everyone knows that Nazr is just horrible on that end of the court.
  15. Ira is the guy that best suited for the bench role because he can guard both the 2 and the 3. Therefore he will always be able to guard the best perimeter player or even the perimeter player that's hot on a certain night. I think that we can utilize him better in a role where his focus is on strictly defense. If he starts he will always be the guy that the double team comes from when teams double Reef and his J just isn't good enough to flourish at this role for long periods of time. Like Diesel said "If Dog is having problems Defensively would you rather sub a fresh Ira or an Ira that is tired from loggin minutes at the 2." I think that our defense will improve from last season from just starting a conventional lineup. I think that this is the main reason why the D improve not the addition of Ira even though he contributed to it. Really we just had a huge hole at "supposedly" pg and small forward and we tried to plug the whole at forward with SGs in Dion and DJ.
  16. DION NEEDS TO START!!!!! AND DION WILL START!!!! If Ira start and he guards the best perimeter player what are we going to do if that player is a 3?? Are we going to put Dog on a 2? Some of you guys post on what you hear instead of analizing the game for yourselfs. Dion look bad last season on D because he played mostly SF. Most players had a height advantage over him. Then for a portion of the season JT was playing 2 and that itself creates mismatches all over the place. When Dion played the 2 the previous season everyone was raving that he was the best perimeter defender we had. Also you have to take into account that Dion got in Lon's Dog house before JT moved back to the point. Therefore Ira was allowed to play the 3 a position that he is better suited for than Dion and we just Decided to play DJ at the 2 because he was doing an excellent in practice and we wanted to see if his play could transfer into game time situations. Dion will defend better at his natural postion of the 2 and that's a fact. Even if Ira gets the nod in the beginning of practice he is going to look like a terrible defender and loose the spot because there is no one the team that can guard Dion one on one. I bet that Dion Guards Ira better than Ira guards Dion. Anyway we have more invested in Dion than Ira and that itself will be an important factor in who starts and who doesn't. I garantee that at the end of training camp Dion will be the starter and it will be up to him if he keeps the spot or not.
  17. the only reason is because we are looking for someone who can flourish without the ball in his hands and this role is more fit for a guy like DJ or Ira. I think that he has the talent to be one of the best 6th men in basketball. He is a 2 but has the strength to play the 3 for small stretches. I'm not ready to give up on Glover because he is the 4th best offensive player on the team and that's good considering the great offensive players we have.
  18. I think that Glove has the ability to be the best 6th man in basketball (with the exception of MJ) if Lon establishes this role for him early. Offensively he has the total package he can shoot drive and is a good free throw shooter. I just hope we utilize this guys skills because he can be a valuable asset in our playoff run.
  19. I think that the battle for the two postion is going to be an interesting one. Personally I'm pulling for DJ to win because we have the most invested in him and this is year 3 supposedly the year where we start to see some production from him. Everyone knows that the winner of the position will be the guy that can defend the best. Don't be surprise if Ira wins the job because it's probably going to come down to who can guard the offensive machine Dion Glover the best. I can just imagine how much Glove scores in practice from being the number 1 option on the second unit. Personally I think that Ira matches up better with Glove than DJ because Ira has the size and muscle to bang with Glove's powering game going towards the basket. I would be very surprised if Glove wins the job because he isn't much of a defender but has the more polished offensive game of the 3.
  20. The NBA has a fetish for tall point guards and I think that Maddux will go in the first like Crawford a couple of years ago. The NBA also gets scared away from point guards that shoot a low percentage. It hurt Van Excel stock as well as Tinsley's stock last year. I know some of you might say that it want happen this year because of the success of these two players but it probably will be the case. Frank Williams jumpshot has been question as well as will he be able to get to the baskets against the quicker guards in the NBA. These elements put together with the rule changes will make this guy stock slip. Some say that the Hawks want draft a guy that they haven't workout but why work out a guy that the Headcoach has coach for a season??? Someone please tell me if I'm crazy or do you agree with what I'm saying??
  21. I have been paying alot of attention to this years upcoming draft and have came up with an interesting theory from analizing mock drafts and pieces from news articles. First of all, IMO the top 5 point guards in the draft are: JWill,Wagner,Dickeau,Frank Williams, Tito Maddux. It's a given that JWill will be a top 2 pick. The second rated point guard in the draft possibly will slip down to the ten spot and if this happens the other point guards will go alot lower than expected. I think that the 3rd rated point guard Dickeau will be selected in the range from 18-21. This is where things could get real interesting. Frank Williams shot the ball terribly his senior season and has done so during workouts. Maddux on the other hand stock has continued to rise with his performance in the Chicago camp and workouts. It is a given that someone from the Chicago Pre Draft camp will be selected in the first round because alot of players skip it and the NBA wants to keep this camp's credibility. The player that I think will slip into the first round is Maddux because he has good size and would have been a lottery pick if he was eliglible. If he goes in front of Frank Williams look for the hawks to try and get in the first round to nap him. If you go to the Hawks website it says that we might trade into the first round if a "certain player" is available. That player folks is Frank Williams. Lon knows alot about the guy because he coached him at Illinois and I garantee that he has told Babs nothing but good things about him. To set the record straight I for one feel like we have a good point guard in JT but I just feel like ESPN and other Websites would not keep insisting that we are looking for a point unless someone in the Hawks organization told this to them. Frank Williams probably will be a hawk and I think that he will be a great addition!!!!!!!!!!!
  22. I think that he would be a great fit for our team because he is a blue collar player who hustles and does the little things that don't show up in the boxscores. The two guys that are worthy canidates are Matt and Donyell. Matt moreso than Donyell because Donyell is a tweener. He is more of a power forward than small forward. IMO he is very similar to Reef but can't score as much as Reef. Matt Harpring on the other hand is a true small forward. The reason why some people don't respect his game is because their isn't one particular thing that he does great but he is very solid in all aspects of the game. The only issue with Harpring is can he stay healthy if healthy he would be the answer to our small forward woes. I think we don't need a great scorer at the 3 because we have JT,Reef,Toni, Theo, who will carry the scoring load on most nights. Matt Harpring is a bigger version of Ira with more offensive game so IMO he would be the guy I would give the exemption to!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
