  1. We played better defense and had a better flow on offense, no doubt about it. You could tell by Smoove's body language early in the game that he was frustrated and had a negative vibe. It all started after he missed 2 free throws (what else is new) and 2 awful jump shots.

Zaza played a great game on both sides of the ball. He is physical. You always know what you are getting with him unlike Smoove. At least Zaza gets in there and gets rebounds and bangs around. (AND MAKES FREE THROWS!)

  2. Also, I love how people think basketball is a "Defense first" game. It's not. Basketball is about scoring points. Even the best defenses can't stop teams some nights. That's just the nature of basketball. You gotta be able to score points when you need to. It's about offense and efficiency. Football is a defensive game, hockey is a defensive game, baseball is well baseball. But basketball is unique in that its about who can score the most and more efficiently. There aren't "defensive coordinators" in basketball. Sometimes teams can be unstoppable. You just gotta live with it and accept it.

  3. How many points did we score in the first half? A whopping 41. The game was over at the half because we couldn't score. Any team can score in the 2nd half when it doesn't matter and the other team has already let up. Our 97 points don't mean diddly poo and you're a fool if you believe otherwise.

Sometimes the other team is just better and tonight was one of those nights. Defense, offense, everything. The Clippers were just making shots and the Hawks couldn't keep up.

  4. This is a funny and true post. I'm sick of his pretty boy *ss too. The guy has played 4 games in 3 years and was never even good before we signed him. I think he has become the team nurse and was probably the guy giving Joe his IV's the last few days while he was sick. "Nurse Speedy, I need you!"

What a joke of a human being.

  5. You pretty much summed it up, benhillboy. I'm fed up with it. The guy has become nothing more than a stand still jumpshooter and he even passes up open shots more frequently now. It's unbelievably frustrating to watch him hesitate on an open three and then do his little prance (you can't call it a drive) into the lane and throw up something contested or turn the ball over.

  6. Oh really that's awesome except the Hawks haven't even sniffed the playoffs until last year so don't give me any of that Pistons championship talk.

Joe Johnson has pretty numbers (except that 42% FG number), sure. But I don't see how you can sit there and watch him play without saying "WTF" yourself about some of the things he does.

Team leader? How? My grandma could probably fire the team up better than Joe can.

  7. Guard play had nothing to do with the loss? Take a look at the backcourt scoring numbers and you will think differently.

    10/31 shooting for 30 points between Acie/Flip/Joe.

Say all you want about defense but the Clippers were just on fire and we sucked *ss on the offensive end as the above numbers indicate.

    Edit in bold.

  8. I don't care if he was sick tonight. He's not fun to watch anymore. Some of the decisions he makes on the court boggle my mind. Plays with no intensity. Looks like he sleepwalks through most games. Much like how most of the team plays except for Al and Smoove. Pretty much a mirror image of the head coach. Boring.

I guarantee that more cable outlets carry TNT rather than Sportsouth. It won't be blacked out.

I realize that, but if you have SportSouth there is no need for TNT to show it in your area because ratings will clash. I'd rather watch it on TNT myself but it looks like we're gonna get the hometown broadcast.
