  1. Quote: Nope, don't think so..I have been a Hawks fan for 30 something years and will continue to be a Hawks fan..As a fan, we have a right to bitch and moan as much as we like..I watched all you guys cry for years about Babcock and he actually won alot until the last 3 years of his tenure here, and now I watch you guys make excuse after excuse for BK when he has a record that would rival any for futility...I was no great babcock fan, and am am sure not a Billy Knight fan, but I am a Hawks fan, and I will continue to be.As far as the Harrington thing goes, my only complaint is that Al has less value to us today than he did yesterday. He now controls who we are able to deal with..Al is a player that has shakey knees who will probably not get a 6 year big money deal anywhere..It is a given that Chicago likes him and he likes Chicago..They can match any 5 year deal and they don't have to give us a thing in return..Al may even be the rare exception as a player who knows his replacement is already on our roster, he may take a 5 year deal even if we offer 6 in a sign and trade..He may go where he knows he is needed and be slightly less rich..I just think BK took a gamble that we may very well get nothing for Al.Finally, I am not looking for instant gratification, I am looking forward to us putting a complete team on the floor that can grow into a winner..Right now I see a team without a true starting 1, 4, and 5..We will have one high pick in a very weak draft, and most of the quality guys in this draft are swingmen..We have lost the chance to trade Al for an additional pick, and this years free agent class is also weak..I was hoping to be competive for a playoff birth next year, that is looking very unlikely..As a fan, I have the right to "question" the moves of a GM that has made several "questionable" moves in the past. Welcome to the Darkside...I shall call you Darth TMAC
  2. Quote: Please tell me what move you know for a fact was offered to BK, that you would have taken for Al.As I see it, there was noone obtainable worth having. Someone please tell me the trade we missed. I am starting to loose the passion for watching basketball. It seems to be saturated with overpaid mediocracy. What is going on? The East has been down for a while and now the West has been declining with players moving East. Getting back to the subject, there does't seem any one available that can help this team win any more than just sticking with what they have. Ask Las since he was at the super secret Skull and Bones meeting. Oh I forgot he can't reveal to us what was said. This message will self destruct in 5 seconds.
  3. Quote: no thanks I enjoy being a heterosexual. why are you still here, I thought you were starting a revolution? I am surprised you took enough time off of BK dyck to type a reply...you can carry on now.
  4. Quote: Quote: hahahahahahaahahahahahahaahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the good thing about this guy is that he is acting like such a jackass that I would imagine that our regular crowd of enraged posters ready to kill BK will probably wonder if they come across like that and tone it down a little... I am just raising the level of disdain that's all. I will eventually pull you all to the Darkside.
  5. Quote: BK will take Aldridge if he gets the chance. I don't think that is even debatable. However he needs to get stronger before he spends much time at center in the pros. He is getting pushed around quite a bit in college. So even if they draft him they will still need to get a center who can play D. Exactly..he is an alsoran. If Oden was in this draft we would all kill ourselves if we picked Aldridge. In fact I put him behind Shelden Williams and he is just a tub of goo.
  6. Quote: so this guy is arguing that atlanta isn't a city full of transients now? wow. game over I am not arguing that I am just saying that it isn't 70 or 80 % of the population and it should be an excuse. We are not Charlotte or Fort Lauderdale
  7. Phoenix hasn't done that bad either, considering when we hired Billy Knight, they sucked as bad as we do now.
  8. Move out of Alpharetta and you will meet plenty of Atlanta born people. My family has been in Atlanta since slavery, worked on a plantation that became Buckhead.I was raised in Decatur, nearly everyone in my highschool, neighborhood, church are Atlanta born.Atlanta born, Decatur bred and when I die I will be Lithonia Dead.
  9. Quote: I'll take it that you think that 6'9" 240 Ben Wallace is a SF also? You really are dumber than I thought FYI Bill Russell was 6'10" 220 the fact that he is sucessful as center is an indictment of the state of the center position, particularly in the East, than it is a statement of his ability. I think he is overrated. Jabbar, Hakeem, Laimbeer, Parish, Ewing, Tree, Eaton, Walton, Malone, would have killed him.
