  1. Sorry but that article has to be at least half wrong. Olympiacos played 4 pre-season games so far.

They won the first one 79-66 so how could Childress have missed the game winner??? He did have 19 points in that game and was the top scorer.

The 2nd game they won 72-71 and as far as I can tell by the google translation Childress didn't play.

The third game they lost 80-85, Childress had 9 points.

In the fourth game they won 88-82 and Childress had 14 points (top scorer had 16).

Seems to me that the article was written just to hate on Childress a little bit.

  2. 69-61 halftime lead for team USA.

Since when can Wade hit threes? He's making nearly everything.

Spain's PG problems today are showing, they made a couple of lazy turnovers when Navarro was taking over the point.

Hopefully the game stays kinda close.

  3. Close high scoring game after the first quarter. I fear that Spain might outpace itself, I mean they're a deep team but the USA are deeper. Too bad Calderon is injured and Lopez is playing like s*** today, so it all depends on young Ricky Rubio.

EDIT: And of course the refs still don't call travelling against the USA.

  4. Wow with an injured Nocioni and without Ginobili Argentina won the 2nd quarter 29-19.

My prediction for the 2nd half: Bryant got owned 2 times so he's very angry and will most likely go into full chucking mode (he already has 11 shots) and either win or lose the game.

EDIT: Seems like the refs want to take it into their hands now.

  5. 55-43 at halftime.

Australia tried too many threes in the last minutes.

Rebounds 30-14 for Team USA, ouch.

USA still can't make a three they're 2-12 or 3-13 from behind the arc.

I guess unless Australia can hit it's first 5 shots in the 2nd half the US will pull away rather fast.

How is it possible that there are more travelling calls against Germany than against the US in this tourney?

  6. 51-32 USA halftime.

If Greece played the whole game as calm as in the 1st quarter they might've won, but in the 2nd quarter they made a lot of ridiculous turnovers and they're 0-7 from 3 point range :shock11: . They shouldn't use Baby Shaq, he has nearly no skill other than size and is a TO machine so far.

Wade acts like an arrogant prick.

I wonder why the refs hardly call any travelling against the US in this tournament. (It doesn't matter in these lopsided games, but if it ever gets close, then it would suck if they still don't call it)

  7. I remember a few years ago when Flip was a darn good shooter with guess who? Yes the Seattle Supersonics.

I believe that was a dream (unless you consider 36.1-42.5% fg and 22.4-29.3% 3pt darn good shooting). ;)

  8. I was very impressed how easily Brock dominated the other guy, but I wonder if he just couldn't finish Herring off or if he wanted to show that he could dominate for 3 whole rounds. Anyway if he improves his submission defense he'll be tough to beat and is not all hype like Kimbo.

  9. Camby has not made less than 8mill a year since his rookie contract.

    Really?

CLEVELAND (AP) — Unrestricted free agent Earl Boykins signed a one-year, $3.5 million deal Tuesday to play with Virtus Bologna of the Italian league, the latest NBA player to a sign a deal with an overseas club.

Andy Bountogianis of the Cleveland-based Mark Termini Associates Inc. sports agency, confirmed the signing.

The 32-year-old point guard will be the highest-paid player in Italy for the 2008-09 season. He also will participate in the sponsorship and marketing income of the team.

The 5-foot-5 Boykins, who played at Eastern Michigan, has been in the NBA for 10 years, and averaged 9.4 points. He played for the Charlotte Bobcats last season and has also played for the New Jersey Nets, Cleveland Cavaliers, Orlando Magic, Los Angeles Clippers, Golden State Warriors, Denver Nuggets and Milwaukee Bucks.

On Monday, Carlos Arroyo, who played for Orlando the last two seasons, announced that he has signed a one-year deal with Maccabi Tel Aviv, an Israeli club. Josh Childress announced last month that he was leaving the Atlanta Hawks for Greek club Olympiakos.

Also last month, Nenad Kerstic left the Nets and Carlos Delfino and Jorge Garbajosa left the Toronto Raptors to sign with a Russian team.

In June, Juan Carlos Navarro rejoined FC Barcelona after a one-season stint with the Memphis Grizzlies.

You can add Orlando Magic guard Carlos Arroyo to the list of international players leaving the NBA for European clubs. Arroyo has joined Juan Carlos Navarro, Jorge Garbajosa, Carlos Delfino, Bostjan Nachbar, Primoz Brezec, and Nenad Krstic as the NBA continues losing players to tempting offers from across the Atlantic.

Interbasket has learned that the Orlando Magic backup guard and Puerto Rican national team star has signed a three-year contract with Israeli powerhouse Macabbi Tel Aviv of the Euroleague. The contract is for $2.5 million for the first year with players options in the second and third year.

Carlos Arroyo and Pat Garrity were the two remaining players that were still unsigned from last season’s Orlando Magic roster. Neither were expected to return to the team, but Arroyo’s return to the Euroleague was a bit of surprise. Well, as much as a surprise as this off-seasons can allow.

Carlos Arroyo has had previous experience hooping in Europe, playing for Spanish club Tau Ceramica before coming back for seven years of mostly-backup NBA guard work for the Utah Jazz, Detroit Pistons, and Orlando Magic. Arroyo also led Puerto Rico in defeating the United States in the 2004 Olympics. Puerto Rico destroyed the Americans 92-73 in the opening game of the Athens Olympiad.

In addition to the shocking exodus of foreign players this offseason, the NBA has also lost Josh Childress, an American player that played with the Atlanta Hawks.
