Not that I don’t agree, but all three could be really really good pros. Barrett and Reddish should sit right at the top. Williamson is the most likely because he doesn’t really have a position in the pros yet. Reddish has to prove he is an NBA athlete. His skill set reminds me of Nicolas Batum. Barrett has to prove he can handle better and shoot, but looks like a no brainer in every other aspect of his game. The comparison to DeRozan I’ve been seeing seems fair. Williamson has the most to prove IMO. Regardless of what position he will be able to defend, he’s got to prove that he can be a shooting threat off the catch at minimum. He is an extremely rare athlete though, but he’s got to develop his game the most out of the 3. Neither of them seem, on paper, like they will play all that well together.

I'm not disagreeing either. In fact the one that will fall will likely be a high value pick. They are all crazy talented.

The thing is there's no place in one team for 3 first option type of players. They have to share usage which results in at least one of them dropping in the rankings

He just contributes to a fan site. He has no affect on what the franchise actually does.

No but his and other beat writers work still seriously affects the hawks.

If beat writers on fan sites or a column constantly shit-talk 80% of the franchise you don't have to wonder when other guys without inside start repeating those phrases until it becomes a fact.

Thats were it actually starts hurting the Hawks in value.

Absolutely right.  Kid worked, got much better.  It was nice to watch his progression.  I'll be keeping tabs on him in OKC.  One of my favorite players, for some reason.

I f*cking hate how everyone turned his back on him. Its not that he did something throughout this offseason. Its agenda-driven shittalk against him what caused all that.

Both players are issues.  Dwight was traded by Charlotte because of his locker room presence.  Dennis famously had a spat with Dirk Nowitzki of all people on the German National Team.  Both players are locker room issues.

You can't blame Dwight's issues on Dennis when Dwight had issues in LA, Houston, Atlanta, and now Charlotte.

    Link or it didn't happen

How can you say that?  Show me one deal he has won?

In hindsight the Dwight Howard deal was better than what the Hornets got out of him. Drafting John Collins was the right move. The jury is out on this years prospects and what will happen with Dennis remains to be seen but for now he did good.

I can't really think of a bad move so far honestly

  6. Good Trade for both sides honestly.

The LT savings for OKC are tremendous.

The Hawks get Dennis off the books and facilitate a buyout for Melo.

A little sad as an obvious Schröder fan that he probably has to stick to a 6th man role.

Okc should definitely add a first rounder. I'm all for 2021 because that should be one of the beat drafts in ages due to highschoolers getting in

Some of the negativity is overboard i agree.  But the truth is it isn't the offseason.  It was the season.   The arrest plus the horrible defense and shooting when he had a chance to show out.  It really was the defense that disturbed me because it seemed like lack of effort.

But the truth is that players can only do what they can do.   It wasn't a good situation for Dennis to thrive.   I think this season will be a worse situation than last but  you never know.

I actually was disappointed in him last season too. I partially blame the situation for it as you do too. However I think he'll do better this season. I'm quite sure he gon play with fierce again, eager to get his value back up.

There is a market for everyone.  There is a market for Plumlee if we attach some picks to him even though he is the definition of a high paid, low impact player.  To me, the key issue is whether we want to shop him (the answer seems to be a definite "yes") and, if so, what we are willing to take.  The range of offers go from "I'll take your bad contract and give you cash and picks" to "you give me cap relief, cash and picks."  There is an ocean of room in between where the parties need to meet at a point for a trade to happen.

    You're right about that.

My personal opinion is that the fo wouldn't deal him for a bad contract and a second. They probably want either a first attached or a player with some value at least

Nah, we're discussing the merits and pitfalls of tanking ... oh wait, that's every other thread.  My bad.

Yeah, it seems the Hawks are trying to move him.  Much to the obvious dismay of our German contingent.

There is no dismay. Don't construct something that's not there.

I simply find it confusing how one off season changed the view of the nearly the entire fanbase on Dennis.

I'm ready to move on because we have Trae now but I don't understand all those blame assignments and shitting on him.

    Nobody wants him.

We'll be fortunate to get a 2nd round pick for him.

The League have watched and listened from the mountains. They have watched with disgust as our team have been overseen by a child…who scoffs at sportsmanship, team play, and professionalism.  And now we want to trade this child who could not even win with Millsap and Howard because he would not pass the ball.

Lmao what a bunch of nonsense

I was referencing the post and links from campster.

Shams report doesn't give any indication of Dennis' value.

You mentioned my name that's why

I think you're misconstruing.  Nowhere in that story does it suggest there's a fervent market for Dennis.  This is all it says about him ...

    https://sports.yahoo.com/trae-young-shaking-off-early-summer-league-demons-step-franchise-star-role-135407432.html

To trade Dennis right now, we would have to add an asset.  That's an untenable situation and totally explains why they haven't traded him yet.

Ok well I imply that, by saying that the value in the offerings is not right so far, there are a couple of interested teams. To what extent the value differs is certainly a different question.

  12. vor 7 Minuten, JayBirdHawk sagte:

If you say so, but you can't keep burying your head in the sand.

    Which part is fake? This....

Or just the part about them trying to trade him?

I really don't get why hawks beat writers, reporters and newspapers always tend to stir something as negative as possible. I mean isn't their job to attract more people to the Hawks market and additionally spread news to better the value and negotiation situation of the Hawks.
