  1. I don't know. Someone in another thread gave reasons that supposedly come from a source inside the Hawks that Dwight has too many baby mama's and a bad situation with his own family in Atlanta. I don't know if that is true or not but the reasons I gave are valid reasons why Atlanta should be a good destination for him.

Well good destination or not, if he doesn't want to play here, he doesn't want to play here, and he has given NO sign, not even the faintest glimmer that the Atlanta Hawks are even anywhere on his radar. That's all that matters, so my question is, given the clear and obvious fact he doesn't wish to be here, why bother with him?
  2. Atlanta has perks that are so obvious even you should understand them. We are his hometown team. We are the team he grew up a fan of. We have his best friend since childhood on the roster. None of those 27 teams you keep spewing about can offer that.

So with all of these perks, why is it he still doesn't want to play here? That's the one question no one's seemed able to answer.

  3. I'm pretty sure his popularity would be dependent upon his behavior here. If he's acting the gigantic drama queen and undermining his coach and GM here as he did in Orlando, his popularity would take a hit here just as it did there.Of course if he were able to help lead us to a ring, that would overrule everything else.

  4. True. When he was being booed for being a Kardashian who looked like a cross between a soap star and surfer, it was also fueled by some thought that he was an over-privileged bum. Not so. The guy would elbow his mother across the head for an offensive rebound.

Fifth leading rebounder in the NBA in each of the past two seasons. Was tenth in double doubles last season, and is also starting to emerge as a pretty decent shot blocker. I say heck to the yes!I'd actually prefer Humphries over Brook Lopez, for whatever that's worth.
  5. For pure entertainment's sake, I'd love to see the Magic not trade Dwight and then bench him for the entire season. What a spoiled, entitled brat!

That would be awesome. He's a heck of a player, but my opinion is that he pretty much sucks as a person. He puts on this facade of being such a 'Christian', but then you see all the crap he put Otis Smith and Van Gundy through, and he's just completely two-faced about it. He's the type of person who will smile in your face as his arm sneaks around you to slide the knife into your back.
  6. I'm putting my money on the Lakers to get Howard. They did have a deal in place that would have sent Bynum over, before Dwight decided to opt-in next season, and now they're talking again. That would be fine by me, BTW. It'll be nice to no longer have to hear about all the Dwight-related drama, and once that piece falls into place, the rest will probably fall like dominoes.

  7. The stats might say that Joe is the fourth best player in this system but do you honestly think that Joe, a six time allstar, an ALL NBA player, is really that bad???I'll tell you why stats show this, it's because Joe is the number one player that defenses try to focus in on this team, hence he has to bear the burden on the offensive end most of the time. Do you really think defenses try to stop Josh from going off on them LOL! No, they'd rather him build brick houses with that jumper of his.I'll guarantee you that on the offensive end, with Joe out, defenses will figure out a way to expose the hawks and force Josh to take jumper after jumper, and we will all soon see how bad of an offensive team the Hawks will be without having Joe as the scapegoat. If you give Joe a number 1 option, his stats would be better and he would be more efficient. We already know that Joe is not a 1st option, but the fourth best player on this team he is not.

Whether he's first or fourth best, it doesn't really matter in my opinion. I think the only relevant point is that the $20M per he's set to be making over the four years left on his deal is going to become a real problem for us, unless we can get rid of that obligation somehow.
  8. with the Gerald Wallace signing and Howard demanding to be traded to Brooklyn, I think the chances of this happening are dead. They will now throw all their trade chips for Howard andA) Some of these chips might be the expirings we wanted to enable them to take back Hedo andB) After having the salaries of Deron, Dwight and now Wallace, there's no way they commit to taking on Johnson's as well -- that would screw themSucks, I was really excited for our future for a second.

Maybe, but it ain't over yet. Remember, Deron resigning there is not a slam dunk yet, in fact there are an awful lot of people who believe he's ultimately going to choose to go home to Dallas. Don't give up hope yet!
  9. Pretty much just being a strict follower of Big 10 basketball, I'm really not all that familiar with either one of these players, but have somewhat conflicting emotions on our draft based on what the talking heads are saying. Jenkins- it's great that he's regarded as being the best shooter in the draft. That's awesome, shooting being something we could always use. However, when I see his potential NBA impact being compared to that of JJ Reddick, and hear virtually every expert calling him 'one-dimensional' and many saying for that reason he was a reach at 23, that doesn't paint nearly as rosy a picture. And Scott, he seems like a fairly good second round pick but for the fact he's already 24 years old.I have no idea what to think. Just gonna keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best. What else can ya do?
