I said in the beginning of the off season that some of the hawks current starters need to go to the bench. They includes Hunter and Capela.

we don’t have to get rid of our veteran help just because we are bringing in their future replacements. As a matter of fact we should hold on to them and stop being cheap. That’s part of the problem. Hunter and Risacher can split minutes until Risacher fully takes Hunters spot. Clingan will take Capela minutes immediately and we can just bring CC off the bench until we trade him for good value.

Indy was worse than us last year

Dallas and Minnesota was right there with us.

All of them was in the conference finals this year. 

Our issues was center, POA perimeter defense which may always be an issue but was massively one with the Trae and Murray pairing as well as depth due to our unwillingness to pay the LT.

PITP, transition defense, and paint scoring was a massive issue for us last year. We could fix two out of 3 with Clingan or Edey and with Edey, we unlock Trae as well off the ball offense. 

that's how i see it as well.

Drafting a rookie for win now is stupid, no rookie is going to make you win now.

Believing we can win a ring with Trae is also stupid, we would need a completely different roster and another Superstar. I can see us as a contender with JJ, Mikal Bridges, KAT and 2 or 3 3&D wing players, and a defensive Big PG but there is no way we have the pieces to get them.

I understand we like Clingan and Edey, I think they can solve a lot of problems and we should try to get them but not at #1 picks cost. It should be cheap to get a 10-20 pick and get Edey, this is a cheap draft. 

Our roster just don't fit, we should trade CC, DJM at all cost. Hunter, Bogi and OO could also be dealt for the right pieces. Just JJ, Trae, Bufkin and Gueye are keepers, and Sarr.

your scenario would cause trae in my humble opinion to ask for a trade

@NBASupes I believe the issue with our responses towards the draft has Trae in mind. By all means I’m still a hardcore Trae fan. No number 1 pick is going to change my mind about whose team it is. This is Traes team and he’s a generational offensive talent that I’d rather keep long term.

Every prospect I look at has Trae in mind …i believe the FO should do the same.

I think with Q coaching it absolutely could be.  Can trade out picks however you want for 4 and 8. Could also trade Clint, Hunter, etc.. for some other player that helps.  Would have options for sure.

also look back at those talentless drafts yeah the fans would've been a little pissed at taking giannis at 1 not saying he's gianis by any stretch but he fills a huge need which is center.

i liked penix at 8 in fact i think it's the 2nd biggest steal of the draft after the 4th round pick dorlus. edey is the perfect counter to the new meta which is wemby and chet. he's just as tall and long as them but he's got a normal body like shaq.