  10. Quote: Quote: I have been reading Hawks board for years amd like Braves fans I am tired of the apathy and apologism..I am going to start a revolution to change the attitude of Atlanta sportsfans. I am going to run you apathetic fans off of the internet. I am going to run apathetic fans out of the stadium. Whenever I see a cat from Alpharetta cheering for the Pistons I am going to run his azz out of the stadium too. I am going to turn Atlanta into Philly south if it kills me. Umm.. Have you ever read much about the demographics of Atlanta? We're a city of transients, for the most part. It's perfectly logical that when people move here, seeking greener pastures than they have in NYC, Chicago, LA, etc, they keep their hometown sports allegiances. Are you going to commit some kind of mass genocide against all the migrant sports fans? You're kind of scary, dude. That is where you are wrong. Atlanta didn't just become a big city 10 years ago. We have been a big city for a while. It is just that our sports franchise history has been bad for so long that even native Atlantans root for other teams. Take the Pistons game for instance. Half of the fans were Detroit fans...and a lot of them were sitting in club level seats. My fiance is from Flint, so I have been to Detroit and the general area numerous times and I know damn well that most of those cats weren't from Detroit. Detroit and Atlanta are comparable in size so I know that there can't be that many transplants.
  11. Quote: Quote: Aldridge is my guy for this draft until I hear something that makes me change my mind. The kid can play and would fill a huge need for us. Agreed 100%. If we are in a position to draft him, it's a no brainer, and I would expect that the hawks see it that way too. This only gets complicated if he's gone, and you end up having to decide between a)reaching down to take a guy like Shelden even though he doesn't deserve to go that high, b)trading down and taking him, c)trading the pick for a veteran, or d) taking a better guy who doesn't fit a need. I would guess that this time it will not be option d). Who cares, he doesn't address our problem. He is 6'10 230. What is he a PF or a SF? He is basically Lamar Odom.
  12. Quote: How on earth did we ever manage to have all those winning years without the benefit of BK? I know very well that Babcock was inept. BK certainly hasn't shown that he is any more "ept." So we improve from 13 wins to 25. That is not anything to be particularly proud of. Our team did the best, although I know I'll get flack about it, when Kasten made the decisions, without Babcock. Kasten acquired Nique, Willis, Malone, Rivers, et al. If we only had a glimpse of what BK had in mind, maybe our concerns would be eased. However, it is hard to have a lot of confidence when we stockpile small forwards, and do not have a defensive minded big, nor a point guard who could free up JJ to do what he does best; shoot the ball. They can't hear you dawg..they are too busy sucking Billy Knights d*ck.
  13. Quote: Quote: Quote: Quote: Quote: Yeah - lets be just like New York and actually lose more games than the Hawks while locking the team into overpriced losers. That would be awesome. Can you imagine how good it would feel to see the Hawks combining the natural blend of talents that is Marbury, Fracis, Richardson, and Crawford or the tough interior D and rebounding skills of Curry? That would be great. It would be even better if we could give our top 3 draft pick this year to another team like the Knicks are going to do with Chicago. Too bad we are stuck with the youngest roster in the league and roster flexibility. Guys like Josh Smith and Marvin Williams are never going to get better or amount to anything. All I know his starting PG is Steve Francis and ours is Royal Ivey. Now when I am approaching Minn about trading for Garnett, Zeke can say..hey how about Garnett for Stephon Marbury and Q and one of the 2 first rounders I have. Minn says..."Well we will think about it" We go to Minn and say hey..how about a S&T Al Harrington for Garnett. Minn GM will need his funnybone removed from laughing so hard. Salary cap space doesn't mean sh*t. No team has ever won a championship by clearing out a lot of cap space...that is the LA Clippers mentality, and after 30 years they finally got tired of it. Eventually you have to spend money and trade for veterans. We cant win with 10 22 year olds. This is the fact. Salary cap space isn't going to win you a championship. However, capping out your team with a bunch of shot chucking, no rebounding losers will keep you from being competitive for a LONG time. That is the reality the Knicks face. At least a team with flexibility can get better. For a team like the Knicks with no picks, bad roster management and long expensive contracts - they area out of contention for the next 3 years barring an absolute miracle. That is because you don't understand what he is doing. He is stacking talented pieces because he knows in order to S&T you have to have something that other people want..STARS. Folks who sell tickets. Don't be surprised if he doesn't put a package together to get a Kevin Garnett or his caliber of player. Even Isiah doesn't understand what he's doing and you think you do? I'll give you credit for bringing up a good point about trading stars for stars. I'll shoot down your point just as quickly. This isn't fantasy basketball. Salaries come into play and you'd be crazy to take on 3 or 4 large and longterm deals in exchange for KG.
