  1. Actually Hotlanta Dude, JT's efficiency was alright - 17 points on 17 shot attempts. He did not attempt 21 shots. While JT's shot selection was poor - Kruger called the plays that got him his shots, which were mostly good looks that he hits. This loss was totally Kruger's fault. It had nothing to do with the players. The blame for this loss lies squarely on Kruger's no-brain rotations and playcalling. He put the 2nd unit in all at the same time, he did not leave one of the big 3 scorers on the floor for his substitutions in the 2nd and 4th which cost us the game. As soon as the Wolves made it a 10 point deficit, Reef should have been put into the game and Lon should have made calls for Reef to post up and score right in the teeth of that zone, or draw fouls. Instead, Lon waited until the lead got to 20. And on from there.......
  2. I meant to say unless we get a new coach we will lose what little fans we do have. Atlanta fans may be fickle but they would be quick to jump on a bandwagon if it proves itself for real. The Hawks could have extended their winning streak to 4 last night quite easily. All they had to do probably was take 15 less 3 pointers and give Reef 15 more shots instead. Jeez, ride Reef - most of the time he's going to give you a 2 or at least draw a foul. This guy is in a groove, why the [censored] do you run plays for JT to shoot a half dozen 3s, Dion to shoot 3 3s in a row at one point! what a freakin waste!
  3. Exactly. There were more Hawks fans at this game actually than there were at the Raptors game. They booed quite noticeably at the end of this game. If we don't get a new coach soon - or unless Lon makes sane substitutions and motivates his team the right way - perhaps instead of clapping for his team the way he did last night when they were losing by 23 points - he should have been glaring at them, getting ready to pour hot water on them in the locker room. We need a coach in here to light a fire under our asses!
  4. No way last night should have happened. Kruger was unable to get the starters fired up and before they got fired up he pulled all of them for the bench, and they turned a 2 point deficit into a double digit deficit. Then he puts the starters back in and it gets worse...no doubt! they got cold sitting there on the bench and he just sticks them in like its nothing...does the same [censored] thing in the 4th quarter! makes me sick! after the starters dug them out of the 23 hole to make it 11.....guys like troy hudson and marc jackson had their best games of the year! wtf! If you tell somebody on the street that KG scored 15 points and pulled down 12 rebounds on 5-19 shooting last night against the hawks, they'd assume it was a Hawks W. It very well should have been. With just about any other coach currently in the NBA, it most likely WOULD have been! Looking at the box score. Everything even aside from FG shooting. You know what sticks out? The Hawks took 24 three pointers to the Wolves 10....the Hawks shoot 34-85 from the field and the Wolves 40-85. If the Hawks had attempted to slice that zone like the textbook says to do with more 2 point shots with the right players on the court - no doubt this would have been a freakin victory. Replace 15 of those 3 point attempts with 2 point attempts and it would have been a victory despite the horrendous defensive effort. because only 7 makes would have been needed to overcome the final 10 point deficit. We need to replace Emmanuel Davis with a CBA point guard. Thats about as good as he is and at least a CBAer will put forth an effort to try to stay here.
  5. sorry coach maybe - they were unprepared for this zone defense - sorry players - [censored] no:)
  6. the Lakers are 25th! on ESPN's power ranking they are 15th or sth

    All Star game

lol! I did the same thing! voted for Terry, Robinson, Ratliff, and Reef with McGrady!
  8. fouls that Ben Wallace would not get called for. Theo has to earn his reputation back , I guess. He has been called for more cheap fouls than any other center I have seen play so far.
  9. Hey Hotlanta you watched the game? Shareef wasn't the problem. He wasn't the turnover machine Glenn Robinson was. Glenn Robinson had 6 turnovers Reef had but 1, Reef had 5 assists, Glenn 3. The reason we lost tonight was an effective game plan against our weakness by the Phoenix Suns. We have to address attacking the full court press either through the personnel we have or via trade. Lon could have saved this game by putting the ball in emails hands when it wasn't in JT's hands. Darvin Ham wasn't brought here to handle the ball, neither was Dog. The players need to stay within their roles. This is the NBA btw anything can happen. The Bucks hammered the Nets tonight and the Utah Jazz nearly beat the Pistons on the road. The same Utah Jazz team Atlanta handled at home.

    Tonights game

You are far too pessimistic, Hotlanta. The Denver Nuggets and Chicago Bulls are young and talented teams who can pull an upset any given night. In fact the Chicago Bulls had beaten Charlotte on the road and Denver had beaten Phoenix on the road. These may be bad teams on paper the Hawks have beaten, but they are not going to lay down for you. You should be glad that the Hawks have a winning record now and taking care of business against "bad teams" so that when the gelling process is complete , which usually takes 20 games according to Mike Glenn, this team will be ready to compete against anybody. As for the turnovers. IMO they are partly Dickau and the other part players getting used to each other.
  11. Come on. Ray Allen is a better player? he gets lit up by everyone he guards defensively, and last time I checked he was averaging 19 ppg with 2 rpg and 2 apg. Terrible rebounding and assisting from a 2 guard. His scoring is down too. The absence of Big Dog to take the pressure off a perimeter jump shooter?
  12. You're right they're excuses. But I'm still not worried. Only one game against a good team.
  13. The Hawks kept hanging in there without their leading scorer and rebounder from last year, their 6th man, Dion Glover, and their backup center Nazr Mohammed against a 100% healthy nets team on their homecourt with the homecooking going with the officiating and all that, on the night the Nets hang up their Eastern Conference Championship Banner. The Hawks are going to the playoffs and a contendor for the Eastern Conference Championship this year. Its guaranteed. How far they go depends only on health of key players, the same thing even the Nets can say.

    Boxscore

Reef got a T - he shot only 2 free throws and 4-14 from the field...yeah they were probably playing good D on him and Nazr....but he prolly got the T for complaining about them being too physical on him. Big Dog and JT had great games
  15. Yeah when the gimp is playing;)
  16. now our 2nd unit is (you think?) : PG - Dickau SG - Glover SF - Hamm PF - Hendu C - Nazr I think thats a nice second unit. Glover the primary option and offensive sets run off him. you're right now its not so bad for Ira to start. There is enough firepower off the bench for him to provide defense to the starters and just a little offense.
  17. http://www.nba.com/hawks/news/Free_Agent_D...i-53209-33.html www.hawks.com You're right Ham used to kill the Hawks now the Hawks should have even more success against the Bucks, he will be out for revenge against them! lol!
  18. What do you think about this? I think its a good signing!
  19. He did say something about Ray Allen didn't he? said he was a coward or something to that effect
  20. I'm not worried at all about DJ's performance in the Summer League. He's just there to stay in game shape, he has no need to try and dominate and risk an injury. I think the Hawks are showcasing Dion and letting him be the first option in order to gain leverage in a potential trade for a 2/3 player with proven NBA experience.
  21. I just read the game story. Dickau did not cause the altercation, Richard Jefferson did. All Dickau did was set a screen. Jefferson put him in a headlock. The officials talked about what happened a few minutes, assigned them both technicals, then kicked them both out. Dan should have stayed in the game. The game notes said the officials really didn't know what went on it happened so quickly. I like small point guards setting hard screens. its good to see. He may have some of the intangibles that another Gonzaga PG brings to the court. That is great to think about. Peace!
