Yea I don't believe it but if this happens, I might have to question my loyal to this team.
This is the darkest timeline so I'm refusing to believe it.

JJJ and Young scream bust to me. And those seem to be the two most prevalent rumors so far. It's gonna be a long month til the draft....

First time in a week or more that I was able to come here without an error. Here's hoping they got it fixed...
Time to test all the site functionality...woohoo.

Possible. But it's unlikely. Divac and Peja running that team. Doncic is a need for them.
Reports say Sac is taking Ayton/Doncic no matter what. That leaves Bagley unless we try to move up which doesn't seem plausible.

He had stints at Cleveland, Golden State, Memphis and Philly. Plus was an assistant with his former college and they recently wanted him as their head coach.
I am good with this. He is into player development and appears for all intents and purposes to be a leader.
Cool. I looked up a few segments he did while a 76ers assistant. He seems well spoken and looks the part of a leader. Can't way to see how we scheme. I wonder what he's going to do for assistants....I hope Ham gets the chance to stick around.

And its official. What's the deal with this guy other than a few years in Philly? I feel like I know less about him than all the other candidates...

5 years of misery just to get ousted in the 2nd round.
Tanking doesn't work.
And now the Hawks are going to hire their head coach from this pathetic organization.
Not really 5 years of misery. Most of the actual Philly fans I know were excited as much as 2/3 seasons ago since they knew what the potential was going to be with Embiid. Even now, I think I'm more excited about the Hawks than I have been since the 60 win season. Don't make it out like everyone is miserable bro.

I would be more confident in that assesment if Coach Bud was still on board. I know what he brings. You are hoping that a new coach will be as effective as Bud, and he could be but there is an unknown attached to a new coach and a young team. Schlenk has said he'll be leveraging capspace for 1st round picks meaning no viable free agents. Will he sign quality vets to supplement the team of young players?
I'm excited for the offseason to see where we are headed.
The way I see it, we've got some key vets right now with Baze, Dennis, and Prince. I'm not sure who we add or what that looks like this season, but I know we're going to have at least two rookies who should be getting minutes to go along with them. I think we have good culture when it comes to player personnel, and any sort of optimism has us landing a coach who is a good fit with that.
Either way, we get to see what Collins is really made of, whether or not Prince takes the next step, and our shiny new draft pick. Oh, and a new coaching regime. At the very least, I think I'll be entertained regardless of our record this season and the team will have a good framework for 2019.

Dude is trash..he couldn't get the Hornets Rollin when Clifford went out..I would rather have Jarron Collins who has extensive knowledge of Kerry's offensive..
You really think a guy who hops in to head coach in the middle of the season is going to be able to make real adjustments? Anyone who has done any kind of people management knows you can't change culture/effort/strategy overnight.

Being desperate for 'playoffs' is what led us into the cycle of being 'so good but no good'. Signing guys to big contracts out of fear, not because they deserved them.
I don't like the tanking process either but I get we needed to reboot. That's all this is ... hopefully.
Really though, I don't even think we are out for more than another year or two if we nail this draft pick. The East has gotten marginally better, but we're realistically a good draft pick or two away from being better than Miami and Washington. I mean, who could've predicted that the Pacers were going to have the season they did?
I feel like I'm a little bit more optimistic than some of the board. I'm not even that bummed about Bud leaving as long as the next coach we hire can draw up an inbounds play. That ish was soooooo frustrating to watch sometimes. I don't think we're really in contention for another 5 years (But I also don't think Philly is a real contender either, I mean they only beat Miami, big deal.....). Young players take time. But I do think watching Collins and whoever we end up with our first pick or two is going to be super exciting next year regardless of our record.

Add Baze to that list Too
That's so sad, too. I really hope once Baze's contract is up he re-signs at a much cheaper option. Dude is great for culture, just not worth nearly his cap hit. I'd like to see him as a Hawk the rest of his career.

If they pass on him, that would say alot also...
Very true. I keep thinking of that clip of him dunking on Adrian Payne....which concerns me about the talent level he's been putting his stats up against. Even when he beats him, it doesn't really look like he blows by him. I don't know much about Euro ball, but I'd really like to see him against better competition.

Still hoping we get lucky in the actual lottery and they don't have the option to pick him. Definitely agree with you that it would be pretty shocking if they didn't take him and he was available after hiring Kokoskov.
Yeah, I think it is safe to say Doncic is gone if the Suns pick ahead of us.

He’s probably going to win out and be the head coach. I rather Fizdale but that’s not happening
There's also the whole Fizdale-Gasol thing that concerns me, and the fact that he would be going from one dysfunctional ownership group to another....a lot of me thinks even if we could get Fizdale, it might not be a good fit.

Ok cool what’s the scoop on Silas? I need info
Coaching lifer, has the Schlenk-Golden State connection (Steph likes him). Pretty highly regarded on some Charlotte fans, and was legitimately looked at by the Rockets a couple seasons ago.

Hopefully he gets a couple more years seasoning out in San Fran and Hawks pass on him for now. Best of luck becoming a great coach, just not right now and not with the Hawks (crosses fingers).
For sure, I hope we end up getting Fizdale, but it seems like it could be a long shot IMO. The only other name I've seen in the coach search that intrigues me is Silas.

David Fizdale on Jarron Collins:
“With what he is gaining from a knowledge standpoint in coaching with that team and being part of that championship culture with the coaches he is learning under — Steve Kerr, Mike Brown, Ron Adams — Jarron is getting an Ivy League education. And with his ability to communicate with guys, I think he has a great temperament for the job. I can very easily see an organization looking at him for a job and being intrigued.”

Jarton Collins to interview for HC with Hawks. Guess some of you were right who said Schlenk would want to bring him in.
I've seen interviews with Collins over the years and he appears to be very well spoken and intelligent. I don't know much about his coaching background, but he seems like the kind of guy that could come in and rally a young team.

So I've had season tickets on and off over the years...I'll put it this way...if you know you are going to go to a lot of games, it can be worth it. Get them to throw in concessions and parking. That was the only reason I renewed this year, since to park in the same location is 20 bucks. And I've never been to a game where I didn't buy at least two beers (I've tried, I never made it happen). Once they comp that, it makes the tickets a lot more reasonable.
On top of that, you can buy up 6 additional tickets for each game. I bought 6xGolden State and cleared around 600 bucks. Probably around 200 for each of the cavs games. So, for example, say your tickets were 6k for the season. Get comped parking and a 25 dollar beer credit (that, again, I have tried to not spend. I've snuck pocket shots into the arena and still end up buying beers), that's 1600 off the top. So you're looking at 4400. Then you go and make some money selling tickets for the big games. Lets say conservatively you clear 500 selling 18 tickets to Cle x2 and GS x1. Now you're down to 3900 for the tickets themselves. And if you're going to at least 75% of the games, its not a bad deal.
The first year I had them I was in the 200 level section, loved my seats. I would occasionally sell my tickets back to the hawks and then upgrade (for my price point, it actually ended up being a good deal). It was after doing that a few times that I realized that I cannot go back to sitting in the 200s and wanted to upgrade. Also, next season, most of the 200 section is no longer going to exist (the sideline sections are going to be gone is what I've been told). And it might seem dumb, but I like knowing I don't have to scramble on stubhub or worry about where I'm gonna park or the logistics of finding my seat. Its worth paying for that convenience.
For your situation, it doesn't sound like it would be worth it, but I figured I would post for anyone else who wants to know. You can message me directly if you want more specific information, I'm happy to tell you the positives and negatives I've experienced.