  14. He declined because he didn't get the deal he wanted. Trust me you could buy the Hawks, Thrashers, and Phillips for about half of that.
  15. Quote: who gives larry hughes a max contract? It's the NBA. It's not about what they're worth, it's about what it takes to get a player on your roster. I would sign Al to a 6 year deal if it's reasonable. Something tells me that some team will sign him to a near max deal though, which he is obviously not worth Notice that it wasn't a sign and trade either.
  16. For your information I have a 21 game plan in the club section...so no I don't get to go to the super secret club meetings like you, but I spent a damn good amount of money.
  17. I guess you know because you got "inside" information from the Super secret Hawks club meeting...shut the F*ck up you effin fraud. You are Sekou aren't you? Or some marketing intern at Atlanta Spirit sent to gauge the attitude of Hawks fans. Well tell your bosses this....they suck Billy Knight sucks. Tell those folks at Centennial Tower to get a gotdamn clue or sell the team to Arthur Blank and let's win!
  18. There is no such thing as 5 year rebuilding in the free agency era. In 5 years everybody would have been in some sort of freeagency either restricted or un. Not to mention your season ticket base will be about 500 people, which prevents you from signing other free agents.

  21. That is because I have brought more passion in my four posts than you have in all 1300 of your posts punk. You apathetic azz can't remember what winning basketball feels like so your brain in numb to the madness that is Billy Knight.I heard that the owners read this site on occasion, so maybe if they came here and felt the foot of Hawks fans in their azz they may do something...like tell BK to hit the road.
  22. Quote: Quote: If there isn't anything good yesterday then what in the hell makes you think that there will be something good in the offseason? WHEN AL IS UNRESTRICTED!!!!! hey dipshit if you were the GM of another team, would you give up more for a 3 month rental of Al, or for 6 years worth of Al? Why would anyone give good pieces for a player WHO IS UNRESTRICTED !!!!! Oh I get it the fact that he is unrestricted makes him worthless to us, but extremely valueable to everyone else? That makes a lot of sense The fact is that Chicago is the only legit threat to sign Al outright, as Al will be getting paid. He is not taking the MLE. He can't sign in NY. Al will want to get paid, and will want the full 6 years. Therefore no matter where he goes, he will force them to do a SNT with us. It's a win-win for us and him. What's in his interest is in our interest. He's not going to give up the extra money. stop trolling and go to an isiah thomas fanboard. Hurry up while he's still got a job though I guarantee you that Zeke will be more sucessful and will last longer in NY than BK will here.
  23. All I know is that we won over 30 games, and we had a better coach....we won't get near that this year.
  24. Who the f*ck are you to tell a fan that they can't complain about the state of the franchise? Just because your fantasy team is still intact doesn't mean that fans can't voice their disapproval. If we think that Billy Knight is a piece of sh*t then this is the forum to voice that opinion. Who else is going to criticize? The AJC? Do they even know that the Hawks are in town? Sekou Smith is the worst beat writer in the history of sports. He might as well be on the Hawks PR staff. Hell we don't even get a mention by TNT and we are in the same building! And all of these Billy Knight apologists can kiss my azz. He is a bum, a joke of a GM, and azzhole as a person and should be put on the first Greyhound out of town..he doesn't even deserve a plane ticket!
